Alice's hands shook as she tried to unlock the door to her apartment, millions of thoughts kept running in and out of her mind as she tried to accept the fact that her brother will be living with her.
"What's the hold-up, Alice?" Andrew asked, drawing closer to her "need help?" he asked in what was meant to be a seductive voice, but only ended up disgusting Alice.
"I got this," she said in an audible whisper and pulled the door open, he smiled and spanked her butt as he walked in. Alice glared at his back when he walked in before she took a deep breath and walked in after him, closing the door behind her.
Andrew's eyes roamed around the room, and the look of disgust was clear on his face, "Is this where you live?" He asked in a condescending tone, and Alice fisted her hands in anger.
"This is what I could afford with the money you gave me" she managed to say in the calmest voice she could muster.
He looked around the room again and sighed, before p
Amanda stretched out her hands on the bed with a lazy smile on her face, hoping to touch Alan but instead, all she could feel was the coldness of the bed. She ran her hands on the bed again to be sure, and when all she could feel was the coldness of the bed, she snapped her eyes open and sat up on the bed. She looked around the room for any trace of him, but the room just stared back blankly at her, "was last night a dream?" She mumbled to herself, rubbing away the sleepiness from her eyes. "Could it be he's downstairs?" She asked as the morning of the day he brought them back ran through her mind, sighing, she decided to go check for herself and stepped out of the bed. Halfway down the stairs, she began hearing murmurings and clashing of utensils and a smile graced her face, she increased her pace and took the stairs two at a time. "Good morning!" She yelled loudly with a smile etched on her face as she entered the kitchen, a fully dressed Jonathan a
Amanda sat on the floor shaking slightly and breathing heavily, it's been over 30 minutes since Andrew left her office but she still hasn't gotten over the fact that he was here, right before her. The memories she buried all came back alive in her head and were tormenting her mentally. She leaned her head against the door frame and took two deep breaths, trying to keep the tears that welled up in her eyes again from falling and to calm her shaky body, she was still in that position with her eyes closed, when her phone began ringing, it made her jolt up from that position in shock.Heaving a sigh of relief when she realized it was just her phone, she opened her bag and brought it out, she tried to smile when she saw the caller but her face felt too stiff to move. She sighed once again, and cleared her throat to reduce the hoarseness and crack from crying, "Hello" she said as she picked up the call"Hey princess! What are you up to?" Alan's voice asked cheerfully
Amanda rushed into the hospital, with Malia and Mark running behind her "where is Alan Weasley and Jonathan West?!" She asked hurriedly, tears streaming down her face.A while ago after they got the news from her brother, they were in a state of confusion and hurt as they didn't know which hospital they were admitted into. They spent over an hour driving around the hospitals in the city till the paparazzi got the news and shared the hospital, and they immediately drove over there."Ma'am please hold on" the receptionist replied calmly to Amanda. She started going through the computer before she turned to Amanda and shook her head. "Sorry ma'am, but their names aren't here" she muttered, feeling bad for her.Amanda looked at her alarmed and shook her head rapidly, "check again, please. Alan Weasley and Jonathan West, a man in his middle twenties and a child of 7! Please check again" She pleaded, looking from the woman to the computer with her eyes wide open.
Amanda slid down the wall with her head cradled to her hand until she felt the coldness of the floor against her butt. She stayed like that for a while before she started chuckling, everyone in the hospital room turned to her in surprise.Another chuckle escaped her lips then another before it slowly turned into a sob. Malia immediately rushed to her and hugged her, but that did nothing to comfort her. She felt her world crashing down before her as cried on Malia's shoulders "why? Why?! Just why!?" She yelled amidst her sobs, and Malia just tightened her grip on her.Alan stared at her with pity in his eyes, he just couldn't seem to recall anything about her. His mind felt oddly blank when it comes to her, the nurse looked at the scenario and mouthed "I'll go get the doctor" to Alan before she quietly excused herself from the room.Malia and Amanda still sat on the floor in each other's arms when Amanda suddenly broke out of Malia's arms and rushed to Alan's bed
Andrew stood beside Amanda, and they both stared wordlessly at the park that was filled with mostly children and their parents. They both have been standing there for over 5 minutes now, and Andrew's patience was growing thin "I do not have the time, nor patience to just stand here with you and look at annoying children all day. So tell me why you called me here or I'll be on my way" Andrew said, turning his gaze to Amanda."Do you remember the one time we went to an amusement park, back home in Nigeria?" She asked after a brief moment of silence passed, without removing her gaze from the children, and Andrew just raised an eyebrow in surprise at her question. He was expecting anything but that kind of question "I didn't know you brought me here to reminisce on our childhood" he said in a bored tone, his gaze fixed on her"Do you or do you not remember?" Amanda asked sharply, turning to him for a brief second with a brazen look in her eyes before turning away.
