Chapter 5.5: The Rat

JULY

AT WH GATE… 11 P.M.

"Hey sis, glad you're back," Rizal greeted me.

"Oh, why are you here? Didn't I tell you to watch the president's daughter?" I asked hesitantly while getting out of the passenger side of the car.

"The other guards are there, big sis. Besides, she's more frightening than the chief. She’s like a tiger and very bratty," Rizal complained.

Uh-oh. On the very first day he substituted for me, he immediately tasted the bitterness of that woman?

‘She’s not a bitch! She’s our mate!’ my wolf said. I ignored her.

"Why? What happened?" Jacqui asked, coming out of the driver's side. We were on a mission together earlier, and he took me here to WH.

"Hi, my Jacqui..." Rizal greeted her first before answering my best friend’s question.

We all know about my brother's feelings for my best friend. I just don't know on Jacqui's side if she felt the same way towards him.

We haven't talked about it yet, and she hasn't opened up to me. I don't want to interfere with her love life, even if we're best friends.

"Hello, Riz," Jacqui’s casual greeting. "So what happened?" he asked without leaving the driver's side and just putting one hand on top of the car. I went on Rizal's side.

My brother sighed first before speaking.

"President Jaime's daughter is beautiful and smart. She was really nice when we were introduced, but her mood changed when I mentioned that she was famous in the online world. Then seriously, big sis, she’s so bossy and the President could not do anything. She’s really a bitch…" Rizal complained to me like a child.

I looked at Jacqui.

"Good luck to you, best," she mockingly said.

"Wow, you are so supportive…" I said, making a face.

‘We can fix that. When we mate her, she won’t be a bitch anymore,’ Wolf replied.

"Stop it!" I said angrily.

"Is your wolf fighting with you again?" Jacqui asked, laughing.

I haven’t told anyone yet about what my wolf wants to happen. She really wants to mate with that bitch. But as long as I'm in control, I won't allow what she wants. Even that woman is beautiful. I nodded at Jacqui and faced Rizal.

"Did Natalia leave?" I asked him.

I don’t know why, but the way her name came out of my mouth seems like I’ve been used to doing it all my life. Yaaaa! This is dangerous.

"She didn't. She even came out of her room and her friends were sent home early," he replied. I was relieved because I didn't have to deal with the woman's bitchiness right now.

"All right. I'll take care of it, Riz. Thanks for doing this. Just email me your reports. I'll wait within one hour," I told my brother and hugged him. "Thank you, baby boy."

"No problem, big sis," he said, smiling at me. "I'm going to ride with my Jacqui, big sis. I did not bring my car…" he said, and quickly got into the passenger seat. He sat there comfortably while looking cutely at Jacqui.

"You are always finding ways, Riz," I heard Jacqui say. "Bye, best," she said, and just gave me a flying kiss and got in her car.

"Take care of my brother!" I shouted. They look so good together. I hope Rizal’s feelings will be reciprocated.

I really don't know why Rizal is so in love with my best friend. Anyway, it's okay for me if that best friend of mine becomes my sister-in-law.

When the two were out of my sight, I walked to the WH gate. I first stayed at the gate where the CCTV scanner could see me. It took a minute before the 12 ft. high and 10 ft. long steel electric door opened spontaneously.

If you look outside, it is just an ordinary gate, but actually, it is deadly if you were to break in. There are no guards assigned at the main gate because the M-16 is automatically loaded in different parts of the gate if there are intruders entering or the CCTV scanner cannot recognize them.

Some snipers are just hiding around in case the intruder escapes or evade the M-16s. There are no guards to apprehend you, but you will immediately die when you enter WH without permission.

As for the supernaturals that will break-in, the President has a different army against them. Security is tight here in the WH and the President is very careful.

I walked to the pathway leading to the White House, but I was still a little far away, so I used my wolf speed to flee at the main door in seconds.

Kakay opened the main door for me with a wide smile on her face, which I reciprocated.

I had turned my back on her to go to my room because it was already night and I needed to rest because I was tired of Jacqui and I's mission earlier when Kakay handed me something.

"That's your spare uniform, agent." She handed me another pair of maids' uniforms.

I don't know if I'll smile or grumble, but I just chose the first one. I'm a kind person. I just reminded myself that this is all part of the mission.

"Thank you," I replied shortly and went upstairs, but I went to check on Natalia first. After confirming that she was there and sleeping soundly, I entered my room next to her bedroom.

THE NEXT MORNING, at 6:30 A.M.

I didn’t sleep well, but I still woke up early. How can I sleep well when my wolf always disturbs me because she wants to see Natalia.

My wolf is really reprehensible. I didn't give in, so she didn't put me to sleep either because she fought with me all night.

Have you ever seen a creature wrestle with itself? Imagine me like that and you know how I was with my wolf. She wanted to go out in our true form, but I wouldn't let her because that would cause a big problem when someone saw us in WH.

I was asked to wear a maid's suit so that I wouldn't be recognized as an agent, and then, all of a sudden, my wolf would demand to come out. I guess I spoiled my wolf as well. That's why she is acting this way.

I went straight to the kitchen and prepared a strong coffee to wake up my spirit. I need to be more cautious around here because, according to Rizal's report last night, which I just read earlier, he smelled a vampire lurking around in WH.

I wore the maid's suit and brewed coffee. I caught up with Kakay in the kitchen, who also suddenly left because the president needed her.

I don't know if Rizal is right when he said that there are other housemaids here because so far, I only saw Kakay.

I was in the middle of sipping coffee when suddenly my wolf screamed inside me.

‘Vampire alert! Vampire alert!’

I became alert and used my sense of smell. Yes, I could smell a vampire nearby.

I carefully put my cup on the counter and slowly walked out of the kitchen. The vampire smell is just nearby.

I immediately grabbed the silver dagger that I hid on my other leg. It was safe there since it was covered by a thigh-high uniform. I always had it prepared in case of an emergency.

‘The vampire is on the door side!’ my wolf warned me. Yes, I can smell them.

I slowly went to the open space door frame of the kitchen and was about to strike the vampire, but I was stunned when I recognized who it was.

Her eyes widened as she looked at me and the dagger I was now holding.

"What the hell are you doing?!" she asked. The expression on her face I could not read, but there was a hint of fear in his voice.

I was stunned and could not speak. The smell of the vampire is gone.

"T-there's a rat, Ma'am Nat," I reasoned. I'm not sure if she'll buy it.

‘Nyaaa!!! Lame!!!’ shouted my wolf, who laughed at me.

Naughty wolf! I'm dead. Super dead. Waah!!!
