GAVIN'S POV

BROUGHT TO SAFETY

I was thankful to have found Iris at the right time. She was slightly bruised all over her face, she was unconscious and cold. I waited closeby, waiting patiently for the physician to come out already.

He took so much time and I was beginning to wonder if there was something else that had happened to Iris.

My phone rang, its sound enveloped the quiet hallway. It was Jerry calling. Before I could answer it, the door to the emergency room creaked open, I sprang up to my feet, ignoring the call.

“How's she?” I asked the doctor.

“No need to worry, Mr Gavin. She will be fine in no time. She just needs enough rest.”

“Thank goodness.” I sighed in relief. “Can I see her now?”

“Yes of course.”

Without another word, I rushed inside the emergency room. My gaze instantly fell on Iris, who was still unconscious, probably asleep. I went close to her bedside as I sat beside her.
