Sephora finally stopped dancing. When her feet had begun to ache and her back began to protest, from repeatedly lifting her arms, and doing ridiculous back-bends. She'd sat herself down along one of the banquette tables, amongst all the food and sweets, admiring her people as they laughed and drank and ate.

All things considered, she was most impressed with her dress - it was more flexible than she'd realised. It hadn't even ripped, despite the fast sharp movements she'd been making along the cobblestones, and the children that had clung to her. Sephora had also been pleasantly surprised with the Shadow's dancing skills. Ravyn had danced with whoever she could get her hands on, some young males, a shy elderly female, she'd even a spun a few children around - all the while grinning from ear-to-ear, looking like she'd never been so happy in her life.

Sephora herself felt much better, her soul felt lighter than it had been all day, and for a few moments she felt at peace and didn't even

"This is pathetic, Ravyn - tell me where he is. I have something important to ask him." Sephora cut her off, getting impatient with her excuses. The Shadows eyes went wide, "No!" She protested, and immediately quieted her alarmed tone, "He can't be allowed to see you tonight, he'll never forgive himself if anything happened to you."Ravyn even looked fearful. But Sephora didn't care, she'd had enough. She had no idea what the Shadow was going on about - it was just celebration, why would anything 'happen' to her. The Shadow was being unreasonable, and refusing to tell her where her mate was. The fact that she even had the nerve to be making these excuses, made Sephora's anger flare, it seemed the Shadow had forgotten that Sephora was Lady - and she wanted to know where her mate was. Mustering her strength and anger, Sephora brought down her mask of steel and menace."Where. Is. Ambrose." Sephora demanded. Ravyn's blue eyes were still wide, and she even looked slightly paler, as she ga

She hadn't forgotten the way Vince had looked her up and down, during their first meeting. The way he'd flirted with her. The way he'd made an offer to her to stay at his court, if and when, Ambrose had 'tired' of her. Sephora was absolutely furious with Ambrose and his behavior, and was still suspicious of Ravyn - enough that it would definitely work to her advantage with the dark Lord. It was time to see if that offer of his, was a genuine one, or if it was all just a bluff.Sephora entered the throne room, and walked with long graceful strides, over to the door of adamant stone. She'd finally read up, what the black mist behind the door was. It was in fact a portal - a rip in the world, that bent and fluctuated under the host's will, so it could take you to where ever you wanted within Igritann, to a point. It had been crafted by the teleporting Lord Daemon himself.Sephora halted before the door and splayed her hand against the cold smooth stone. She wasn't a Lord of stone, but she

Sephora took a deep breath. Reminding herself she was doing this for her people, that they needed information on Vince's plans. If Ravyn had come up with nothing through spying, then Sephora had to get it through other means. This was necessary. She could do this, she wouldn't allow herself to be intimidated or afraid - she wouldn't be afraid. So Sephora squared her shoulders, well aware she was still in her gold and silver evening dress. Perhaps that could also work in her favor, she told herself. Before her, Vince's grin widened, and so Sephora took a step forward. The Lady of light walked up the the Lord of darkness, with her shoulders back and her head held high. And watched the Lord give a low bow, before straightening and offering her a large, tanned hand. Sephora took his hand without hesitation, marveling at how someone who lived in shadows and darkness, could be so tanned - maybe he could let her father in on a few pointers of how he did it. But Sephora quickly shut out the t

The Lord looked down at her, brows high,"So concerned with my sleeping habits, my Lady - whatever will your beloved mate think?" He smirked, as Sephora glared at him."You know what I'm getting at." She replaced the glowing star back amongst the others. She looked back at the handsome Lord. "You were waiting for me in the hallway, how did you know I was coming?" Sephora questioned.Vince shrugged, "I'm a Lord, I'm supposed to know these things." He gave a wicked smile, "Especially when a beautiful young female is in need of my assistance." His eyes sparked with mischief and Sephora snorted, despite herself."That's not an answer." She protested. And using his avoidance of her question to her advantage, she sighed and added, "All you Lords are the same, always hiding things from me - why can't you just be honest with me?"Vince instantly took the b

