Casey P.O.V
After paying the cab driver I exited the cab and quickly rushed into my office, soaking from top to bottom and did not need to start on my makeup. I probably looked like a drenched cat . I ran towards the elevator. “STOP!”. The doors shut on my face and I crashed into it. Damn it. I took the stairs by the lift , rushing up like I was chased by hounds of hell . My office was on the seventh floor and I had climbed up seven flights of stairs. I think the thing that lost weight is my legs because upon reaching my floor I could hardly feel my legs, my lungs were burning because of how fast I was running. The celebration around the cubical caught my attention. People had gathered around my junior and for some reason they were congratulating her . I put my bag down on my desk and asked with a smile “What is all this about?”. My co-worker smirked and said “I have been promoted to assistant manager of the company”. Her words wiped the smile right off my face. “Congrats” said through my grinding teeths and snatched my bag off the table . “ I just need to use the washroom ”. My co-worker nodded with a fake pouty face. Her lips never looked more like she had been kissed by a duck or her lips might have stuck while kissing a vacuum cleaner . I do not know how people get attracted to lip enhancement surgery when the end is that. I ran straight to my boss ' office and without knowing I barged in. My boss was talking on the phone and our company mascot was sitting opposite to him . They were both shocked to see me burged in the office. The mascot stood as the happy song of our company theme started playing from the recorder of its suit and began its signature dance. I never wanted to strangle someone more than at this moment. “Mr Hodder I have to talk to the boss , if you do not move out of my face in a few seconds then I will make you go from Hodder to Horror”. It would be amusing to look at a man wearing a cute teddy bear costume with a song playing from it ,the teddy bowed its head and walked out. I waited till the door closed to rip my boss into a new one and from the way he was swallowing . And this is the moment he knows he fucked up. I went straight to my boss around the desk, grabbed him by the collar and lifted him up by it . “Albert sir that promotion, that promotion, I have worked my butts off for five straight years. Not one , not two , not three , five straight years, I have brought this company clients after client and they never complained about my work. Did they ?” My boss shook his head no .I did not know how I pulled it off when he is quite muscular compared to my size . Never come between a girl's food or promotion then a beauty can turn into a beast and beat the shit out of you . If it was any other time I would not act like a female Hulk ready to send her boss into outer space. NASA will soon find his body, hopefully before his body is no more. “I did the deeds and the fruit was taken by someone else. Samantha started later than I had , and could not do work without making mistakes. Then how in the world of Lucifer did she get the promotion?” I threw him back on his chair . I think my boss is more shocked to find that the girl who acts like a wet scared cat that can be bullied more easily than he did before suddenly becomes a wild fierce tiger . “I will explain if you please sit down ”. He straightened his collar and pulled out a folder, “Casey you have been missing office from last few months, did not bring any new client, took less number of events than average , there were complaints from the clients and today you crashed the company car , police have taken the car away”. His wife will not miss him if his body is found in his office lying dead, would she? “Instead of you, Samantha took over your clients and brought profit to the company”. We know how late night meetings have led to this promotion because no real work is getting done until and unless she takes out time of her beholding herself which is a myth. “I have been missing work days for only three months and that is also very few because there were some problems going on in my life and I did bring new projects and it was not like I was sitting idly , I have been working. How can you judge my work based on just three months while I am working five years straight without taking any holiday . I was going through a rough patch so I let it loose but I still did my work.” “You crashed the company car and the repair f*e is going to be deducted from your monthly salary.” My mouth was hanging open. The guts of this man! I stood up and put my hands flat on the table with a bang to lean close “First of all that is not a car that is a death trap, you can call something a car that has four wheels hardly attached to the base and God have mercy on that