Chapter 557

Author: Autumn Rain
Dustin was unfazed after Elijah had been beheaded.

The Wyatt sisters all reacted differently. One was crying desperately, one had fainted, and another one cursed Dustin. Dustin did not care either way.

He was not interested in dealing with Elijah’s body, either. Amara could settle that herself.

“You will die in the same way as Eli one day!” Amara said viciously.

“I’ll be waiting. I hope you actually find a way to follow through,” Dustin said indifferently.

Among the four Wyatt sisters, Amara was the eldest and always acted high and mighty. She gave the orders and thought of herself as the smartest.

Dustin did not think she was all that impressive.

Rather, it was Clara who played her cards more closely and was more likely to succeed in life. However, whether she could get to a height to challenge Dustin remained to be seen.

As for the other three sisters, they were spoiled and posed no threat to Dustin. They were even more useless than ordinary, powerless people.

With Wilhelm dead, Dustin was at a dead end. Dustin had been ready to reunite with Diana and had been looking forward to it every day. To respect Wilhelm’s request, Dustin had not sent any elite fighters to tail him. He never imagined that the waiting would result in Wilhelm’s death. He should have sent someone to follow Wilhelm, even if that meant he had to go against his word. At this point, however, he only wanted to know what had happened. “Please calm down, Mr. Fox. You can’t bring him back to life,” one of the Martial Saints of the North Border branch of the black market said. “There’s something fishy about our leader’s death. By the time the Hattan branch received his distress signal and rushed over, our leader was already dead.” “Who went with him?” Dustin asked with a frown. Wilhelm could not fight, which was unusual when it came to leaders of the black market. Still, he must have had an elite fighter accompanying him wherever he went. The fighter had to be ver

It was a bright and sunny day, and there were no clouds in the sky or wind in the trees. Dustin got out of the car and took a deep breath. Only then did he relax a little. He was back in Rivenesco. The message that Wilhelm had left needed to be decoded, and that required some time. Once it was done, Dustin would rush back. At this point, he also wanted to return to Rivenesco to check on Simone and her family. It had been a long time since he had seen her, and he kind of missed her. “Dustin, you’re back!” Simone’s family all came to welcome him when they found out that he had returned. “David, Monique, Simone, I’m back!” Dustin treated them the way he would his family and smiled warmly at them. David and Monique asked after him, while Simone looked askance at Dustin. She looked a bit sad. “You’ve gotten thinner,” she said softly. “Have I?” Dustin grinned. Their eyes met, and the tension rose up between them. Right then, three cars drove in. More of the Langley

“Even if the agreement has to be broken off, I should be the one to do it. No matter what, you shouldn’t have to go to the Douglas family to face that danger,” David said seriously. Dustin wanted to say something more, but David raised a hand to stop him. “Listen to me, Dustin. I will deal with this. If you make a move secretly, I will be very mad.” Dustin could do nothing more about this. Since this was David’s decision, he could not intervene any further. After all, Simone’s branch of the family did not know who he was, and he did not want to reveal anything just yet. Dustin already faced a lot of danger going up against the Divine Hall. Thus, he would have less to worry about if the people around him did not know too much. He prepared to send someone over to work on the Douglas family before David went. That way, the matter would be solved much easier by the time David got there. Margot’s phone started ringing. After she answered it, she looked aggrieved. “The

Keller entered the Langley family villa. He wanted to take Simone with him that very day. “The timing works out. I want to meet the newly hired members of the company, and you can come along as well. After all, you will be their boss, too,” Keller said with a smile. “I…” Simone looked hesitant. She did not really want to go with Keller. “Dustin can come along as well. We’re all young, so we should get to know each other. We can be friends and have a friendly competition. Of course, it should be a peaceful one.” Keller made sure to invite Dustin. “Simone has not been feeling well in the past couple of days. Dustin, you should go with her and help look out for her,” Monique said to Dustin. Dustin raised an eyebrow but did not say anything else. The unexpected thing was that Keller actually encouraged Dustin to come along. He was not worried that Dustin would be a third wheel at all. Naturally, Dustin would not allow Simone to leave with Keller alone. He wanted to se

How could someone like Dustin possibly compete with Keller? The difference between them was simply too stark. “Dustin Fox…” Only Gavin’s gaze paused on Dustin for a while, and he frowned. “What is it? Do you know Dustin?” Keller asked with a smile. “I remember now!” Gavin said and reacted as though he had just had an epiphany. “He’s Riverside High’s Casanova!” When Dustin heard this, he shot Gavin a look. Was Gavin really a high school classmate that he had forgotten? “What’s this about Riverside High’s Casanova? Tell us!” Everyone was intrigued. “This is one of the famous stories from Riverside High. It’s still talked about in the school’s forum and is pinned,” Gavin said with a smile. “I graduated two years before Dustin, so I can be considered his senior, but I’ve always heard of his reputation. Dustin’s really quite famous. “Back then, he was one of the top students. However, he gave up on the chance to get into a top university without hesitation for a

