Jess POV

I am tired of doing this every day but if I don't, then I will look like a bad wife.

Maximus has been getting on my nerves lately. He was now making it a habit to come back late, always claiming that he had too much to do in the office as if I was buying that s***** excuse.

I didn't look dumb like my step-sister who was so stupid to believe his lies when he told her that he had some things to take care of at the office. She believed every bit of his lie even though he was coming to meet me every day.

I always loved it when he reassured me that he was going to divorce her very soon and get married to me.

Whenever I remember his happy look when I reached out to him after my return, I can never forget how ecstatic he looked when he saw me that day.
