Chapter 6

*Pari Pov* 

How can he ask that? And how can she be able to say that? 

At first, when he introduced some model like a girl as his fiancé, I actually felt a little heartbreak. 

Not much, just a little. Nevertheless, now I can easily say that they are made for each other. I mean after marriage, they both will torture each other for sure. 

What am I even saying? I shouldn’t think like this. 

I am very pleased to have such colleagues. They even decided to let the stall closed for me. 

Now my coffee is my own and let Mr.Stone has the one from Café. The whole day we all spent in irritation because of that Sheela. 

She suddenly comes out and becomes nosy in our work asking about what we are doing. Giving us some lecture about how we should behave in fact of our future boss. As if? 

The next day I brought three coffees on my way and arrived in the office. Everyone was reached after some time. 

I entered Maam’s cabin to give her, and she said, “Pari! I am sorry about yesterday’s incident.” 

“It’s ok, Maam. And you stood up for me. I am glad about that. I will go now.” I said and left the cabin. 

When Mr.Stone reached along with Ms.Sheela, we all greeted him, and she again started saying that we should greet her too. 

Mr.Stone nodded for the greetings and dragged her into his cabin. I shook my head and knocked at his door. 

I entered after hearing the reply. I placed the two cups on the table. 

“Good Morning, Mr.Stone! This is your today’s schedule. We need to go to one of the client’s company for a meeting after one hour. ” I said. 

He nodded and was about to say something, but Ms.Sheela beats him saying, “Great! I will be happy to go with you, dear.” 

He sighed and said, “You don’t have to be there, Sheela. It is a private meeting for us, and you will get bored with waiting in the other room.” 

“But there is so much time to go for my parlor appointment. Until then, where should I stay? ” she asked him pouting. 

I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. Such a drama queen! 

“You can stay here Sheela until I come back from the meeting. ” He replied. 

“But sir, there are many important files here. We couldn’t leave them without locking the door.” I said. I meant we can’t just leave the cabin like this right! 

“What do you want to suggest? That I am a thief, and I will steal his work. ” Sheela screamed at me. 

Did I even mean like that? “No Sheela…” I started by saying she cut me off and said, “It’s Ms.Sheela for you.” 

Wow, they are definitely made for each other!  

“Ms.Sheela! I didn’t mean like that at all. I am just saying it is also not safe for you to stay here in this room alone maybe.” 

“I understand what you said. See dear, she is saying that I am a thief. And if you don’t let me stay here. She will be thinking that you believed her.” She started crying going near to him. 

“But Ms.Sheela…” I started saying, but Mr.Stone cut me off and said, “Enough! Sheela will stay here and you Ms.Pari go and prepare for the meeting.” 

I looked at him, shocked for a second, and Sheela was grinning at me with a triumphant smile. I nodded and exited the cabin. 

As he said, I prepared for the meeting, and he came out of his cabin when the time arrived for us to leave. 

We both kept silent for the entire drive. The meeting went perfectly well. 

After that, we both were standing near the entrance for the car to arrive maintaining so much distance between us. 

Out of nowhere, we heard some car horns and turned around to see frowning. We saw that a car is speeding off without control coming my way. 

I just couldn’t move from the spot and watching it wide-eyed. However, suddenly, I was pulled to the other side by someone. 

I clutched them as tight as I can. And the person is just asking ‘Are you Ok?’ continuously. 

Finally, I released myself and saw that Mr.Stone is the one who saved me. And I stupidly hugged him. 

“Are you Ok Ms.Pari? ” he asked, frowning at me. 

“I am fine. Thank you, Mr.Stone. ” I replied, completely going away from him. 

He nodded as our car reached near us, we both got in. The entire ride he got lost in his thoughts. 

When we reached, he said, “I have some work to do, Ms.Pari. I may be not in the office the whole day.” 

I nodded and got out of the car and went toward the elevator. Until I reached my desk, I was only shaking. 

That was so close and if Mr.Stone didn’t save me, I could have died. 

“Are you ok Pari? You seemed shocked. ” Rani asked. 

“Yeah, I am all right. ” I replied, giving her a small smile. 

I didn’t talk much to anyone the whole day and left to go into my home a little early. 

I am still a little shaken about the incident, but I gripped myself. I did a little shopping for tomorrow and reached my home. 

At 12 am I heard my mobile ringing and lifted it immediately. 

I smiled after hearing “Happy Birthday to our little princess. ” from both my parents shouting over the phone. 

“Thank you very much. I thought you would call me in the morning. ” I said with happy tears falling and a big smile upon my face. 

“We always wish you first on your every birthday at 12 am right. So how can we change that now? ” Dad said. 

“Thank you, Dad.” 

“Ok, now you got to sleep, princess. Good night, even from your mom. ” Dad said. 

“Good night to you both. Bye. ” I said, hanging up. 

This is the first time that I am going to celebrate my birthday without my parents. I am missing them so much. 

I decided to give some cake pieces to my friends and of course to Maam and Mr.Stone. I already bought them today when went for shopping. However, how can I face him tomorrow? I actually hugged him; I hope he will not get mad at that. 