Everyone in the private room was laughing except for Simone and Dustin. They were laughing so hard that some were even breathless from it. The laughter was mocking. Dustin was not known for being mild-tempered. There was no way he would remain unaffected by other people laughing at him. “Do you think it’s very funny?” he asked coldly. Seeing how peculiar he looked, the others finally stopped laughing. “Do you think it’s hilarious to make fun of someone’s past?” Simone asked in displeasure. There was no way that she did not notice the way in which these people were making fun of Dustin and laughing at him. Since Simone would very likely be their future boss, the employees all exchanged glances with each other. “Miss Simone, I think you misunderstood. We didn’t mean to tease him,” Gavin said quickly. “Honestly, I really admire Dustin. Very few people can go as far as him.” “That’s right, Simone. They didn’t mean it that way. You misunderstood,” Keller said with a s

“That doesn’t mean you can just attack someone! That’s against the law!” the same person said angrily. “Well, I already did. What now?” Dustin was unfazed. The man was livid. “You have no respect for the law! You will be punished for your crimes!” someone else yelled. “That’s right! Let’s see if you’re still so bold once you’re behind bars!” another person added. Dustin only scoffed. He decided that he might as well attack again. No one could see his attack clearly. In the blink of an eye, everyone was on the floor with swollen faces. “Ouch!” “Ahhh!!! It hurts so much!” Everyone was quite badly hurt, and they howled in pain. The ones who had made the most comments were badly hurt and suffered the most pain. Everyone looked at Dustin in fear. They were scared of Dustin. They had never met as vicious a person as Dustin before. No person simply attacked out of nowhere without any concern for the law. “Dustin, how could you attack them?” Keller’s att

“You’ll be alright, won’t you, Dustin?” Simone asked with some concern as she approached Dustin. She felt that these people all got what they deserved, but she knew that Dustin’s actions would indeed come with consequences. “You might be surprised at how things turn out,” said Dustin and smiled. Simone was a little surprised. The calm and unbothered way Dustin reacted confused Gavin and the others thoroughly. “We’ll see if you’ll still be smiling when the police get here!” Gavin yelled. “He’s only pretending to keep his cool. He must be shaking in his boots!” someone said with gritted teeth. Keller’s face was stony. He had never been hit by anyone before. As an exceptional person who had completed his tertiary education overseas and whose family was rich and powerful, he always maintained the grace of an elite person. Yet, a poor punk like Dustin had kicked him in the butt. This was a moment of great humiliation for him. After all, he was part of the family that

The main family was powerful, and it was hard for the branch family to compete because they were much weaker. David did not want to cause any conflict or stir up trouble. Just as David was about to stop Dustin, Simone held him back. “Dad, things have come to this. We should trust Dustin,” Simone said softly. “The main family is being unreasonable. Why should we still be respectful?” David looked resigned. “Simone, it’s not that I don’t trust Dustin, but we can’t win against them.” “Dad, I believe in him. He’s never let me down.” Simone smiled. David paused, then fell silent. At this moment, the Langley family finally understood what Dustin had said and started laughing. “This is ridiculous! You want to fight for the position of the patriarch of this family? Who do you think you are?” one of the main family members said mockingly. A young woman who was moderately beautiful laughed the hardest. Her gaze was full of disdain. “Who do you think you are? How could you e

At Conan’s command, over a dozen fighters rushed in. These were not ordinary people. They knew how to fight. It was unclear if they were prepared to deal with Dustin. “Simone, take your parents and step back,” Dustin said calmly. David looked worried. He did not want things to escalate like this. “Dad, it’s already come to this. Let’s just trust Dustin to handle it,” Simone said reassuringly. David sighed and stepped back reluctantly. None of them doubted Dustin’s abilities. After all, he had once easily rescued Simone from kidnappers. “Young man, if you admit to your mistake, there’s still time to stop this,” Conan said coldly. “I expected more from the main family,” Dustin said dismissively. Conan’s face darkened. He waved his hand, and the fighters charged. Dustin did not even take them seriously. He moved quickly and darted past them like a whirlwind. Bam! Bam! Bam! The fighters were sent flying and crashed into everything around them. Some main family m

The butler left. After a while, Dustin and his group arrived at the Langley family villa’s living room. “You must be David Langley, right?” Conan, the patriarch of the Langley family, sat in the main seat and looked at them with a serious and commanding look. His gaze focused mainly on David. “It’s an honor to meet you, Conan,” David said and bowed politely. “How dare you!” someone from the main Langley family shouted angrily. “You can’t address the patriarch by his name!” They glared at David and yelled at him for being disrespectful. “I am the patriarch of the Langley family. Know your place!” Conan said coldly. David’s face froze. “My apologies. I was out of line.” David bowed again. Dustin watched all of this, and his face darkened. Originally, he and Simone’s family had come to Hattan just to deal with the issue between the main branch and the off-shoot families of the Langley family. As long as they handed over the box, he was not planning to get involved.

