I slammed my fist into the wall, the drywall crumbling under my anger. Those gangsters had been mere pawns, but they'd refused to talk. I'd had to beat it out of them, and even then, they'd revealed nothing.

I glared at them, my anger and frustration boiling over. Despite the hours of torture, they still refused to crack, their lips sealed like vaults. It was infuriating. I had used every trick in the book, every ounce of pain and persuasion, but they remained stubbornly silent.
