Lydia

Right now, Nicholas and I are seated in the bedroom, and I was patiently waiting for him to say something since he hasn't said anything a word since we got here.

Liam mentioned to me that Nicholas came to meet him and told him that he was planning to leave the palace to go look for me because, apparently, he had something to say. So, he decided to let Nicholas know that I was at his place so that Nicholas wouldn't have to waste his time.

When I went downstairs earlier and saw Nicholas, I was feeling so nervous and anxious because I couldn't even imagine what was going to happen or what he would say to me.

As much as I hoped that he was here to right the wrong and just be more honest with his feelings, I didn't want to give myself false hope by instantly believing that that is what he would do.

“Are we just going to sit here and stay quiet, or are you finally going to say something to me?” I asked, momentarily deciding to forget that he was the Alpha and speak to him as r

Third person pov Lydia felt her heart beating faster as she waited for Nicholas's response. She never knew until now how desperately she wanted to hear Nicholas admit, with the right use of words, that he had feelings for her, and she hoped with everything that he wasn't going to disappoint her. Nicholas looked at her for a few long seconds, taking his time before eventually responding to her, “Yes, Lydia. I am falling in love with you, or better still, I am already in love with you, more than I'd have ever thought I'd love anyone in my life,” he admitted, and although Lydia was ecstatic, she couldn't hide her shock. She knew that what she said was real, but because of how much she was used to being disappointed with his responses, it took her a while to soak it in and accept that Nicholas just confessed his feelings for her. Lydia felt a sense of relief wash over her as she heard his words, and she didn't realize it when she let out an unconscious sigh of relief. “I know tha

LydiaNicholas and I finally resolved things earlier today and now I no had to worry about fighting my feelings for him and holding myself back. He left Liam's place about a few hours ago and had asked me to come with him but because I didn't just want to leave Amara like that, I chose to stay behind for today and tomorrow before I returned to the main palace. Amara and I had gotten really close and knowing she'd go back to being bored without me around, I wanted to spend time with her and also try to convince her to come out more before I leave. Right now, I was back in my bedroom and while I was laying in bed staring up at the ceiling and lost in thought, I heard the soft creak of my bedroom door opening. When I turned my head to see who it was, it turned out to be Amara, and she walked into my room slowly, using her walking aid as a guide. "What's up, Amara!" I greeted her casually, not exactly surprised to see her since I'd been expecting her.I got up from the bed to help

Lydia As I made my way back into the kitchen, I couldn't help but feel excited to take it. It has been a while since I last made breakfast for him and I couldn't wait to cook up something extremely delicious for him to eat However, as soon as I stepped into the kitchen, I noticed that most of my colleagues were staring at me. And not just any stare, but a stare that made me feel like I had grown an extra head. I could feel their eyes following me but I decided to pretend like I couldn't see or tell anything. I already knew they all despised me and probably had another bad thought about me in mind, but as usual, I didn't care. I had a job to do, and I wasn't about to let them ruin my day so early in the morning. As I walked further into the kitchen, a few of them suddenly bowed to me, leaving me utterly confused. Their sudden gesture shocked and confused me to the max and I had no idea what was happening or why they were all behaving this way. Did something happen overnight that I w

Third person pov Lydia arrived at the entrance to Nicholas's place, where she was greeted by the guard, who had an unusual smile on his face. "Good morning, Lydia," he said with a curt bow, taking Lydia by surprise with his unexpected gentleness.Knowing the kind of person he was, she found it very creepy that he was smiling at her and speaking so gently but after finding out that everyone already knew who she was to Nicholas, she understood the reason behind his false courtesy. "The Alpha is expecting you. You may go in," he said gesturing for her to walk in and even offering to help her with the tray of food. Lydia mentally rolled her eyes before thanking the guard and making her way to the door. The guard pushed it open for her and she stepped inside, taking a deep breath as she prepared to face Nicholas. She was slightly nervous because she wasn't sure whether or not Nicholas already knew about the rumors and she was also nervous because she couldn't predict his reaction.

Third Person Pov Lydia's heart was pounding as she processed what Nicholas had just told her. She was left in a state of utter disbelief as she tried to wrap her head around the fact that Nicholas had just admitted that he had started the rumors about their relationship. Her mind was filled with a flurry of questions, and she couldn't help but voice them all out loud."How did you start the rumors, Nicholas? And why would you do that?" Lydia questioned, still stunned by the revelation.Nicholas took her hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze before answering her questions. "I didn't see any reason to hide it," he replied, shrugging his broad shoulders. "I told my guards to treat you with more respect when you arrive this morning because you are my mate. I just didn't want you to think that I was still trying to keep you a secret 'cause I'm most certainly not," he added, surprising Lydia even more. He added that he already knew that the guards would spread the news among themselves