The next day I wore my birthday dress, which is just a simple one, and left for the office. I placed the coffee on Maam’s table and Mr.Stone’s on his table as his cabin was not locked from yesterday. 

After everyone reached along with Maam, I got up and went inside Maam’s cabin to give the cake. 

“Maam! ” I called her and offered the cake box. 

She looked up at me and asked, “What is today’s special, Ms.Pari?” 

“Today is my birthday, Maam. ” I replied. 

“Happy Birthday! ” she said. 

“Thank you, Maam. ” I said and left her cabin. 

I went on to give everyone a piece while they wished me. Suddenly, the box was pulled from me and thrown into the dustbin. 

I looked up to see who had actually done that and was surprised to see Mr.Stone. We all looked at him confused. 

“What happ… ” I was about to say, but he cut me off and said, “Don’t you have any shame!” 

Shame! Why would I feel shame? 

“What are you talking about, Mr.Stone? ” I asked him confused. 

“Even after you know that I am engaged you are acting like this. You are a P.A and act like one. I am very disappointed in you. ” he said with so much disgust that tears started forming in my eyes. 

He continued by saying, “You are taking participation in such bets. I had not expected this from you.” 

He started saying something else but looked at me for a second and went inside his cabin. 

All my friends consoled me, but the tears didn’t stop at all. My phone started ringing, and I saw that my dad is calling me. 

I lifted it and said, “Hello, Dad!” controlling the tears. 

“Princess! Are you ok?” he asked worriedly. 

“I am fine, Dad.” I replied, controlling my tears. 

“Ok, take leave for two days and reach the airport. ” He said. 

“But, why?” I asked frowning. 

“Don’t ask me anything just do it. ” he said hanging up. 

I said to my friends that I am fine and wrote a letter packing my things. I knocked on Maam’s door. 

When I entered, I saw that she is speaking to someone on the phone. I waited for a few minutes, and she said, “What happened outside? I was about to come, but got an important call.” 

“Nothing, Maam. Actually, can I take two days leave. ” I asked her. 

“Ms.Pari there is plenty of work, and you have two jobs. You can’t…” she stopped whatever she was saying after looking at my face. 

“Ok, you can take the leave. ” She said. 

“Thank you so much, Maam. ” I replied, giving her the letter. 

I left the office immediately and reached the airport. There was some person holding my name card turning towards the vehicles. 

I remember him as my dad’s secretary. I reached him, and he said that a private jet was waiting for me. 

I immediately took it and reached home. My parents just pampered me to a whole new level, making me forget about today’s incident. 

But I have to see him in two days… 

*Mr.Stone Pov* 

When she hugged me yesterday after getting saved I was stunned because I felt something. 

I felt fear when she was in danger, and I felt something else when she hugged me. I even took leave for the day after that without any work. 

I shouldn’t feel like this. I am going to get married in a few days, and I am not sure about that anymore. I started getting angry at her for making me feel like this. Sheela said she can’t come with me to my office from tomorrow onwards. She even said that she is hurt because of Ms.Pari. I shrugged it off. 

The next day when I reached my floor, I saw that Ms.Pari is giving cake pieces to everyone, and I couldn’t believe it. 

Is she also in those bets made on me, like give treats when they hugged me or something? 

I never thought she would act like them as well. And she told me about yesterday’s incident to everyone. 

I furiously reached near her and threw the box in the dustbin immediately and said so much not thinking properly in my rage. 

However, looking at the tears I couldn’t bring myself to say anything more and went inside the cabin to see a coffee cup upon the table. 

I never stopped myself from saying anything just because someone cried. Then why today? 

I was lost in my thoughts, but Di suddenly barged inside and shouted “What the hell is wrong with you?” 

“What the hell is wrong with you, Di?! ” I shouted in the same tone. 

“How could you say such things to her? I never thought you would become worse, like this. ” She said. 

“It is just not my mistake Di. She shouldn’t give treats to everyone saying about hugging me.” 

“She hugged you? ” Di asked me shocked. 

“You must have known it already, Di. You know about all this right." I said, shaking my head. 

“Tell me one thing, are you thinking that she is giving cake to everyone for hugging you like a treat? ” Di asked. 

“Of course, that is what’s happening out there. ” I replied. 

“You idiot! Today is her birthday and she was just celebrating with her colleagues.” she said snapping at me. 

“What? ” I asked her shocked. Is she telling the truth? 

“Yes. And as for hugging matter, she didn’t tell anyone about that.” Di said shaking her head. 

I am indeed an idiot! I stupidly said many stupid things which I don’t even remember. I made her cry on her birthday. 

“I didn’t know, Di. I assumed like that. I shouldn’t have done that. ” I said, frowning, and lifted the phone. 

“What are you doing? ” Di asked. 

“I am going to ask her to come inside so that I can kind of apologize.” I explained. 

“There is no use. She took leave for two days and already left. I hope you can at least control yourself before shouting at anyone from this moment onwards.” With that, she left my cabin. 

Damnit! What have I done?
