Chapter seventy five

Adriana’s POV

My eyes snapped open when I felt something extremely warm run softly along the length of my arm and neck, and due to how cold it was earlier, I shivered from the touch.

My room was dark, as dark as an abandoned tunnel and even as I squinted, I still couldn’t make out the thing or person that must’ve touched me.

“Who’s there?!” I called out. My voice sounded hoarse, probably due to how much I’d cried earlier and again, a shiver ran up my body when I perceived the unmistakably sweet smell of Massimo’s perfume.

Suddenly, I remembered our argument earlier today and how he had treated me, blatantly refusing me the opportunity to work, and again, I felt a surge of anger towards him.

“Adriana…” I heard him call out to me softly but I ignored him. The last thing I wanted right now was having to get into another heated argument with him, especially not now that I can faintly make out the smell of blood emanating from him.

“Are you asleep?” He tried again and this time, I blinked
