"Because I truly want you to be happy. That’s enough for me, Lori."
Otiz had reached a point of complete acceptance. He no longer hoped for anything except Lori’s happiness, even as he bore the pain himself.
"I’ve seen you dim for so long, and now you're back. The sun I once knew is shining again. I smile because you’re happy," Otiz said, speaking honestly again.
"But you're not. You..."
"But you're happy. That’s what matters to me." Otiz said it without hesitation.
Lori seemed to sigh. She closed her eyes for a moment before speaking.
"Why do you always call me the sun?" Lori inquired, slightly distracted.
"You're always cheerful—laughing warmly and moving freely here and there. Touching you is difficult. Like the sun in the sky. It is both blazing and amazing, yet it remains beyond my reach."
