44. My Mate

My head was in turmoil, and amidst my euphoric feeling, I felt a sharp pain in my chest, I could hardly breathe, and I clutched my chest as I was overwhelmed with a different kind of feeling, pain, anger, resentment.

“Amber, Amber” I suddenly realized that Kai was holding me and calling out my name.

But I could not stop myself from crying and neither could I stop the pain I was feeling.
