Chapter # 45

At Eliana’s call, I wrapped up my work as soon as I possibly could and returned.

I could have come immediately but hopelessness would be seen as a lie.

It would be meaningless so I stopped myself and finished my work before coming back.

After I freshened up, I texted her and took out a cigarette, smoking in the garden, waiting for her and soon her scent reached me.

My heart skipped a beat, my blood hummed in the beautiful sensation, finding myself being drowned in her inebriation.

Smiling faintly to myself, I exhaled the smoke in the air and greeted her in my most charming tone.

Without replying, I saw her hands on the wall and stopped her immediately.

“Hey- hey, stop, I will come to your side. Doctor has forbidden you from climbing,” I called hastily.

Blowing the cigarette in the ashtray and eating a peppermint so the scent won’t disturb her.
