03 : 2 years later (The familiar voice)

CHAPTER THREE

Two days later, Maynard already signed the divorce papers and had it sent back to Olivia, who was really quite distress over the incidence and out of anger, had her identity changed.

She no longer wants to have anything of Maynard with her. She wants him out of her life completely... For good!.

She did not think that Maynard would sign the divorce papers she left. Maybe she hoped for something else, like he'd look for her and ask her to come back. She was wrong, her sister was right.. Maynard is a completely different man now.

Not the man she got married to, but the man who threw his marriage away just to get back with his ex girlfriend.

These two days, Olivia hasn't been herself.. She feels hurt that Maynard betrayed her to this extent.

"Are you okay? I've been knocking for sometime now" Lucy walks in and Olivia immediately places the divorces papers down and sits up, resting her back on the head board.

".. You were staring at that again, weren't you?" She sits beside Olivia. ".. I thought you moved past this already?"

"It's a sight to behold Sister..!" Olivia responds, trying to put out a smile but deep down, she's hurting.

"You can't fool me with that smile of yours. Am your older sister, I know you better than anyone else"

Olivia bites her lower lip and bows her head, playing with her fingers. Lucy sighs loudly and reachs for her hands, giving her a light squeeze.

"I understand what you're going through Olivia. I know I don't have a husband and I have no idea what it feels like and what it means to be married but I know what's best for you..

...Divorcing Maynard was the best thing to do. It would have been a painful thing if you had want to keep living with it. As your sister, I want what's best for you and don't you ever think that you made a mistake. He made a mistake for letting go of you, he lost a gem"

Lucy pulls her into a hug and she couldn't hold back her tears and she let them out. After a while, they pull apart and Lucy wipes off her tears.

"Now, you have to stop crying and come eat breakfast before it gets cold"

"Before that Sister, there's something I need to do!"

She creases her brows and asks what that is. Olivia smirks and takes her phone, placing a call across to someone.

"Mr Harper.." She calls over the phone. "... Are you free to meet up with me? I'll send you the address!" Olivia disconnects the call and got off the bed, taking her purse.

"Where are you going? And what are you doing?"

Olivia turns to Lucy with a smirk, the look in her eyes were something else. It's the look Lucy has missed seeing over a year now... it's back.

"Doing what I should have done a long time ago! I have to go, am running late" Olivia dashes out of the room.

"Whatever it is.. Good luck on that!" Lucy yells but She was already gone.

"Mr Harper.!!" Olivia calls out, taking her sit in front of a middle aged man. They exchanged pleasantries and he expressed how delighted he was to see her after a really long time.

"Why did you want us to meet? I was quite surprised to see your call..!" Mr Harper said.

He used to be her manager while she still worked as a superstar actress at a movie industry. Her fame was top notch and she was known by everybody.

Mr Harper managed her pretty well and was slightly disappointed when Olivia announced she was going to quit acting. She did that because she was getting married to Maynard. She wanted to be a good wife to Maynard and she put her career on hold, now she's back to square one.

"You must have heard of my divorce with Maynard, right?" She ask.

"Honestly, I did.. I was unhappy it had to end up that way while everyone saw you guys as the perfect couple..."

Olivia let out a chuckle.. "Perfect couple?"..She mumbled underneath her breath.

That's what the masses thought... That she and Maynard were the perfect couple without knowing that they're nothing like that.

"I Know it's not in my place to ask what transpired between you two, but are you really okay?"

Olivia forces herself to smile and nods her head. "Of course Mr Harper, am perfectly fine! Let's not talk about Maynard and I, can we focus on the main reason why I asked us to meet?"

Mr Harper nods his head and says he's all ears. Olivia clears her throat and begins.

"I know that is been over a year since I left the industry and it would be difficult to gain my fame back. By chance Mr Harper, do I still have the chance to return back to the industry?"

Mr Harper smiles. "Of course Olivia! Definitely, you can return back! The industry is wide open and you're welcome anytime you like. Goodness! I've been waiting for this day to come, am sure your fans will be so happy to know of your return.."

"Thank you Mr Harper, I knew I can always count on you!.. I disappointed you and my fans once, I promise not to leave again, not for anything at all"

"I'll count on that Olivia. I'll look into my schedules and see if there's any movie you can play a role in and get back to you.."

Olivia appreciates Mr Harper for his help. She kinda miss acting on screens and getting all the love and fames from her fans. They must have been so disappointed to know she went off without leaving a trace.

Now, she's back. She knows she won't get it all at once but one step at a time and she'd get everything she once lost. This is her comeback!! Nothing can stop her this time!!.