Third Person Pov Kelly rushed through the halls of the Alpha's palace, her heart pounding with anticipation. She had to deliver this news to Lady Henrietta as soon as possible. She knew that Henrietta would not take kindly to being kept in the dark, especially when it came to matters concerning the Alpha and his mate.As Kelly entered the grand room where Henrietta was seated, Henrietta raises an eyebrow, her expression expectant. "What do you want?" she demanded in a clipped tone, her gaze sharpening on the servant.Kelly's chest heaves as she gasps for air, her face flushed with the effort of her sprint. "I have something important to tell you," she said, her voice breathless. Henrietta sat up straighter in her seat, her eyes narrowing with suspicion. "Well, out with it then," she snapped. "I haven't got all day for your idle chatter and whatever it better be something worth my time," she added, prepared to throw Kelly out if the servant was only here to waste her time. Kelly

Third Person Pov Nicholas paced back and forth in his room, his mind consumed by thoughts of the upcoming general pack meeting. It was only a day away, which meant that he'd be leaving today and he couldn't help but feel a sense of dread creeping up on him. Being the antisocial person that he was, he had always hated the idea of having to deal with other Alphas and their egos. He much preferred to be left alone, tending to the affairs of his own pack in solitude. But this time, he couldn't avoid it. He had missed the previous meetings, sending his Beta Liam in his stead, and now he had to make an appearance himself if he didn't want his pack to be isolated from the alliance the meetings created. Nicholas rubbed his temples, trying to shake off the uneasy feeling in his gut. He knew that he had to go, that it was his duty as the Alpha of his pack to attend these meetings and keep the peace between the different packs. But that didn't make it any easier for him.Lydia walked into t

Third Person Pov The car ride to the neighboring pack was going smoothly and Nicholas and Lydia were deep into their conversation until suddenly, they heard a loud screeching noise from behind them, followed by a jarring thud. The car jerked forward violently, and Lydia cried out in shock as she was thrown against the seatbelt. Nicholas's heart raced as he quickly turned to check on Lydia to make sure she was okay. "Babe, are you okay?" Nicholas asked, his voice filled with concern as he turned to face her.Lydia's eyes were wide with shock, and she slowly nodded her head, wincing as she touched her forehead. "I think so," she replied, her voice shaking. "What just happened?"Nicholas reached out to take her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "I'm not sure, but it looks like we've been hit from behind," he said, his voice tight with worry. As he looked at her, he noticed a small cut on her forehead, and his heart clenched with fear. "You're bleeding," he said, his voice barely

Lydia As the anticipation swirled around me, I paced back and forth in my private dressing room, my heart fluttering like a bird trapped in a cage. The grand ceremony was about to commence, marking not only the union between Nicholas and me but also my ascension as the new Luna of the Pack. Excitement and nerves danced the tango within me, creating a whirlwind of emotions. To quell my restless energy, I reached for a glass of water and took a sip, the cool liquid soothing my parched throat. But no matter how much I drank, my nervousness persisted. I continued my pacing, back and forth, back and forth, willing myself to find a semblance of calm.Just as I was beginning to lose myself in the rhythmic motion, a gentle knock on the door startled me from my thoughts. I hurriedly composed myself and called out, "Come in."The door creaked open, and Amara, the Beta female, and a dear friend, entered the room. I wanted to rush to help her in but knowing how she was and she preferred to re

Third Person Pov A Month Later… Lydia's eyes fluttered open, the first rays of dawn streaming through the curtains and casting a soft glow in her room. She stretched her limbs, relishing in the warmth of her bed for a few moments longer before slowly sitting up. As she sat up, the weight of her new role as the Luna of the Pack settled upon her, and she was immediately hit with a mix of joy and uncertainty. For the first ten minutes, Lydia found herself lost in thought as she gazed out of her bedroom window. The view of the sprawling forest beyond the palace grounds never failed to captivate her, offering a sense of solace amidst the whirlwind of emotions she now faced. She still couldn't fathom the fact that in just a few days, she would be crowned officially as the new Luna, standing by Nicholas's side as his mate and partner.Everything had changed since Nicholas's return, and sometimes Lydia struggled to keep up with the rapid shifts in her life. Yet, a sense of profound hap

Third Person Pov Henrietta paced restlessly in her opulent room, her anger smoldering like a hidden flame. The realization that Nicholas, the stepson she had tried so hard to eliminate, had returned from the dead, killed her lifelong partner, and now held her captive, gnawed at her insides. It was inconceivable, a twisted nightmare that had somehow materialized into reality. She glanced around her luxurious surroundings, a stark contrast to the bitterness that seethed within her. The walls seemed to close in, suffocating her, as the weight of her actions bore down upon her, leaving her in total disbelief. She had foolishly allowed herself to believe that she had successfully gotten rid of Nicholas from her life, but fate had other plans in store which made her even angrier. Her thoughts were interrupted by a sharp knock on the door, and Priscilla burst into the room, her eyes ablaze with fury. The air crackled with tension as mother and daughter locked eyes."You lying fraud!" Pri