steering wheel my goodness! I am lucky that this thing did not come into my hands when I crashed into the other car. The only thing that worked was the brakes and what are you talking about deducting money last time Samantha crashed the new company truck and she did not have to pay a single dollar, so what do you have to say about that ?” I did not add that ‘you covered up for her’. Upon hearing me he started stammering on his words like a last hand generator which is going to take its last breath soon. “I do not know anything, it is the decision of the management . If you want to continue to work here you will accept it otherwise you can leave ”. “Management’s decision or your decision?” I sat down back on the chair with legs crossed.“I am not going anywhere until and unless you change your decision”. A Few Moments Later……. “I am not moving a inch from here unless you are promoting me as the next assistant manager. Let me see who can move me”. A Whole Entity Later……… I walked out of the office with a cardboard box filled with my belongings . “Nobody cares about a hard worker. You will regret this day and when you come crawling back on your knees for my forgiveness and ask me to return, I will close my door in your face ” I said it looking at the security guard who was looking at me as if I have lost my mind which I might have.My phone started ringing just as I finished.Balancing the box on my other arm I received the call while walking on the sidewalk. I have to take the bus to go home because technically I am jobless and I am getting my check a few days after . “Casey , I was going to call you to ask when are you going to leave work today?” Her words brought out the feelings that I was suppressing for so long . I covered my mouth, sobe broke through my body as tears rolled down my cheeks. “Casey ,Casey my dear what happened? Casey, you are worrying me . Casey ”. “Zazu, I lost my job. I…Th-ey have prom-oted Sama-ntha in my pla-ce. Whe-n I tried to pro-test against it.They sa-id either I acc-ept it other-wis-e I have to lea-ve the com-pany ”. Another sobe broke through my body. “It's fine tonight. We are going to meet at the restaurant and we are going to talk it out. Do not worry we will find a solution ”. If only she can solve my problem like a fairy godmother .Casey P.O.V “Have you gotten out of work yet? I am almost done , about to leave the apartment ”. I placed the phone on the dressing table with the speaker on . I will go with the soft cherry colour lip gloss. It is going to bring out the colour of my dress . My dress was a red crop top, embroidered with black net and with a heart shaped neckline attached with a black leather body fit skirt that looked like a second skin , along with a belt .My ass looks good in the skirt. Usually I am more of a sweatpants and loose shirt kind of girl but I am jobless and soon will be a homeless kind of girl if I do not pay the rent soon, so why not treat myself for one day and forget the shit that has gone down. Placing the perfume back on the table to pop another mini Cooke in my mouth. Yumm these goodies are a piece of heaven. I rubbed my wrist against each other. “What is the point of going for dinner if you are going after finishing a tank of cookies ?” I took another cookie and started munchin
Casey P.O.V “Thank you” . After paying the cab I entered the restaurant. The restaurant’s entrance bell chimed above me , a welcoming smile from the attendant greeted me. The warm ambiance of the place, with its soft lighting and murmured conversations, momentarily eased my nerves. "Reservation for Deniz," I said, my voice steady. The attendant checked the list and nodded, "Right this way.” As we weaved through the maze of tables, I glanced around, half expecting my friends to come on time for once. But no, they were fashionably late as always. The attendant led me to a table with a perfect view of the entire restaurant. As I settled into my seat, I let out a small sigh of relief, allowing myself a moment of relaxation. Then, as if the universe had decided I was far too comfortable, I saw him. My heart dropped like a stone in my chest. There he was, my ex-boyfriend walking into the restaurant, his hand resting possessively on the lower back of the girl he had cheated on me with. Pan
Casey P.O.V Deciding I needed something stronger than water to handle this, I moved to the bar. I can not watch my ex-boyfriend kneel down and propose to the girl he cheated on me with anymore like he did not make his happy paradise on someone's grief. The bartender greeted me with a smile. "What can I get you?”. He was not wearing what the other bartenders were wearing, black shirt with the logo and pants instead he was wearing a sleeveless beige denim T-shirt , with a chain necklace around his neck , he was wearing scratched jeans , usually it looks on men like they have been disowned by their family and have been on streets for weeks but somehow he made it look great on him It was like fate just slapped me on my face when the cheers grew louder. "Whiskey, straight," I quickly replied, taking a seat in the bar. I shook my head when my head began to spin. It must be the wine I was drinking before. As the bartender poured my drink, I glanced over at my ex, who was beaming at his
