Chapter-4 Thirst of Revenge

*Angelina's POV*

It had been days since I was in prince Kivvi's residence. Though he never wronged me, I could feel he had no interest in me. My wolf was pained by his coldness. But for me, it didn't affect me much. I knew that he would reject me, and I wish to gladly accept it. However, there was no news of him these days. I wasn't even allowed to meet him. Today was my another attempt to meet him, but the guards turned me away.

I was returning home when I heard some whisper. The familiar back caught me off guard. It was him, Ryan! My body heated up with anger. I hated the fact that he was still living peacefully while harming others' lives. An unexpected voice dazed me.

"Are these all?" 

I wouldn't misremember it. It's princess Arianna's voice. Curiosity struck me, I decided to get closer to hear them. Their voices were now clear to me.

"I gathered all the information I could. I am sure these are all. Moon Shadow pack is also preparing for attack…"

I was stunned by what I heard. Did he sell out his pack? For what? Money?

Ryan asked bewitched, "Can we mate tonight?"

Disgust surged over me. He was actually used by his enemy because of his lust? It felt laughable. Knowing that, it would be dangerous to listen more, I was going away. But a part of me wished to use this opportunity to take my revenge on him. I hid my scent and went to a safe distance. My slender fingers made their way to the pockets. I reached out to my phone and started recording.

"Not tonight. I haven't confirmed if the information you gave is true or false. After I have checked it, I will surely reward you."

"Sure. I am certain that the Moon Shadow pack is training warriors to prepare for the war. But right now the situation is too dreadful for them. There is corruption in the court too." Ryan stuttered impatiently.

"I believe you." Arianna gave a seductive smile and left.

I put off the recorder and went away. I knew where to go with this evidence. I hesitated no moment to reach to go to my mate. Though he doesn't see me as my mate, he still is the next Alpha. He will surely take care of this situation.

Again the guards held me back.

"Please return, Miss. The prince is busy." One of the guards said.

"I know he is busy. But what if I have an important matter to discuss with him, which concerns the safety of the pack? Is he too busy to even check the situation out?" I said it loudly, making sure he could hear my words.

"Please don't make it hard for us." He said, showing me to leave the place.

I nodded, and agreed, "Fine, I will leave. Since an important matter can't concern your prince, it's better to not think about it either. It's not even my pack." I turned out to leave.

The voice I have been looking forward to hearing, stopped me, "You can come in. But if you were fooling around, be prepared to get punished." I nodded and followed him.

"What do you wish to say?" He asked making himself comfortable in the chair. I sat down and placed the recorder in front of him.

"This can help you." He took the recorder placed on the table and turned it on suspiciously.

His eyes widened and his nose flared. He glanced at me and asked, "Where did you get this?"

"I was going back when I caught this. They were being suspicious so, I followed them. I didn't expect him to give out the pack's information to the enemies. So, I decided to record it."

"Who was the person he sold the information to?"

"As you could see, she had covered herself up so, I couldn't find the one who sold the information to."

His investigation process was tiresome. Why did I go there? What does the woman look like? What reason did he sell the pack for? It was difficult to answer all of his questions. Lastly, when I thought his questions were finished, he surprised me with another question.

"Why are you helping me? What do you want?"

I had no answers for it. I couldn't say who I am and my reason for helping him. I lied, "I don't know, why I am helping you. I just thought that he was bad-tempered and should be punished. As a reward, I don't need anything. Just don't ignore me." 

He nodded, and said, "I will check it out if it's true or not."

He took my phone and escorted me out.

Some days later, the entire pack learned about him betraying the pack. Kivvi took the opportunity and handed the evidence, leaving the record over to the Alpha. Ryan, being a traitor, was thrown out of the pack, and became a rogue.

However, no one knew to whom the news was sold to. Though they suspected Arianna, without evidence, they couldn't disgrace her. I was a witness, but I had no wish to attack her. She wasn't my enemy so there was no need for me to make another enemy.

I was sipping my afternoon coffee when I thought about the current situation. Suddenly, I felt sleepy.

I put my head up slowly and opened my eyes. I was in a cave. The cave which brought me my darkest memories. This was the cave which turned my life upside down.

"You are awake…" I glanced over, finding the familiar voice. It was Ryan!

"You couldn't be silent, huh? Only if you didn't open your mouth, no one would find out about this! I wouldn't be thrown out of the pack!" I was caught off guard. How did he find out I was the one who told him off?

My eyes glanced at the handkerchief in Ryan's hand. It was mine! 

He put up the handkerchief and swung it. "Does this feel similar?"

I smiled and got up from my place. I wasn't the weak wolf they disgraced before. I was strong enough to fight them now.

"I am going to kill you for what you have done to me!" He growled in rage. My laughter filled the cave. He twitched his brows and looked at me.

"You can't kill me now. You know, I am not the same wolf you disgraced before. I am far stronger than before. In this cave, you four raped me and tried to kill me. What a pity, you will be the one dying at this cave!"

He was puzzled by my words, and I could guess that all these years, I wasn't their only victim.

"Five years ago, I was going to meet my mate, when you raped me, killed my mate. Do you remember I said I would be back? I am here now, to haunt you!"

I felt a knife swing in front of me. I was too late to dodge. I fell down with a sudden push from my back, it saved me. I looked back to check who it was.

"You should be careful! Don't be too engrossed that you forget your surroundings." Stella lectured.

Ryan shifted to a wolf and jumped at us. We dodged and were looking for an opportunity to kill him. When we found his strength draining out, we took the opportunity to kill him.

Stella hugged me, "Good that you are safe. You scared this sister of yours!"

I hugged her back and patted her back. It had been a long time since I was in my sister's embrace.
