Celeste and Megan arrived early, yet it wasn't until 1:00 pm that they finally had lunch.

During the meal, Jane's eyes never left Celeste. Winston, on the other hand, kept looking at Megan. He attended to her needs, serving soup and ensuring her glass was always filled.

Winston even went so far as to retrieve a napkin for Megan, draping it carefully over her lap when she voiced concerns about potential stains on her clothes.

Megan blushed and thanked him in a small voice. Consequently, she ate with a quiet obedience, resembling a child well cared for.

Celeste found it hard to believe that Winston harbored no feelings for Megan whatsoever.

Jane couldn't help but smile, pleased with the attentive and considerate manner in which her son, Winston, was treating Megan.