"Leave that to me." Sephora smiled, and began to head for the door, Vince quietly followed. And just because he would trust her more, and it was the truth, she turned to him and said, "I believe in your dream, too, Vince. I had to leave my family behind. They probably think I'm dead, and my brother who is only 5 - has had to live in fear all his life. If there is a way to change the veil-stones, I will do anything I can to help."Vince gave a sad smile, and nodded, "Thank you."He pushed the door open for her, and lead her down the dark corridors once again, until they came to an archway - filled with swirling black mist and shadows. A portal. They stopped before it and Vince picked up Sephora's hand, to gently kiss the back of it."Until, we meet again." Vince dropped her hand, and gave Sephora a smooth bow.She smiled and offered him a curtsy, "Good evening, my Lord."And with that, the Lady of light turned her back on the Lord of darkness, and stepped into the portal.Sephora arriv

Sephora woke up nice and early, despite only getting 5 hours sleep, thanks to her little nightly escapade. She dragged herself out of bed and down to the fighting pit, expecting to be greeted by the beautiful face of her mate - to find that it wasn't Ambrose who was waiting for her, but Joe.Sephora couldn't deny the bitter disappointment that arose at the thought that he was still avoiding her. Especially when Joe began eyeing her wearily as she approached. She sighed and jumped down into the pit, red dust emitting from her feet as she landed. She glared at the General before her,"Stop looking at me like that." She snapped at him. Still furious at him for when he'd blocked her path to her mate. And then, for when he'd disappeared without an explanation, leaving Sephora wondering what she'd done wrong.Joe wisely let his gaze soften, and he even looked apologetic, eyes downcast at the floor. He began to speak, Sephora could practically see the string of excuses forming from his mouth

Ravyn noticed Sephora eyeing out the piano, and smiled a little. Sephora witnessed that smile, and humbled herself enough to admit,"I used to play the piano with my mother." She told the Shadow. Instantly wishing her mother were here to play with her now. Sephora quickly pushed the feeling away - it was too painful. But there was understanding in the Shadow's eyes, and the smile disappeared, "I'm sorry."Sephora frowned, "What for?""That you were taken from your family." Ravyn's face was so full of anguish and sorrow. That Sephora felt like she'd been punched in the stomach for ever disliking the female. And the way she'd said it -"You know what that feels like?" Sephora's question was tentative, as though trying not to upset the Shadow further.Ravyn shook her head, tears already swelling in the depths of those blue eyes. "My mother died giving birth to me." She whispered. Sephora was stunned into silence. "I have no idea what she looked like, except that she had blue eyes like mi

Sephora didn't know why she was so surprised. It explained so much, how the Shadow and her mate were such close friends, how they seemed to have this unspoken understanding between the two of them. Sephora was just mostly relieved, because it lead her to hope - that maybe there was nothing really going on between her Lord and his Shadow.Sephora lifted her legs up onto the sofa and crossed them beneath her, leaning forward slightly as she clarified, "Ambrose got you out?" Urging the Shadow to carry on with her story.Ravyn seemed to understand the hint and nodded with that gentle smile, "Ambrose spotted me just after his mother's death. I was there to collect information for Vince, on how she'd died - when Ambrose approached me and saw how pale I was, how thin. Honestly, he told me straight out, that I looked like death warmed up." Ravyn huffed a laugh, "A really flattering thing to say to a female, don't you think?"Despite herself, and the jarring story she was hearing, Sephora's mo

The seven of them stood around the twin pyres in silence, watching the flames climb high into the sky, the wood splitting and crackling under the heat. The yellow of the flames reflected in each of their faces, sorrow and loss weighing down their steady gazes.Lady Valda's eyes were ringed with red once again, only this time the tears did not fall - she would never cry in the presence of Lord Rhonan, regardless of how she felt toward Lance and Megan. No, she had already cried in front of Sephora and Lord Daemon when she'd come out from seeing the healer, and that had been enough for the Winged Lady. There had been worry as to why her wing still hadn't healed 12 hours after she'd been hit by Vince's spear of darkness. Turns out he hadn't just shot through her bone in her wing, but through some vital arteries as well. Her accelerated healing had stopped her from bleeding out altogether, but in doing so had stopped the blood getting to the important muscles in her wing that helped her to

AmbroseHis body trembled, his grazed and bloodied hands shaking. He wasn't entirely sure how he was still standing, not just from the exhaustion in his body, but from what he'd just witnessed - what his mate had just done. He'd been battling with Vince relentlessly, the sly devil had always been quick where he might have lacked power. But where Vince lacked power in his physical side - he'd more than made up for in his tactics and the strength of his Soulborn power. That hideous darkness had hit Ambrose again and again, obliterating several of his obsidian shields before Ambrose could even get close enough to scratch the dark Lord. And all the while, Ambrose had been bellowing for Sephora down their bond. Trying to warn her about the shard of veil-stone, that it would kill her, that he couldn't lose her again, not again. He could endure anything else but losing her.Because if Sephora died, there was nothing to stop this new side of Ambrose dying as well - the side that only his mate

