Can I?

Hearing those questions from Lucia made him smile. He raised Lucia's chin with his cute hands and said, “so you can pay for my damaged car with the money I will pay you, right?” he asked and gave her a dangerous and wicked look. The girl stood for secs without a word.

“ That is…” she interrupted. “ I caused the accident, so I really want to pay for the damage because I do not want to go to jail” “please do not take me to jail, I am the only child” she started crying. 

“ if I should tell you that I forgive you, and you don't have to pay anything, you won't offer yourself to keep me company?  right?”

Lucia was surprised, but she was quick to realize that it is a “what if” scenario that he was describing. But could he be testing her resolve ? 

Lucia looked straight into his eyes to see if he was joking, but unfortunately, he was damn serious. Was he looking for a way to just dismiss her or what? It was obvious that he doesn't want her to pay for the damages but why. Lucia was beautiful and hardworking. And everyone would want her as a staff, why then was he rejecting her. On a second note, he spoke to her gently like nothing happened unlike the way he speaks to people including his ex.

“If you forgive me, I will so much appreciate it, but I still want to be your staff” the girl didn't give up, she was just displaying her stubborn attitude. 

Derek was speechless when he heard her. To him, she was possessed. He remembered how many girls wanted him but ones he turns them down, they walk away without any word coming from their mouth. All the girls feared him even if they deny it, he could sense it in them but how could this little girl be this fearless, I wonder how long that will last. 

“ Tell me little girl, why do you really want to work for me?” he asked, his eyes looking at her without blinking waiting for her answer.

“ Why… why can't I be? You tell me, why are you really refusing me? If you can allow people to work for You, What happened to me?" 

Scott who was behind was really enjoying the scene, so he decided not to stop the show, but instead he laughed at every word that sounded funny and, of course, he wouldn't want Derek to see him, if not. He should be ready to dig his grave.

“ I don't know why you have refused to give me a chance, I can be your caretaker, I could take good care of you. I'm not lazy, i am hardworking. At least, you should try me. I am not  like..... she gazed at him. “ I mean I am not a lazy person and I know I am not that bad compared to your workers.” Lucia spoke so brave because she was high in adrenaline. Her grandparents had always praised her, telling her how beautiful she looks. That gave her the confidence that she was actually a beautiful girl. She never knew she was this bold, not until she met this emotionless man. 

At that moment, the man just stood there watching her speak, his eyes as unreadable as ever. He looked at her right to her eyes and then a smile came out. Lucia was fast to know that the smile didn't reach his eyes, she knew that he had given a wicked smile as usual.

He leaned in on her, not breaking their eye contact. His breathtaking face closer to hers as if they were going to have a romantic kiss. Lucia felt every breath of his, the moment was so wonderful that she could wish that her first and last kiss should come from him. 

He was so close that his breath drifted over her face, leaving her dumbstruck. 

“Lucia Mike” he uttered her complete name. “ You are right, I remember you told me that you can show me how attracted you can be, so, if you are my caretaker, what can you do?  I might as well give you a chance to at least prove yourself to me” his smiled. His eyes were still on hers as his finger went through her Hair, and he then leaned away.

No matter how hard she tried, she still couldn't read anything from him. His enchanting cent left Lucia speechless after he lean away which got her speechless.

Somehow, Lucia managed to react, not letting his spell take over her heart and mind completely.

“ Mmm I will show you "she said as she raised her chin, showing him how courageous and serious she was. The man was speechless for some minutes and only had to chuckle again. 

“ okay, you may go back to your car now little girl before you will cause another accident by leaving your car at the middle of the road. Or probably, someone might try avoid hitting your car and as well hit mine. Maybe this time you would say you were trying parking your car well or you might say it's not your fault. He smiled his wicked smile as usual.

“Oops” she immediately ran towards her car, but before she could open the door, she remembered something. “Please wait”she said. It appeared that the car was already on the road, still working and ready to move.

“ Wait, are you certain that your car can take you home”

“ don't worry miss, this car is tough" Scott replied and gave her a light smile.

Her gazed then returned to Derek, who was walking towards the car seat when she ran towards him. “ Please give me your number “. 

He grinned his teeth. He stopped, Without looking back at her, he lifted his hands as a signal for her to give him her phone, which she did. 

After some seconds, he handed the phone back to her without still turning to look at her. Lucia saw that he had actually typed a number, so she dialed it just to be sure.

He brought out his phone, showing her the screen and when Lucia saw that, she was so excited.

“ I will send you a message of where and when to resume”. He said and walked inside the car. They all drove to their separate ways.