Casey P.O.V I woke up with a start, my head pounding and my mind foggy. I looked around. I was in an unfamiliar hotel room. I was alone on the bed with a blanket over me, and my head was pounding like thousands of trucks ran over my head. I tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over me, forcing me back onto the pillow. I groaned with my eyes tight closed while I pinched the bridge of my nose in pain. What happened last night? I thought, rubbing my temples. The last thing I remembered was drinking at the bar, the bartender was serving me drinks whose head I was frying with my sob story and then nothing. As I lay there, a strange sensation of awareness crept over me. Something was off. My body felt oddly warm beneath the thick comforter, yet the cool air against my face sent a slight shiver down my spine. Then, I heard it ,a soft, rhythmic sound. Flowing water. My eyes flew open, panic surging through me like a bolt of electricity. I was not alone. Someone else was in the ro
Casey P.O.VThe apartment was in disarray, a testament to the whirlwind of emotions that had swept through it. Clothes were strewn across the floor, half-packed boxes littered the living room, and the faint sound of honking from the moving truck outside filtered in through the open windows."You still have two days but you decide you will move out today only just a few hours after your ex told you to move out, " Zazu said , her voice seething with anger as she pulled out a suitcase from the closet. She opened the suitcase on the bed, somehow folded clothes and placed them into a suitcase, though she was angry her movements were deliberate and calm whereas I was throwing anything in the bag on whatever I was getting my hands on.“I just want to get out of here and end this drama" I replied, throwing another handful of belongings into a bag with a mix of anger and sadness. "I can't believe he did this to me. I trusted him and kept the house in his name because….”. I dumped another set o
Owen P.O.V Turning the shower off, I reached for the towel hanging on the rack, shaking off the droplets of water clinging to my skin before wrapping the soft fabric securely around my waist. Steam curled in the air around me as I stepped out of the bathroom, my bare feet sinking slightly into the plush carpet. I ran a hand through my damp hair, pushing it back from my forehead as my gaze swept across the room. The bed looked like it had been through a war ,sheets tangled and twisted, pillows scattered across the floor, and the blanket knotted up like someone had tried to wrestle with it in their sleep. A mess, no doubt, but the one responsible for it, the wild little tornado from last night was nowhere to be found. My brows furrowed as I scanned the room more carefully. Her purse, which had been sitting on the table last night, was gone. The phone and keys that had been next to it? Also missing. I walked to the other side of the bed, checking if maybe she had passed out somewhere,
Casey P.O.V The blaring alarm clock pierced the early morning silence, its shrill sound dragging me from the depths of sleep. My hand flailed across the nightstand, fingers brushing against the cold, hard surface until they found the culprit. With a loud, frustrated groan, I slammed the off button and rolled back under the covers. Not two seconds later, my phone alarm joined the party. I let out a loud groan, throwing the pillow over my head as though it could block the incessant noise. It didn’t. "Fine, fine, I am up," I muttered as I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and glared at my phone. The screen blinked mockingly. 8:30 AM.Two hours until the job interview. I dragged myself to the bathroom, flipping the light switch and wincing as the brightness stabbed at my barely-open eyes. My reflection in the mirror was nothing short of a disaster.Puffy eyes with dark circles, hair a tangled mess, and a crease across my cheek from sleeping on the pillow wrong. "You have got th
