Terrible news

SUMMER

I almost ran mad with worry, tugging on my hair, which I had long removed from the ponytails. I knew I looked like a mess, but I didn't mind. Not when my mates were missing.

I didn't know where to run to or whom to call. Since they took my phone with them when they left, I couldn't do anything aside from standing in front of our property, hoping I could hitch a ride with someone to their office to check on them.

They might have left early to complete their task. However, deep down, I felt there was something wrong. Not only had my mates never done something like this before, but Mitch would have stayed back if it were just a mere going over to the office to finish up their tasks.

Groaning, I tugged on my hair, trying not to let my thoughts drift towards the bad lane it wanted to take. I couldn't afford that. Not now, and certainly not ever.
