Chapter Five

It's the next day (Thursday), and Mia and Gabriellle are dragging me to get our nails done. I haven't ever done acrylic before, but they wanted me to get them. Who am I to turn down having me hands lookk presentable for once in my life.

I shower and change into a long long sleeved shirt and shorts.

When I went downstairs to the kitchen, I saw my brothers (Mateo and Sebastian), Mia, Gabrielle, and Gabriel Hernandez (Mateo's bestfriend) there.

"Buenas dias." I greet them, and they all return my greeting.

I walk over to Gabriel, slapping his butt (something I did since we were small). 

"Gabriel." I say playfully.

"Sofia." He replied, glaring at me.

"Can you stop harassing my friend." Mateo says, pushing my head slightly.

I slap his hand away and say, "Nope."

They all laughed at our interaction.

A few minutes later, Mia, Gabrielle, and I left for the nail salon.

"How do you know Gabriel, Sofia?" Gabrielle asks randomly.

"He has been Mateo's friend since they were small." I explain.

"Oh." She says, blushing.

Mia was driving, so I was able to watch her expression.

"Do you like him?" I tease.

"W-what no." She stutters.

"Sure you don't." I say, dropping the topic.

She likes him.

Two hours later, I was back home, I got acrylic nails that matched the colour of my dress. I was tired when I came back home, so I just took a nap.

The day of the ball finally arrived, Vincenzo was going to be my date to the event. I was getting dressed at Amelia's house (because she was doing my hair and makeup). I also wanted to get dressed there because Vincenzo was picking me up tonight and I didn't want my parents or brothers questioning me, they know he will be my date because I told them and then went to my room to avoid any conversation about Vincenzo. I plan on avoiding them till it is time for me to go to Mia's house.

I've been at Mia's house for about three hours now, it's 8:09 pm and the ball starts at 9:30 pm, Vincenzo said he would pick me up at 9:15 pm.

Amelia already did my hair and makeup, I only have to put on my  dress and shoes, then I'll be done. Amelia doesn't have a date, so she'll be going with Gabrielle.

When Mia's hair and makeup were finished, we went into seperate rooms of her house to put on our dresses. We wanted it to be a surprise to each other, it was almost 9:00 pm so as soon as I was finished, I went over to Mia's room to see if she was ready also.

"Amelia Lopez, are you ready?" I ask, knocking on her door.

"Yeah, I am." She replies.

I opened  the door to see Mia in a long black dress with a slit on the side. She looked absolutely stunning. After we complemented each other, we went to Mia's backyard because she wanted to take pictures.

The time went by really fast because in no time at all, Cassandra, Mia's housekeeper, came to tell us that Vincenzo and Gabrielle were here. Cassandra is a beautiful woman in her 40's, she had been taking care of us since we were teenagers (since they were about 13-14), and she is married with two kids.

We follow Cassandra back into the house and where Vincenzo and Gabrielle stood in the living room.

Vincenzo was dressed in a black suit, and he looked handsome as frick. Gabrielle, like Mia, wore a black dress, but hers had sparkles and was fitted on her body. My eyes moved back to Vincenzo, who was already looking at me.

I walked over to him. He snakes his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

"You are beautiful, tesoro." Vincenzo whispers in my ear. [treasure/sweetheart].

"Thank you, you look handsome as well." I reply, blushing at his endernment. I could get used to these names he calls me.

"Are you ready, bella." Vincenzo asks me, realising his hold of me and holding out his arm for me.

I nodded my head, but before I took his arm, I went over to Gabrielle, telling her how beautiful she looked, hugging her and Amelia. I got my purse and phone, then walked back over to Vincenzo, linking our arms together (Amelia and Gabriella are driving in Amelia's car).

When we got outside, there was a black BMW X6 and a man standing beside it. The man who is obviously our driver opens the door for us, and I greet him with a smile.

"Hi, I'm Sofia." I say, still smiling.

He smiles back at me and says,"I'm Giovanni, signora."

I nod at him before entering the car, and Vincenzo joins me shortly after. I noticed that there was a bar blocking anyone in the front seat from seeing us and vice versa.

"You were flirting with him." Vincenzo says out of the blue.

I turn to look at him and say, " What, no, I wasn't."

"I was just being polite." I continue.

Vincenzo grips the back of my neck gently, but the action still sent shivers through my body. He tilted my head up so I was looking directly at him, I couldn't help but stare at his lips and bite mine. He noticed my actions and smirked down at me.

"Cazzo, bella." Vincenzo curses lowly, "Don't bite your lip." [Fuck, beautiful].

I stop my action and lips my dry lips.

"Do you want me to kiss you, mia bella?" Vincenzo asks teasingly. [My beautiful].

I nod my head giving him full consent to do so.

Vincenzo leans closer to me grazing his lips softly against mine until he finally moves closer, connecting out lips.
