In my hands was the book I found on the top shelf this morning, but I was not able to focus on a single word . My mind was far away, replaying the conversation with Zazu. I couldn’t shake the look on her face when she told me about Brooks. The hurt in her eyes, the tears she tried to hold back. The soft rustling of leaves in the breeze was the only sound keeping me company, my back was facing the neighbor’s balcony.How could someone be so cruel?
