Ruby had fought hard earlier, hoping the manager would reconsider and see that Liz wasn't at fault, rather than making things worse by causing Liz to lose her job.
"It is a problem because I'll lose my pay, but it's also good. I've grown tired of working there. The products are too outdated." Liz shrugged, looking indifferent, but Ruby knew that it worried her.
Ruby knew all too well the despair of losing a job. She had been unfairly fired before and understood how difficult it was to find a new job.
"Mommy, I want to go to the bathroom," AJ suddenly piped up, tugging on Ruby's hand.
"I'll take him," Otiz offered, extending his hand, and AJ agreed immediately.