Only to be stopped by a blazing sheild of fire. The same sheild of fire she'd once used to stop Ambrose from falling to his death by the cove, Sephora now used it to sheild her family and her people from that toxic Igritann atmosphere.A small part of her trembled though, at the knowledge of what she was doing, at what she was sacrificing for her people. • My Alpha From Hell   The Dawn

Sephora let out a piercing scream of grief and rage as she watched that pink red Veil slowly ripple away like a wave drawing back into the sea. All sense and reason vanished from her mind as her knees buckled from beneath her and the world swayed from under her feet. She vaguely heard Ambrose roaring from behind her, followed by the clashing of steel. Lady Valda was crumpled in a heap on the bloodied ground, Lord Daemon's face was pale as he ran for her. Ravyn was still crouched over Joe, blood continuing to gurgle from the General's chest, his lips turning a feint shade of purple. But none of that mattered now. With tears streaming down her face, Sephora burst into a sprint with all her strength, toward the broken remains of the Veil-Stones.Massive, pale opal-like boulders and rocks lay scattered everywhere, armoured limbs left slightly exposed beneath them from where Ambrose's men had been too slow to get out of the way. [Ambrose]The Lord of mountains sprinted toward the dark Lord with a earth rumbling growl. Not even waiting for Sephora to give the order to attack, before Ambrose was summoning spears of diamond and obsidian to his hands and hurling them with all his immortal strength.Vince had barely enough time to respond, before his grey eyes went wide and he dodged, summoning shields of black mist to block the oncoming attacks. After 500 years of knowing each other, they both knew how each other moved, knew how powerful each other's Soulborn power was.So it was hardly a surprise to see the fear flickering behind the dark Lord's eyes, hidden carefully behind that serpentine grin of his. He knew what Ambrose was capable of doing, knew what kind of terrors he could achieve with his power.Ambrose was barely holding that side of him at bay. The mere sight of Vince, already stirring his rage into something dark and wild.Punches and cannon balls of flame shot past Ambrose, their heat and intensity en

[Ravyn]The Shadow of Queen Sephora Beltane and Lord Ambrose Stone, laughed as she thrust both her blades into the stomachs of Vince's soldiers, not even waiting for their corpses to fall, before she moved onto the next. She was a whirling mist of death and fury. Fighting for her freedom, her people, an entire race who had no idea just how much the Queen loved them. And now, they stood a chance at winning - now the odds didn't look so impossible.Reinforcements had come. They had finally come, and boy - did Lady Valda train her legion well.Winged warriors, male and female alike, dropped from the skies like fallen angels. Scooping up grown men into the air, taking off and dropping them like a stone, or barreling them into a group of dark soldiers. Their incredible feathered wings tucked in tight, as some of them wielded swords or spears, their movements swift and graceful, despite the weight on their backs. They were a force to be reckoned with.It fired up Ravyn's own spirits enough,

[Sephora]The sky was still darkened with what seemed like a cloud of infinite smoke and death. The tidal wave of Vince's men continued to slam into Sephora and Ambrose's defenses. Though they were holding strong, a line of silver holding back the inky black darkness - the line was beginning to crumble and the men were starting to tire. They couldn't hold this up forever, something had to give. But they had no reinforcements. No reinforcements were coming to their aid.Over the sounds of battle cries and the screams of dying males and females, Sephora tried to wrap her mind around what that meant about the fate Veil-Stones. And more importantly, what it would mean for her family's fate, the fate of the Mortal world.Neither could she think of a solution. Those extra armies were all they had as a plan of defense, and now...Sephora's bloodied hands began shaking again, that familiar fear and hopelessness was beginning to paralyze her once again. New doubts began swimming around in her

"I'm worried for Sephora and Ambrose." She confessed, surprised that she'd chosen to be honest with the General for once.Even Joe seemed to be surprised, his eyebrows raising a little, before forcing a light smile, "And what about me - you're not worried about me?"Ravyn couldn't help but roll her eyes, "No, I'm definitely not worried about you."Joe chuckled, "So cold, even to the end." His mouth twitched with laughter, but his smile didn't quite reach his eyes. "And what if I was to die tragically, heroically killed in battle? Would you still n
