Ivory hurriedly packed up her things, as she no longer intended to live at the same place.

She could still hear the growls and shouts of her boss before she left the office, and she made sure not to return to that place again.

She was afraid that Max would find her and ask her to come back to work.

Well ... that was just Ivory's thoughts that would probably never happen. An arrogant man like Max would never need someone like her.

Even if Max looks for and asks for something from Ivory, Ivory will make sure never to give a chance to that man. She didn't want to get hurt for the umpteenth time.

Just as Ivory was about to leave, her cell phone rang so loudly that she rushed to answer the call before someone outside her house heard the sound of her cell phone. Don't let anyone know her whereabouts.

"Ivy, where are you?" asked the caller on the other line.

Ivory knew who was calling her—Jane, of course. The girl wouldn't be able to get easy if Ivory weren't in her presence for a moment.

"I-I ... Jane, don't look for me for the next little while. I need to clear my head a bit," Ivory said.

"What? Where are you going? No! You can't go anywhere. You know what? I have good news; you should go back to the office!"

Ivory didn't dare to guess what exactly was going on, but once again—even more times, Jane forced her to return to the office.

"Come on, Ivy, please ... it's about the boss. Don't you want to know what's going on? Oh, sorry, that's not what I was supposed to say. So you see, I want to know what you did to that guy, Ivy. Because he's like someone under a love spell."

"What? What do you mean?" asked Ivory, not understanding what her best friend had said.

Since when did the arrogant and haughty man fall in love? Even Jane said it clearly that Max was under a love spell. On what basis did she say that? Had something happened to the man?

"Jane, please, let's talk about it later, okay? I have to go!"

Without excuse, Ivory ended their conversation over the phone, and then she hurried to continue with what she had planned.

She had a bad feeling that something was going to happen to her. She couldn't let her guard down and stop in a deserted place, which meant she had to be careful.

Ivory quickened her pace. She felt like someone was following her now. She wasn't sure if it was just her feeling or if it was confirmed that someone was stalking her now.

The girl tried her best to avoid it. She even started running so that she could get away from the stalker's sight and she could be free.

Unfortunately, the reality is often not as beautiful as fantasies and hopes. That happened to Ivory, who didn't realize that the figure following her was lunging and making the girl fall under her confinement.

"Where are you running to, Ivy? You've dared to deceive me, Miss Silver Hair. So you'll have to pay the price," the half-human, half-wolf creature, grinning.

"No, wait! How can you call me a cheater, huh?! I did what you asked, didn't I? Then, what is this again?"

"You still dare to ask 'what is this again', huh? Look at me! Since I can't return to my original form, it must be because of you! Because I slept with you, this curse became even worse! You're a bad luck charm, Ivy!" growled the creature in a creepy bass voice.

Ivory shuddered when she heard the accusation that she was an evil luck charm since her goosebumps hadn't stopped bristling.

Maybe it was true what Max said, that Ivory was an evil luck charm. The proof was that her family no longer wanted to acknowledge her—she was abandoned and stranded alone. There was no one willing to help her when she was down.

Not that all, even some people insulted her just like Max accused her of—cruel words spoken with hatred.

And right now, Max was still trying to grip Ivory's throat with both hands, each of which was covered in long, sharp nails—pressing the girl's body against the iron footbridge, which felt cold on the surface of Ivory's skin.

Down there, there was an ocean whose depths were incalculable. And again, how many degrees was the current temperature? Ivory would probably freeze if she splashed and drowned at the bottom.

Would this be her last day? Will Max kill her? What if he did? Even though Ivory had been living alone for a long time, still, she didn't want to die silly in the hands of that beast.

Ivory came to regret her decision to pass through this deserted road. She should have entered the slum area with packed houses, so she could knock on one of the doors and hide there.

Now, here Ivory was, with Max staring at her with a desire to eliminate her, unlike the Max Ivory had seen last night—not intending to take Ivory's life but to exchange the sweat with him.

The girl had even almost fallen in love with Max, thinking he had an extraordinary character.

"Sir, please let me go! Ekh!" Ivory tried to count down as if she was resigned to the grim reaper who seemed to be standing at her doorstep.

This was the first time she had seen such a fierce look from someone after a long time of not hanging out with anyone she didn't want to. And at first, she felt comfortable around Max. But, of course, that was when Max wasn't the arrogant figure who turned out to be his boss.

Now, at the crossroads between life and death, she could do nothing. Ivory surrendered; no matter what Max wanted to do, even if she had to die right now, Ivory would no longer fight back.

So far, Ivory has no one, so let it be ... let it be if she has to die.

Ivory's body weakened, and all her nerves also relaxed. The grip that had been so strong now felt almost released until Ivory caught a look of regret, especially since Max, originally a beast, returned to his form as a handsome man who had captured Ivory's heart for one night.

"Ivy ... did I—"

Ivory didn't give Max a chance to speak. She didn't want to hear anything. She broke away from Max and dropped and threw herself into the ocean under the bridge where Max had executed her.

"IVY! What are you doing, Ivy? Where are you?!"

Max kept calling out to Ivory as a man possessed. He had even intended to jump down there, but some people thought he would end his life and stop him.

So, what about Ivory down there? She was probably lifeless, drowned at the bottom of the ocean, and no one would ever find her.