Dustin and David spent the day at the oriental garden villa. “David, Monique, there’s no need for all this formality. Just treat it like your own home,” Dustin said with a smile as he was amused by their reactions. David and Monique were both awkward and unsure in the villa and avoided touching anything or exploring the space. They refused when the servants offered to help and insisted on doing everything themselves. Although Simone seemed a little more relaxed, she was still quite uncomfortable with the idea of being waited on by so many people. “We couldn’t possibly treat it like our own place. This is their home. We’re just staying here as guests,” David said awkwardly. Dustin felt helpless. He had not told them that the luxury villa was already under his name. It was a gift from Skyler, and he had done the paperwork secretly. Dustin had no choice but to accept it. Since they had just arrived in Hattan and had not found a place to stay yet, Dustin did not wan

“They’re decent people. You can trust them. If anything comes up in Hattan, feel free to ask for their help,” Dustin said and told them to introduce themselves. “My name is Brian Lee. I work at the Hattan Provincial Administrative Center. I’m a humble civil servant. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to let me know. I’m happy to help.” A man stepped forward. “I’m Dennis Copper. I run a small business in Hattan with a decent reputation. I look forward to serving you in the future,” said another man as he introduced himself. “I’m Sebastian Fowler. I manage a few people, mostly for hauling and transportation. If you need anything, just say the word...” Each person came forward to greet David and his family with great courtesy and offered to help them in any way possible. Their warm welcome left David and Monique speechless. They could only smile in response. “Gentlemen and ladies, you will stay in the villa behind me. It’s fully equipped with all the necessary amenities, an

“Dustin, which friend of yours are we meeting?” David asked curiously inside the taxi. He had never heard of Dustin’s friends in Hattan before. “Just… a regular friend,” Dustin said awkwardly. The truth was, he had never met this person before and did not even know their name. “But… wouldn’t it be rude to show up unannounced?” David asked in concern. “David, don’t worry. He owes me a favor and is eager to return it,” said Dustin and chuckled. David and Monique relaxed. The area grew more luxurious as the taxi moved forward. They passed through the city center of Hattan and into a vast and luxurious villa district. “Wait… Your friend lives in a villa district in the heart of Hattan?!” David exclaimed in surprise. Hattan was one of the most prosperous cities in all of Lovellia. It was second only to Central Harbor. Property prices here were astronomical and often reached millions. Villas in the central area were even more exclusive. Whoever lived here was no

“Apologize!” Dustin tightened his grip again. “F*ck...” Archer cursed. Crack! Dustin frowned and twisted Archer’s hand. It snapped Archer’s wrist completely. The scream that followed was high-pitched and unbearable. Dustin released him, and the latter collapsed to the ground before curling into a ball. “Dustin... you... ahhh!!!” David sighed. He had not expected Dustin to act so decisively and break Archer’s hand without hesitation. Dustin was just standing up for his family. Archer had been infuriating. So, David merely sighed instead of blaming him. “David, respect is earned, not given for free,” Dustin said seriously. “Since the main family looks down on us so much, I don’t think we need to worry too much about their opinion while we’re in Hattan.” David remained silent in thought. Perhaps he was also considering whether the branch family should stop enduring the main family’s repeated humiliation. “You... How dare you... Do you have a death wish?” Archer

“What did you say? How could you say a thing like that?” Monique demanded angrily. “Archer, no matter what, I’m still your elder. Can’t you speak more politely?” said David because he could not hold back his frustration. “Polite?” Archer sneered coldly as his face filled with contempt and disdain. “You people who split from the family are nothing but parasites of the Langley family. Every time you come, it’s either for money or something else. Look at what you’ve made of yourselvesF!! in the poor and desolate West! You’ve brought shame to the Langley family! And you are asking me to be polite to you? “Ha! Do you think you deserve that? If it weren’t for the elders of the family and their orders, do you think you’d be qualified enough for me to personally come and pick you up?” Archer stood tall and afforded no respect for David’s family in the slightest. His words were harsh and insulting. “People from the branch family like you only deserve to stay here. You’re not worth

Dustin said nothing. Whether the box’s contents held material value or not, the main Langley family would undoubtedly treat it as a prized relic. It was unlikely they would give it up easily. Some unconventional methods might be necessary. After packing up, the family boarded a flight to Hattan at dawn. It was almost noon by the time they landed. “I’ve already contacted the main family. They said they’d send someone to pick us up,” David said. The group waited for quite some time outside the airport with their luggage but saw no sign of anyone. An hour passed, then another. “Where’s the person picking us up? Why aren’t they here yet?” Monique complained impatiently. David tried calling again but the line never connected. “Maybe they’re delayed on their way here,” he said helplessly. Dustin’s expression remained indifferent. Was this their way of making a statement right from the start? “David, why don’t we go to my friend’s place? I have some conne
