The teachers' favourite

SUMMER

Storm came back in the afternoon with the teacher. I had just gone to check on my mates before I returned to Jeremy's hospital room to plan the next thing to do.

Jeremy had just finished eating lunch when we got a knock on his door. Storm stepped in and a woman followed. She looked so young. Had I not known who she was, I might have thought her a junior nurse practising for the profession.

She had her beautiful red hair in a bun. The glasses she wore made her face rounder and more innocent.

“Good morning, Luna,” she greeted, smiling nervously at me.

I blinked, wondering why everyone I met today had been using that title on me. Was there something no one was telling me?

I nodded, beaming at her. “Please have a seat,” I said, l gesturing to the visitor's chair in the room. I was sitting on the one next to the bed. This way, I didn't need to turn to see them.

“Thank you.” Smiling at me, she sat on the chair and Storm followed, looking as stiff as he did during the drive.