Max wandered. No! His destination was, of course, home. He had to see the person who might save him from the sin he had committed. He had killed the girl. Ivory must have died from falling into the cold, deep sea. Plus, with the height between the bridge and the sea, there was no way her body wouldn't have been blown away. Even if the girl survived, she would probably suffer a concussion and memory loss. However, it seemed better than losing her life. Max walked into the house, his clothes in tatters due to his haphazard and uncontrollable changes. He didn't understand why that had happened, but it was the truth. He was a monster now. Plus, he had killed a girl who had no part in his condition. "Mirielle! Where are you, Elle!" called Max, a worried look on his face. His twin sister, holed up in her room, jumped to her feet when Max finally burst into her personal space. "Jeez, Max! What are you doing in my room?" snapped Mirielle, annoyed by Max's presence. Max tried to trace Ivory's whereabouts the next day. Right under the bridge where he almost took her life. And indeed, he did. Ivory is no longer in this world. However, at least Max was able to find her body. It could be in the ocean or anywhere around where he was standing right now. Max could have asked his sister Mirielle for help to confirm Ivory's whereabouts and whether the girl was alive or dead. However, since last night Mirielle had been reluctant to say anything about Ivory despite Max's urging. Mirielle knew everything, but she always kept it to herself. And the girl didn't like being called psychic. "Where are you, Ivory?" Max muttered to himself. He kept walking along the coastline until he saw something that convinced him that Ivory had indeed been there. The clothes Ivory had worn last night were torn to shreds, but Max remembered the color that matched the girl's skin and hair. Ivory's skin color was pale white with a blush on both cheeks, with silver hair that s

But she didn't. It wasn't that easy. She already knew what had happened to Max, which made her keep looking for the girl. And Mirielle was sure that if she helped Max, he would end up causing trouble again."Why do you have such a heart for your sister, Elle?! I know you must already know where Ivory is."Mirielle turned her body around and fixed her gaze on the kiwi-colored bead of the man before her, then continued to look at him without being distracted. That was Mirielle's intention, to intimidate Max into coming clean about what he had done to the girl."I-I was following what grandmother Ange said. The silver-haired girl, Ivory, is the one.

It doesn't matter who the man named Benjamin is who is now holding Ivory to be his captive. Because the most important thing right now is that the man treats Ivory very well. Even too good when compared to Max's treatment of her. Especially after the man managed to return Ivory's legs, the girl felt very grateful. "Why are you being nice to me? What do you want?" asked Ivory, still with a skeptical tone that would not go away even with Benjamin's kind treatment. She would still ask about the origins of the charming-looking man. "I am your sweet dream, Ivy. You need not worry; I will not hurt you." Ivory still couldn't believe what Benjamin said to her. She focused on the man to find the truth in his sparkling eyes. "You must have a bad intention to me. Tell me!" Benjamin chuckled. "Do you think that way? It is fine if you think so. However, you can prove it later." The man paused as they arrived at the doorstep of a room that looked so special. "Come on in; the party is about

Ivory sat stunned, looking straight ahead with a blank stare. Her face was scowling, remembering the incident at the club that made her feelings mixed up. She was both upset and embarrassed. Benjamin must know what his men did to prevent Ivory from enjoying her party night a few hours ago. "So Black beat that guy up?" asked Benjamin as he handed Ivory a drink. Ivory reached for her glass but did not respond at all. She was still angry, of course. However, she did not know why she was upset at Black's behavior. Benjamin mandated the man to look after her, so it was only natural for Black to act when Max touched Ivory. "And you are angry with me when Black hit that man. Who was that man that you are so upset about, hm?" "No one, Ben. Just a guest who wanted to see my dance. And your overzealous boys are just embarrassing me!" Benjamin laughed at Ivory's scolding, which sounded so musical in his ears. He was fascinated with the girl, it seemed. "It is only natural for him to do th

He ordered Black and Blue to keep watch as long as Ivory was on the dance floor. And the two bodyguards did well."Black, you heard me! It would help if you didn't repeat what you did yesterday. It felt like she wanted to kick Seth's ass right now, but what power did she have. Seth's strength was too strong to resist. The more Ivory rebelled-the more Seth strangled her.Linea shook her head. She had considered it, thinking about Benjamin's words earlier with a long decision. It led Ivory to the absolute path, agreeing to her deal with Benjamin. Ivory knew her decision was crazy. Triggering Max's most enormous anger, but what's the power? Ivory had no choice but to save Lyra's life and her little family and end this grueling war."I'm sorry, babies. I'm just tired of all this bloodshed, fighting, and endless infighting. Maybe through my sacrifice, this war can be stopped. All Seth wants is me, not Lyra. "Are you sure? Don't you have anything to say?" asked Max, whose words seemed to go straight into Ivory's heart. Max looked at Ivory tenderly, stroking her beautiful Lunar face lovingly. It was the umpteenth time Max had asked that question. As an eternal partner, Max probably thought it. Then, Ivory smiled widely. She shook her head lightly. Not tired of showing the same big-hearted attitude. "What do you mean? I don't understand what you're talking about. I've said it many times to you. I'm fine. Just tired of all this. You know it's draining my mind as well as my energy."Max knelt before Ivory and kissed the back of her hand warmly. "Take it easy. Soon this will be over. That's why I planned all this carefully. Benjamin was here to fulfill his deal, to draw Ivory's blood. He must have wanted to hurt and harm her."You, Seth, and Linea are the same!" pointed Ivory with a hateful snarl. She even turned to threaten Benjamin. "You are no different from them. Don't you dare mention Lyra's name! She is my daughter. Lyra will return to me safely. Your plan will fail!