Author P.O.V “Following you? Wow dude , you sure think something of yourself. I would not waste my breath on a guy like and stalking you is the last thing I want to do in this universe" Casey retorted. She folded her arms and looked straight ahead "I am just trying to get to an interview but nothing is going according to the plan.I do not know whose face I have seen first after waking that my entire day is going so bad. First the car broke down and now this man”. “Must have seen her own” Owen whispered, looking out of the window. “Did you just say something?” She gave her a side eye. “Nothing. I just said you are looking beautiful”. Owen gave her a sarcastic smile. “Nice cover up but already heard what you have said .Now get out, that is the least you could do after what you have done.” she said, and looked out of the window. “Then why did you ask ? Why would I leave the cab and what do you mean by that is the least you could do after what you have done? ” Owen gave her a conf
Casey P.O.VI woke up with a groggy mind and a heavy body, blinking against the dim light filtering through the curtains. My room was dark, the only glow coming from the bedside clock. 8:00 p.m. I slept through the entire afternoon. No surprise there I had spent most of my morning hugging the toilet, barely able to keep water down.I still felt weak, but at least the dizziness had subsided. Dragging myself out of bed, I ran a hand over my face and sighed. For the past week, I had been feeling miserable, physically and emotionally. My life was in shambles. My love life was a disaster, my work was going downhill, and on top of everything, my body was betraying me. It had to be food poisoning. What else could it be?Three weeks ago, Owen had walked out of my life, and I had spent every day since drowning in heartbreak. It was not just the pain of losing him, it was watching him parade around with Layla in the office, acting like nothing had happened between us. And the worst part? Layla
Owen P.O.V The door slammed shut, the echo lingering in the room like a taunt. I stared at it, my hands clenched into fists at my sides. Casey was gone. Not just from this office but it felt like she was walking out of my life as well. I wanted to stop her. Hell, I wanted to grab her hand, pull her into my arms, and tell her that I was sorry, that I never wanted this. But what would that change? Nothing. She was gone. It wouldn’t change anything. I had done this. I had allowed it. A bitter taste filled my mouth as I exhaled sharply, running a hand through my hair. My eyes drifted back to the door. The urge to chase after her warred against the voice in my head, the one reminding me of the chains binding me here. "You can say goodbye to Brown Group if you step another foot towards that door." Layla’s voice cut through my thoughts like a blade, halting me in my tracks. My hands clenched into fists at my side. I can not get a break from this woman.. Slowly, I turned to face he
Casey P.O.V I focused on my computer screen, wrapping up the last few details for an upcoming client event. The office buzzed with the usual chatter, but I barely registered any of it. My mind had been a mess all morning, and concentrating felt impossible. No matter how hard I tried, my thoughts kept drifting back to, no, I refused to think about it. I just needed to finish my work and move on with my day. “Casey!” I glanced up to see my coworker, Amy, standing before my desk with a bright smile. "We are heading to that little Italian place down the street for lunch," she said, resting her hip against my desk. "You should come. You have been looking like you need a break today." For a second, I hesitated .I was not in the mood for socializing, But honestly, what else did I have to do? Sitting at my desk pretending to be productive was not doing me any good. Maybe some food and light conversation would help distract me. "I will meet you guys there," I said, offering a small smile
Casey P.O.V The morning was crisp, the air carrying the faint scent of freshly brewed coffee and anticipation as I stepped into the office building. A soft smile played on my lips, the remnants of a happiness I had not felt in a long time lingering in my chest. After the night I had spent with Owen, I had expected things to feel different, to shift in some way, even if subtly. But life had an odd way of throwing curveballs when you least expected them. That morning after, I had to leave in a rush. A call from my apartment complex about a water leak had jolted me awake earlier than I had planned. There was no time for drawn-out goodbyes or even a proper conversation. Owen was still asleep, his breathing slow and steady, the faintest crease between his brows as if he were already lost in some distant dream. For a brief moment, I hesitated, standing at the edge of the bed, watching him, debating whether to wake him up. Instead, I grabbed a pen and the nearest scrap of paper, scrawlin
