Chapter 3

The final length of the drive was long and to say the least, I was getting impatient. My mind was at war with how my ancestral home looked now it has new management. Was it the same picturesque image I remember or had everything changed. My impatience was getting the better of me, I sat forward with anticipation of the sight I knew that was so close yet so far, it was eating me inside. Then I blurted out like a little child, 'are we there yet?'

And without missing a beat everyone in the car roared with laughter. As if they knew I was going to say something along those lines, I would even venture to say mum even bet the Alpha that I would say it.

I pushed myself back into my chair with a glint of shame, trying to consume my entire facial features. With all my strength I pushed my feelings to the side. And started twirling my midnight black hair throught my fingers, anything was better than the feeling that was welling from the pit of my gut. 'Did I actually say that' I  question myself.

Mum broke the silence with her sweet and soothing voice, 'we are almost there' she leaned through the gap in the front seat and pointed ahead, 'just over that hill' 

My stomach was doing back flips as I realised just how close we were.  As we passed the last hill and the scenery around the car started thinning  out, we were met by a guard post just outside the village, I wound down my window and looked at this amazingly beautiful lady, manning the checkpoint, long flowing strawberry hair that was tied up in a high pony tail, slim yet muscular physique, and the strangest shade of green, I had ever seen, strange yet something about them was intoxicating. 

She leaned into the car, politely yet firmly acknowledges her pack leader 'Alpha' she says with a smile and a nod as she  removed herself from the window she waved her arm as to usher us through. Then it dawned on me I had no idea who this lady was, but there was something about her that made me want to know who she is. I am going to make it my lifes mission to know who this woman is.

As we entered the village a familiar smell came over the car as though it was a velvet sheet, silky smooth yet welcoming the scent of freshly baked goods, flowers and pine trees that bordered the village all combined into one smell that was completely intoxicating, dragging me back to my childhood where I was completely carefree not knowing the dangers the world held. Absolutely oblivious of my mum and the Alpha, I held my head outside the window as to allow the smell take me over completely. Only when I felt the familiar feeling of eyes searing into the back of my head, I decide to retreat back into the car. Still not understanding why his eyes held so much hatred for me and why he looked at me the way he did. 

The village was exactly the same, rustic stone  houses lined the road, some were shops, while some along the main road and further back were the packs houses. Nothing flashy, just pure unadulterated perfection, as we wind up the hill at the end of the village was the most beautiful image, I imagine anywhere. A stone castle stood, with its stained glass windows and even the family crest flag that tossed and turned with the wind. The new Alpha kept my family crest, but although the outside was exactly as I remembered it, I wondered in silence what the inside looked like. The drive was excruciating and my body was aching to finally get out of the car and not be in such a close proximity to the Alpha, I hadn't realised before that he had the most enticing scent almost like he allowed the scent of a pine forest consume him, all I could smell was pine trees mixed with musk and a dash of masculinity. The smell was intoxicating to say the least, I tried my best to not let on that his scent was intriguing to me.

As we finally pulled up in front  of  My home, I leaped from the car as to stretch my tired and sore legs. The scent of the forest was being carried on the wing with a stirring of fresh water my home was absolutely perfect. Mum came up behind me   giving me a tight squeeze. She whisoers in my ear 'welcome home, with that mum let go of ne and went to enter the front, oversized oak doors. Mym turned with a smile 'are you coming, surely you're hungry' mum questions. And honestly I was hungry even though I don't have my wolf yet my appetite was insatiable at the best of time. 

As mum and I made our way throught the castle to the kitchen I had noticed that some of the rooms I had passed had been updated, the common room had 4 big screen tvs, a pool table and a air hockey table, a small library in the back with an array of soft plush couches around the room. Further along it looked like a gym with an accompanying swimming pool, upon seeing this I thought of dad, he would never put a pool within these walls. But oddly enough it looked as though it belonged. The floors in the hallway were lined with extravagant and exceptionally made hall runners all brightly coloured as to take your eyes off the dull colour of the stone walls. We passed the staircase that lead to the second floor and entered the kitchen which was updated as well, marble counters, 2 massive gas stoves with ovens that looked big enough to roast an entire pig, 3 big glass door fridges that were bursting with fresh produce, the biggest pantry I have ever seen in my life that had nearly every item from the shop in it, at least I know no one will ever go hungry. every bench had the latest appliances scattered across them and in the middle of the kitchen was huge marble island. 

