“She's engaged to him, Alpha James.”

I lifted my head when these words suddenly echoed inside my lonely office. My brows were furrowed when I saw Levi standing in front of me.

He just arrived, wearing his sad look. I rose from sitting and went to my small bar counter inside the office.

My heart pounded so fast, hands were shaking when I put a hard drink in my glass. I sip it first before responding to my beta.

“W-Who's engaged?” I asked as if I didn't suspect anything.

Levi didn't drop the name yet, but my heart knew that he's referring to her. The one and only person in my heart until now.
