Johnson’s POV

I rushed out of the auction house, my heart hammering in my chest. I had to get away from these men and to the border before they did. But as I ran down an alley that would lead me to my car, I saw something that stopped me dead in my tracks.

Jake and his men. They were at the end of the alley, crowded around a figure on the ground. I watched, horrified, as they kicked and beat the woman. And even more horrifying, there were two police men not even five feet away. At first, I was certain that the police would intervene. I mean, it was the POLICE after all. But the police did nothing. They only stood by and watched as Jake and his men kicked the figure on the ground.

Cautiously, I took a few steps towards the men and the figure on the ground. It realized it was a woman – a woman who looked an awful lot like Trista!

“No!” I hollered, rushing towards them, overcome with fear. Had they found Trista? Had she been here after all? It was possible! Maybe she hadn’t left yet. Or

  • My Alpha Ex-Husband Regrets   Chapter 286: Level Heads

Trista’s POV I had to admit, the fact that Liam’s father had gone to council meeting DID seem like he was up to something. But challenging Liam for his power? I felt like Hazel was jumping to conclusions. And it was only feeding Liam’s anger. Liam took Hazel’s words to heart. His face contorted into a look of anger.“If he’s here to try to take my pack away from me,” Liam seethed. “I swear to the Moon Goddess, I’ll challenge him to an alpha fight myself. This is MY pack. He better back off, or he’ll wish he had.” Liam stood up from the table abruptly and went to the window, his back turned to us. He was silent, but both Hazel and I knew that he was upset. Anger wasn’t going to help us get to the bottom of this. We needed to keep a level head.“Liam,” I said softly. “Please, just take a moment and calm down. We don’t know anything for sure at this point. We need to think about why this is happening." "But that’s the problem, Tris

  • My Alpha Ex-Husband Regrets   Chapter 285: Council Meeting

Trista’s POV “Mama?” I opened my eyes and squinted. Billy and Belle were standing at the door, holding hands. The sun was streaming in through the window. I felt groggy. What time was it? I rolled over and glanced at my clock. 11:00am? How had I slept that long? Oh my goodness. How long had Billy and Belle been awake? They must be starving by now. Hazel and I had stayed up really late chatting. It had felt so good, finally telling her all the things I’d been keeping bottled up inside of me. I knew I could trust her, and she’d listened patiently, reassuring me that everything was going to be okay. When I’d finally gone to bed, I’d fallen asleep right away. It had been a deep sleep, undisturbed by the nightmares that had been plaguing me. Nightmares of a white beast, being hunted and stabbed by a group of men, all of them with Carlos’ face. I’d been waking up every night, cover

  • My Alpha Ex-Husband Regrets   Chapter 284: Confiding in a Friend

Trista’s POV Hazel was deep in thought, clearly trying to collect her thoughts. I gave her time to think before she spoke. “Don’t you think it’s strange that Felicity and Sven just randomly appeared, out of nowhere, completely unannounced and demanded to see all the old contracts?” Hazel asked. “Yes,” I replied. “It felt like a sudden decision, to clean up all the old contracts.” “And at the same time that Carlos just suddenly appears at our pack?” Hazel asked. I paused. I was starting to connect the dots, just like Hazel. There was definitely something strange going on here.“That does seem like a coincidence,” I told her. “Too much of a coincidence if you ask me,” she said, shaking her head. “What are you saying?” I asked. “I think they might be linked,” she replied. “The old contracts and Carlos’ sudden appearance.” I thought about this for a moment. It did make sense. F

  • My Alpha Ex-Husband Regrets   Chapter 283: A Long Talk Between Friends

Trista’s POV After Hazel and I put Billy and Belle to bed, we went and sat outside with a glass of wine. “Thanks for letting me stay here,” Hazel sighed. “Carlos had taken over my room. I can’t even stand the thought of sharing a room with him. He’s such an asshole.” “He sure is,” I agreed. The night air was cool and still. Sounds of other people laughing and chatting echoed through the pack. It was a familiar sound to me, night at the pack. I realized that I’d missed it all these years. There was something special about the pack at night, an easiness and calmness that came from being far away from the lights and sounds of the city. “You can reject him,” I told her. She took a long sip of her wine and sighed heavily. “It’s not that easy,” she replied. “Rejections never are, but you deserve better. You can reject him and divorce him. I know you think you’re doing the honorable thing by staying married to him. Tr

  • My Alpha Ex-Husband Regrets   Chapter 282: Hazel’s Fight

Trista’s POV After a long afternoon of playing pretend, I went back to my guest house to cook the children dinner. I was riddled with anxiety, but I didn’t want to bring it into the house. I just wanted to have a nice, calm, relaxing dinner with Billy and Belle and try to forget about all the stress I had swelling up inside of me. Billy and Belle sat at the kitchen table, peeling garlic for me. It was a tedious task, and one I always chose for them since it kept them busy while I cooked. “Mama,” Billy said. “Belle got more cloves to peel than me.” I flashed him a smile and set down some more cloves of garlic. It was way more than I needed, but they loved peeling the frail skin off the cloves. I chopped carrots for the stew I was making and felt myself relaxing a bit. Cooking for my children was something I always enjoyed. And they’d been eating so many sweets, thanks to Felicity, so I was happy to make them a nice, nutritious dinn

  • My Alpha Ex-Husband Regrets   Chapter 281: Princess Mommy

Trista’s POV For a few minutes, I didn’t say anything as I processed what I’d just learned. I felt dismayed knowing that both Sven and Alpha Lemone had been in business together and were both involved with Blue Orchid. It felt like almost too much to deal with at the time, and I didn’t want to argue anymore. I was starting to feel emotionally drained, and I wanted to see my children. So I politely excused myself and went out to the playground to find Billy and Belle. Belle was sitting quietly on a grassy patch making a crown out of flowers. She still didn’t have the strength to climb the ropes the way that Billy did. I smiled when I saw them, my beautiful babes. Everything I had done in the past five years had been for them, to give them a nice, stable life. But now here we were, at Blue Moon Crescent Pack, hiding out from dangerous men. I still didn’t know why Johnson was lurking outside the pack borders. Just as I didn’t know if he was hur