Mum who got to work and making some food, glanced at me and stated 'I know its alot to take in, but all these changes do grow on you' while placing a plate of sandwiches in front of me, she turned to the pantry to grab a pack of chips then to the fridge for a small bottle of juice. Mum placed everything in front of me, with a smile she kissed my forehead and said 'after you finish eating, rinse your plate and met me upstairs' with that she turned and left the kitchen, as I was sitting there heartily devouring my meal, the scent of pine trees entered the kitchen, without even looking i knew Alpha Jackson was approaching me.

Alpha Jackson leaned against the kitchen island across from me, with a smirk upon his face, my nerves were jittery, when I remembered how I spoke to him nearly 20hrs ago back at college. A part of me knew I was in for it, not only was I disrespectful but I made no gesture to rectify my mistake. I sat there still eating and drinking, waiting for him to say something, anything. When finally  he broke the silence when he asked 'so, do you plan on staying, if so there have been a few changes, everyone aged 16 and up do training in the gym at 6am every morning for 2 hrs. I have left a booklet detailing all the new changes I have made' Alpha stated with an eerie calmness to his voice. He went to leave the kitchen when he turned and said 'I will be your partner i  the gym tomorrow don't be late, I'm not a patient man' and with that he left. 

I finished eating and rinsed my plate like mum has asked me to, and turned to leave and head upstairs to see mum. Walking up the staircase I had noticed all the family photos that were still lining the wall as I walked up, till I came across a new one, my graduation photo was already framed and on the wall. ' that was quick, I thought to myself. I had reached the top and made my way to my room which was at the end of the hall on the left. Mum was standing there waiting for me. I opened the door to my room, it was just as I remembered. My 4 poster king bed, my excessive closet and the amazing bathroom off to the side which featured a shower that can fit atlases 5 grown men, a bath tub with jets around the edge that can fit a small family easily, and the floor length mirror.

I never knew how much I missed home. By the time mum and I sorted out my room, opened the windows and cleared out some old stuff to make room for everything from college, there was a knock at my door, my friends had finally arrived and had started bringing the boxes in with the help of the omega staff. Mum, my friends and I all started unpacking all my stuff, when Sophie came across a fabulous black tight fitting dress I had bought myself, her eyes glassed over as if she were looking a her lover, it was there and then I knew I had to give it to her, or tried prying it from her fingers, so I told her ' you can keep it if you like' Sophie quickly shifted her eyes back  me with a look of satisfaction on her face she ran to me and gave me the biggest hug ever, it knock me off my feet and landing on the floor, nearly knocking me out, yep I hit my head again. I have to be the biggest cluts ever. Which got me thinking about training in the morning, a sudden feeling of dread came over me, yep I was going to die.

After we finished unpacking, we all ventured down to the dinning room where the omegas has layer dinner out for everyone, roast beef and potatoes and the largest selection of vegetables i had ever layer eyes on. We all sat in silence as we all devoured our meals. Only stopping to make light conversation which was responded to by either a nod or a grunt. 

After dinner I was exhausted, so I bid everyone good night and that I will see them at training in the morning  I went to my room, found my pyjamas and made my way to the shower. After showering I got dressed and brushed my hair and put it up in a ponytail then brushed my teeth. Once I was satisfied that I was done I left the bathroom and made my way to the bed. Mum had put fresh sheets and a brand new comforter on for me. I pulled back the sheets and eyed my bed with lust, being in bed was my favourite place in the world. When there was a knock behind me, without thinking I answered 'come in'.

And there he was staring at me with lust in his eyes, at any moment that list could turn to rage.

'What do you want, I am want to go to sleep' i asked 

Alpha stood there with hurt in his eyes. Finally replying 'it's good to have you back' with that he turned and left my room closing the door behind him.

I turned back to my bed, and slide between the sheets, set my alarm from the morning, and rolled over as to allow sleep to take me away.