Nicholas I hurriedly walked down the prison hallway, trying to get to Lydia as quickly as possible and see how she was doing. Every step I took felt heavy with anticipation and I also couldn’t help the guilt I felt as I got closer to seeing her again. I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had failed her by taking so much time and letting her remain locked for so long. I didn’t even want to imagine how tired and frustrated she must be feeling right now and seeing how I haven’t been able to reach other to her via mindlink or get a feel of her emotions, it could only mean she was too weak to receive my attempt to talk or, she could have blocked me from reaching her. After what felt like forever, I finally arrived in front of the cell she was locked in and as soon as I did, I sensed that her presence was fragile. "Unlock the cell," I instructed the guard, mentally preparing myself to have every one of them fired for disrespecting my mate. The guard seemed a little surprised to see

Third Person PovIt was a dark, moonless night when Henrietta slipped out of her chambers in plain clothes and with a small bag slung over her shoulder. As much as she had always tried to act nonchalant and unbothered by Gerald and whatever he was up to, Gerald was the one person besides her daughter, Priscilla, that she couldn't live without. And because she hadn't heard anything from him in a while, which was unusual, she believed she needed to go see him for herself and put her uneasy feeling at ease.As she made her way out of the palace, she attempted to go through the secret passage to avoid coming across any guards who would find her attempt to sneak out at night suspicious. However, when she arrived at the passage, she was shocked to see two guards in front of it. She was certain they weren't assigned to guard the passageway because to the best of her knowledge and with how long she had been using the passageway as her getaway route, she had always believed that no one, not e

Third Person Pov Henrietta had not been able to get over the fact that she hadn't heard from Gerald in almost two days, despite the fact that they had agreed to meet up yesterday and figure out how to, without evidence, announce to the general public that Nicholas had passed and use it as a chance to coronate Priscilla as the next Alpha. She had tried reaching him through several means and even sent her men to visit but according to them, no one had seen Gerald the last few days and since his guards weren't allowed into his house without permission, they couldn't confirm if he was home or out. She tried not to think that anything bad could have happened to him but for some reason, she wasn't having a very good feeling about his sudden absence especially because she knew that Gerald would never suddenly disappear at such an important moment. "What is it, Mother?" Priscilla asked as she walked in, distracting Henrietta from her thoughts. "What do you mean?" Henrietta replied, not e

Third Person Pov Amara clutched her walking stick firmly as she moved across the complex halls of the palace. She had never walked through the palace's opulent halls before, and it was daunting, considering the fact that she was blind and also considering the fact that she disliked the mere thought of being here and being seen. Still, she was determined to visit her friend Lydia, who had been imprisoned unjustly for over a week now, and bring her some food and water since she doubted that the guards would feed her proper food. Amara’s heightened senses were her only guide as she made her way down the long and winding corridors of the palace. She relied on her super-sensitive hearing, touch, and smell to navigate her way to the prison area without being seen by anyone. She already had a backup plan just in case she'd get caught but she preferred not to be seen by anyone at all to avoid her worst nightmare coming to light. The unfamiliar surroundings were a challenge even for her

  • My Alpha Mate Hates Me    Chapter 133

Third Person Pov Nicholas glared down at Gerald's almost lifeless body, his eyes reflecting a mix of emotions, including anger, hatred, and a strange sense of satisfaction. The man lying in front of him was also one of the people responsible for what led to his mother getting killed unjustly and the pain and frustration that Gerald, with the aid of Henrietta, had caused him over the years was something that Nicholas had never for one second forgotten. Seeing Gerald lying there, in his own pool of blood, cold and on the verge of dying, gave him a sense of partial closure that he didn't know he needed, and as demented as it may sound, he was ecstatic that he got to kill Gerald himself and watch him die a painful death. Gerald was barely breathing, and from the blood that kept pouring out of his mouth, it was clear to Nicholas that time was running out and that Gerald would be a thing of the past in only a few seconds. Gerald knew Nicholas was staring down at him and despite finding

Nicholas's Pov I moved stealthily over the fence surrounding Gerald's house which was located far into town and away from most houses in town. One would think a wealthy and corrupt thief like Gerald would have his house located near the palace since he was so obsessed with the place, but surprisingly, after I kicked him out, he chose to buy himself a house that was very far away from the palace. Of course, I knew he probably only did it to follow Henrietta's instruction cause I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have agreed for her lover to buy a house in a place that was too close to hers, where they could easily be seen by others. The night sky was already pretty dark, and fortunately for me, the guards at the main gate were seemingly occupied with something else, so neither of them heard any sound from my direction.I expected Gerald, knowing how paranoid he was, to have his house swamped with guards but, to my surprise, the place was not as heavily guarded as I had anticipated.
