After a brief contemplation, Isabella asked him, "Is Luther's condition very serious?"

"You'll find out when you return," Isaiah replied. He was coming from his perspective as an older brother, determined to protect his younger sister from any harm.

Isabella felt torn. "Can't you tell me now?"

"No," Isaiah answered bluntly.

Isabella sighed in frustration. "Can't you give me a hint? At least let me know what's going on with him."

She hoped to discuss the matter with Luther again before leaving Jiverton.

"You'll lose the most important thing in your life if you're with him," Isaiah warned.

Isabella was taken aback. "Is it that serious?"

"Yes," Isaiah affirmed.

"Are you sure you're not lying to me to manipulate me? Luther is a polite and respectful person; he wouldn't do anything to hurt Mom and Dad. Besides, there's me," Isabella said, doubting Isaiah's words.
