"Alright." Kendrick did not act on impulse. Deep down, he still believed that Matthew was a good person, not someone who would act recklessly. However, the scene he had just witnessed was undeniably unsettling, and it was hard not to overthink.

Matthew found a cafe. As they settled in, Kendrick took the initiative and said, "Explain yourself. If your explanation isn't satisfactory, I'll tell Cyn."

"The lady in the photo is a designer. We met to discuss the proposal and engagement rings. I'm planning to propose to Cynthia and surprise her," Matthew explained truthfully.

Kendrick frowned. He believed the reason Matthew provided, but the fact that Matthew had given the designer one of the rings to wear still left him uneasy. The implication of a man giving a woman a ring to wear was something he understood all too well.