Amanda pushed her door open and exhaled loudly at the bone-chilling silence, she looked around the room with sadness as she remembered what it felt like to have Jonathan around. He would probably be playing games now or watching his favorite anime till she drags him up to bed. A little laugh escaped her lips when she remembered the one time she dragged him up to the bed, only to find him downstairs a few minutes later; watching SpongeBob. A loud sigh left her lips at the memories and she shook her head sadly and walked upstairs. She planned on heading straight to her room and packing all that she needs but instead, she found herself in Jonathan's room. "Why are you acting like he is dead? He is alive and he will soon come home, snap out of it!" She scolded herself and immediately dashed out of his room, and walked over to her's. Without wasting much time, she packed up a few clothes and her laptop for work, before she quietly left her room. She looked at the house on
Alan was chatting and laughing happily with the squad; Adilah, Malia, and Mark, when the door crept open to reveal Amanda, who suddenly felt awkward when all eyes turned to her. She smiled awkwardly at them before moving further into the room, "Hi guys, just got off work and decided to come visit him" she explained in a calm voice and everyone including Alan, smiled at her. "You know you don't have to explain yourself, right? You can come visit him anytime you want" Adilah said as she stood up from the chair. "Hi" Alan greeted her in a calm voice and she turned to him in surprise. He laid in the bed with a warm smile on his face as he looked at her. She returned the smile and mouthed "Hi" back to him before she walked over to him and sat down on the chair Adilah stood up from "How are you doing?" "I feel better, thank you" Alan replied and started staring at her intensely, his brow furrowed and his face scrunched up as he stared at her. Amanda
"Do you remember how the accident happened?" Amanda asked and Alan's eyes widened. He immediately let go of her hand in his and stared blankly at her, but Amanda could see the wheels turning in his head, "I.. I.. "he stuttered out before he swallowed nervously "it hurts" he suddenly blurted out after a few moments of silence passed, making Amanda sit up in worry. "What's wrong?" She clasped her hands in his as she asked worriedly. "My head, it hurts" he repeated and she could see the tears welling up in his eyes "I.." he started but she immediately shushed him "Shh... it's okay" she said and pulled him into her arms "I'm sorry for asking that. It's okay, you don't have to force yourself to Remember it" she mumbled into his ears, softly patting his back. His body began to relax in her hold and she could feel him taking deep breaths to relax, she kept patting his back till he fully relaxed, "I'm so sorry for asking you that" she mumbled her apol

Amanda slowly opened her eyes with a beautiful smile gracing her face, she stretched out her hands to touch Alan but she only felt the warmness of the sheet and a sigh left her lips knowing he just got up. She stood up and stretched lightly as she did, her smile widened even more when she heard him laughing downstairs with their child. She couldn't believe how much the years have passed and how things have changed, little teardrops made way to her face as she remembered how much her life has changed within 5 years. *~ 5 years ago ~**The moment she got to Morgan's law firm, she parked hurriedly and stepped out of the car ready to run to her office but met her standing by the firm's door with a huge file on her hand and beside her stood a worried Alan, who kept darting his eyes around searching for something or rather someone because the moment he set eyes on her, she could see the relief wash through his face.*
Amanda strode into her company with a casual smile on her face, she couldn't remember the last time she was in there, and the shocked look and calculative stares of her employees made her nervous. Her smile never wavered as she confidently walked into her private elevator, the moment the doors closed she took a deep breath to calm her nerves, avoiding people for over a month has clearly done more harm than good. The elevator opened to reveal Oliver standing there in a suit with his tablet and a cup of coffee in his hand, a welcoming smile graced his face the moment he set eyes on Amanda "Welcome back, ma'am" She smiled back at him and nodded, "Thank you, Oliver" she said and took the cup from him, "shall we?" She asked and with a nod from him, they started walking to her office while he briefed her about the things he forgot to add in the email he sent last night. "Thank you for handling this company while I was away, you've done so well." She said gr
Alan sat rigidly on the sofa, his eyes would occasionally dart towards the stairs and each time a sigh would leave his lips when he doesn't see her coming down. He couldn't tell if it was a sigh of relief or nervousness, he doesn't know if he wants her to come down now or wait a little longer and the worst part, he hasn't figured out how to tell her."Calm down Alan, calm down" he muttered to himself and rested his head against the sofa as he continuously took deep breaths, after a while, he managed to relax and calm his fast heartbeat, but before he could fully relax, he heard footsteps approaching and his heartbeat skyrocketed again and he immediately sat up.He gulped nervously as his eyes took in the woman standing before him, she looked stunning even tho she was dressed in a very big oversized hoodie with tights, and her hair was wrapped up in a towel. He dragged his eyes from her legs and with great difficulty rested them on her face that was radiating with a smi
