Chapter one hundred and nineteen

Lucas’s POV

A bird passed over the plain field in a hurry as I wondered on what my next plan would be. I couldn’t tell anyone outside the palace that the alpha was down. This would cause people to suspect something was wrong.

“But the people would ask about the alpha. If they don’t find their alpha, they will act out.”

“And we will tell them that the alpha traveled for a meeting in another pack.”

That was a lie but there was no other choice but that.

I was done talking to the alpha so I nodded and let him go.

When I went to the room, I found the doctor talking to Mara.

“What’s going on?” I asked as the doctor sighed.

“There has been no significant improvement in the alphas' health. He’s still very much down.”

This didn’t come as a shock seeing as the alpha didn’t tell me anything concerning Mara being his mate and I didn’t feel any connection between them.