~♠ 2 YEARS LATER ~♠

".. And it's a wrap!!" Olivia disengages from a hug and wipes off her tears, heaving a sigh of relief.

Finally, she's done shooting and it feels like a heavy load has been lifted off her shoulder. They have been working on a particular movie for like three months and it's been giving them a really tough time getting their characters well.

Olivia dabs her face with an handkerchief and sits while the makeup artists began to wipe off the excessive make-up on her face.

She's a born actress that's why she has a lot of fans. She gets into character really well and acts like it's real. Even when she's meant to cry in a movie, it's not fake.

Her career skyrocketed over this past years and in a blink of an eye, she got back into the lime light. She got her fans back like they have been anticipating her returning.

Olivia has nothing to worry about. Her career and trying to make a name for herself is all that matters to her. Maynard is history to her and she has no time to think about what happened in the past.

She cared less about what Maynard has been up to since their divorce, it really doesn't matter to her. She just wants this life she's living right now, never to end.

"Good job Olivia... you did great today!" Mr Harper says, breaking into her thoughts.

She smiles at him.. "... It's all thanks to you Mr Harper.."

"No! It's all thanks to your acting skills. It's hard to find someone as good as you Olivia that's why you were able to gain more than you first lost"

Olivia smiles again.

"We plan on throwing a party later, to celebrate this success, would you mind joining us?"

"Sure! That would be great Mr Harper!"

Mr Harper left and soon, the make-up artists were done. Olivia went to her quarters. She takes her bath and changes into her usual clothes. Pulling out her phone from her bag, a light gasp left her lips when she finds series of missed calls from Lucy.

Olivia's heart skips as thoughts fills her mind as she wonders why they're so many calls from Lucy.

She called Lucy back and as if she has been expecting her call, she picks up at first ring. Olivia ask what the problem is and explains that her phone was on silent and of course, she didn't hear it ring.

Olivia hangs up after Lucy tells her to come home quick and there's something she really needs to see.

Olivia quickly went to Mr Harper and said she won't be able to join the party. She left and drove home straight.

As soon as Olivia got home, Lucy steps out of her room, looking worried.

"You should see this Olivia. It came in this morning" Lucy gives her a letter and a box.

Olivia takes the box and opens it only to see a pocket knife placed in it. She takes a look at the letter and it reads.

"YOU DON'T JUST GO OFF AND RETURN THE WAY YOU LIKE. WATCH YOUR BACK. Your die-hard fan...." The letter reads.

"This is scary Olivia and the fact that the anonymous person sent you a knife in a gift box... I have a bad feeling about this!" Lucy says, taking the letter and box and disposing them into the trash can.

"I have no idea who's doing this. It's almost a year and this anonymous fan of mine won't just stop. First, it began with notes of admiration about my return and now, this?.."

"You must report this to the police Olivia, this isn't funny. You being an actress comes with dangerous things and you must not take them lightly. You have lots of foes watching you..!"

Olivia shakes her head and waves her hands in the air.... "I believe it's just some empty threat. Whoever sent this would probably get tired of sending them"

Lucy tries to state her fears and concerns but Olivia tells her not to worry.

"Why don't we go to the bar and celebrate Sister. I was supposed to have a party with the industry but I cancelled it as soon as you called. Let's go have a drink together"

"Not interested. We have to worry about ....."

"Stop talking about the letter and come with me!!!" Olivia cuts her off and pulls her along as they made their way out.

"That's enough Olivia, you should stop drinking!!" Lucy pulls the drink from her.

Olivia shakes her head and tries to take the drink back but Lucy didn't let her.

"Lets go home. you're already tipsy, you might end up drunk if you continue"

"Fine, fine! We'll go home but I need to use the restroom first!!" She stands and leaves to the restroom.

Meanwhile, Maynard steps into the bar, putting on a face cap and a nose mask. Lately, he's been stressed out, going from one shoot to the other, without having enough rest.

He feels like having a drink and relax a bit. It's a risk he took. Being an actor, he knows he has to keep his Identity on a low profile to avoid getting seen by the public but right now, he don't want to be the celebrity everybody knows, he just wants to be mixed with people, that's why he's here.

Maynard moves around the bar, careful not to let his guard down. He spots a quiet corner and walks towards it when he accidentally bumped into a lady and she fell to the floor.

"Am sorry, I didn't see you coming.!!" He said.

"It's okay, it's my fault am tipsy right now" The lady replies him as she tries to pick up her face cap which had fallen off.

Maynard stands transfixed for a while as the lady's voice resounded in his ears.. The voice, it sounds so familiar. Really, familiar that it actually sent a cold chill down his spine.