"What the fuck do you both think you are doing here?" Amanda spat out as soon as Andrew and Alice were close enough, she instinctively stood in front of Jonathan to keep them from seeing his coffin."That's not a nice way to welcome your elders!" Andrew said with a stern look on his face and a scoff left Amanda's lips. His features softened a little when he managed to catch a glimpse of Jonathan's coffin despite Amanda's attempt to block his view, but there was no trace of remorse or sadness in his face as he stared at it "I'm here to pay my last respects to my brother" he stated, turning back to Amanda and staring into her eyes.Amanda stared at him in confusion for a while before a low chuckle escaped her lips, "you!" She shouted, shoving her index fingers into his chest "you! You want to pay your last respect to him?" She pointed her fingers back at Jonathan's coffin, her face contorted in pain and anger "the same boy you killed?!" She
COUPLE WEEKS LATERAlan's eyes rested on Amanda as the mass for Jonathan was being carried out, her face was devoid of any emotion but if you look close enough, you could see her clenching and unclenching her fists, she would occasionally blink away the tears or bite her lips to hold back a sob.A deep sigh left Alan's lips and he moved away from where he was standing and went over to her, he softly grasped her hand in his without saying anything. She immediately looked up at him, surprised by the grand gesture because they barely had a proper conversation in the past two weeks. He could tell what the look on her face implied but he discarded it and mouthed "it's going to be okay", tears welled up in her eyes as he said that, but she nodded and tightened her grip on him before turning back to face the coffin and the priest leading the mass.A surge of gratitude washed through Amanda even tho she didn't say it out loud, she spent all week wondering how she
Amanda submerged herself fully inside the bath, hoping she will suffocate but seconds turned into minutes and she immediately pulled her head out of the water. She started coughing hysterically and hitting her chest repeatedly, her coughs suddenly turned into cries and she began mumbling apologies "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.. I'm so so sorry" she kept mumbling as tears streamed down her face.Disgust crawled up her skin at the thoughts she had, her skin suddenly felt too tight and she wanted to claw it out. She couldn't believe she wanted to end the life that her brother, her brother that hasn't even lived a quarter of his life sacrificed for her to have, she let herself cry for a few more minutes and continuously mumbled apologies before she slowly wiped them away."I promise to avenge your death with the last drop of my blood, Jonathan" she mumbled with bitterness dripping in her voice, her pain was now replaced with anger, resentment, bitterness, and need
Amanda laid on the bed, surrounded by darkness courtesy of the curtains that haven't been opened in a week, she was trying to force herself back to sleep like she has been doing the past week when a loud knock came on the door. She groaned and covered herself with the duvet to block the noise out till it stops, it always does, in 5 to 10 minutes it will eventually stop and she will be left alone again. She laid in that position unmoving waiting for the sounds of loud knocking to be drowned out by the silence she has grown comfortable with, but the time went from 5 minutes to 10 to 20, yet the knocks didn't stop coming. This made her slowly sit up in the bed, "please leave me alone" she muttered weekly, praying the knocks will stop coming and the memories pushing at the gates of her mind will disappear, but none happened.Sighing, she laid her head against the headboard and pushed Jonathan's plushie closer to her chest, and squeezed her eyes shut as she tried to dro
"He's getting discharged today. Congratulations on recovering fully, Mr. Weasley" the doctor said with a smile on his face, but Alan just stared blankly at him. The smile on the doctor's face just doesn't make any sense to him, why is he so happy? Why is he being congratulated? Should he be happy that his body is whole but his memories aren't? Is he even allowed to be happy when the boy he came in here with, is dead?. He let out a breath and clutched his chest in pain as he remembered the broken look on Amanda's face as she watched her brother's corpse get wheeled away. Tears threatened to fall from his eyes, and he immediately squeezed them shut. "Alan..." Adilah called out shakily as she took slow steps towards him, "it isn't your fault, I swear" she repeated the words she has been saying for over a week now. Her eyes glazed over him, filled with pity and sadness, she couldn't bear to see her brother beating himself up for something he didn't do. Si