Daniel P.O.V. The Investigation Begins The flashing red and blue lights painted the frat house in eerie hues as the police worked to control the chaos. Students gathered in hushed groups, their whispers carried away by the cold night wind. Some were crying, some were confused, and others were too drunk to comprehend the gravity of what had just happened. I stood frozen, my mind refusing to process the reality before me. Ann was gone. The girl who had been the light in my life, the only person I had ever truly cared about, was now nothing more than a lifeless body being zipped into a black bag. A uniformed officer, face hardened with years of experience, stepped forward. His sharp eyes swept over the crowd before he barked, “Everyone stay put. No one leaves until we have spoken to you.” A few students tried to step back into the house, but another officer cut off their path. “You heard the chief. Stay where you are.” The chief, a broad-shouldered man with a thick mustache, exhale
Daniel P.O.V. The Restaurant Encounter The moment I stepped into the restaurant, I scanned the space with sharp eyes. It was a quiet place, dimly lit with small booths lining the walls, offering privacy to those who sought it. The low hum of conversations blending with the occasional clinking of silverware. The air smelled of grilled meat and strong coffee, but my focus was elsewhere. My gaze swept past the occupied tables until I spotted her. A woman sat in the corner booth, her face obscured by oversized sunglasses and a baseball cap. She had long blonde hair, strands spilling over her shoulders, partially covering the side of her face. She was fidgeting, her fingers gripping the menu as she glanced around, making sure no one was paying attention to her.She was trying too hard not to be noticed, her posture stiff, if she grip the menu any harder her finger will snap. Eva never wanted to be seen these days. I walked toward her without hesitation. She did not notice me at first, t
Casey P.O.V “Don't stop” Owen raised my right thigh and rested my leg over his shoulder. Because I was pretty sure he was trying to kill me, he slid one finger inside me while flickering my clit with his thumb. He pushed it in and out of me, so painfully slow my insides clenched around him. I lean back on my elbows, and a soft moan escapes my lips as I watch him withdraw his finger and add another. “Owen,” I moaned. “Mmm… That feels so good.” My head fell back in pleasure Owen slammed his fingers into me, hitting every pleasure point at once. “Come for me,” he groans, rolling his thumb over my clit. I moan in response, and he adds, his words were a little slurring, “That is it. Strangle my fingers like they are my cock.” I was on the edge of losing control, so close my entire body trembled. Owen clutched my thigh in his big hands, his mouth dangerously close to my aching clit. A shiver ran down my spine when his hot breath hit my over heated sensitive nub .His fingers glided in
Casey P.O.V. As I burst out of the stadium, the cool night air rushed against my skin, but I barely felt it. My heart was pounding as I pulled out my phone and quickly dialed Owen’s number. The line rang once. Twice. I pulled the phone away from my ear, staring at the screen in frustration. The call failed. Frowning, I tried again, but the same thing happened. A wave of unease crawled up my spine. I had just admitted to Zazu that I loved Owen, that I wanted to fight for him. But what if it was too late? I refused to let my thoughts spiral. Maybe his phone had died, or maybe he had put it on silent. Not wanting to waste another second, I called his office instead. Someone there had to know where he was. After a few rings, the call connected. “Hello?” a gruff male voice answered. I blinked. It wasn’t Barbara, nor anyone from Owen’s executive team. “Uh, this is Casey Maxwell. I am looking for Owen Brown? Is he still in the building?” The man sighed. “Sorry, ma’am, but everyone l
Casey P.O.V. The crisp January air brushed against my face as Zazu and I stepped out of the cab in front of the L.A. Stadium. The towering lights of the arena glimmered in the evening sky, and the hum of excitement from the crowd around us buzzed in my ears. I glanced down at my jersey-style top, a shade of blue and white to match the Los Angeles Rams team, and felt a rare sense of anticipation. Zazu adjusted her own jersey, grinning ear to ear as we approached the gates. “Can you believe Mark just handed me these tickets?” Zazu said, practically skipping beside me. “Poor guy. Bet he’s regretting his work emergency right about now.” “Well, his loss is our gain,” I said, laughing as we handed our tickets to the attendant. Once inside, we grabbed a large bucket of buttery popcorn, its warm aroma wafting through the air, and made our way to our seats. The stadium was electric, the roar of the crowd rising as the players from both teams jogged onto the field. I had not been to a footb
