Chapter 3

Felicity woke to the sound of knocking on her door. After she opened the door, she saw Stella standing there holding a suitcase. With a smile, Stella asked, "Can I stay here tonight?"

Handing her a cold soda, Felicity suddenly thought of something and smacked her own head, "How thoughtless of me. You don't drink carbonated drinks, right? I'll get you some milk."

"You don't have to," Stella opened the can and took a sip, "There is nothing I can't drink."

'In the past, I couldn't drink it because I was preparing to conceive. But now, as a divorcee, who cares about those things? I'll live as happily as I can. Let Keegan, that impotent man, prepare for pregnancy himself!' Stella thought to herself.

"You really want to divorce Keegan?" Felicity sat at the other side of the couch and asked.

"Mm," Stella paused before speaking, "He's with Bella again."

Felicity didn't hold back her anger, "Seriously? Is she shameless? She caused a scene at the wedding, and now, three years later, she's back again? Are there no decent men left in the world? Must she cling onto a married man and not let go?

"And Keegan, what a fool! Even dogs know how to find better bones, but he's stuck on that mess?"

Stella remained silent, realizing Felicity had indirectly compared her as a "bone".

Felicity cleared her throat and said, "Okay, that was just an example. But they're together now, and you're just going to accept it? Why fulfill the wishes of a cheating jerk? Confront them! She acts all innocent? Expose her for who she really is – a homewrecker!"

"But then what? Should I let everyone know my marriage is falling apart and be seen as the pitiful woman who can't even keep her own husband?" Stella sighed, "This marriage is already a huge failure, and I don't want to leave with so much humiliation."

"Wouldn't that make it too easy for them!"

Seeing Felicity's worried expression, Stella smiled and comforted her, "Actually, it's fine. In the few years of our marriage, Keegan hasn't treated me terribly. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had the chance to have these pieces of jewelry and handbags. Just thinking about not being able to wear them in the future still makes me a little sad."

Felicity disagreed. In the past, Stella had excelled in cultural studies and acting class, which led her to enroll in the theater department of Trinity Film Academy. She was beautiful, talented, and ranked first in her specialty. During those days, she had achieved everything. All the lecturers believed her future was boundless.

'If she hadn't gotten married right after graduation and given up on her acting dreams, she could have become a famous actress, and jewelry and bags would mean nothing to her,' Felicity thought.

"So, what's your plan after this?" asked Felicity.

"I'll take a few days off to rest and find a place to stay. After that, I'll meet the 'Honor of the Deities' crew for the voice-acting job," Stella replied.

"Do you ever consider stepping from behind the scenes?" Felicity inquired.

Stella paused for a moment, then replied, "It's been three years since I faced a camera. I'm not sure if I still have what it takes."

"Don't underestimate yourself just because you haven't been in front of a camera. You've gained almost ten million fans through voice acting alone! Actors nowadays can't even handle the basics of their lines and still manage to be famous. You have the looks and the acting skills, so what's holding you back? Even without extreme fame, you'd still do well for yourself," Felicity encouraged.

'Yeah, that's true. Even if acting doesn't work out, considering my popularity in voice acting, I can still lead a comfortable life. That's an option worth exploring,' Stella pondered.

Besides, she truly loved performing, and giving up on her passion for marriage had been a foolish choice. Luckily, it wasn't too late to make a change.

The conversation between Felicity and Stella continued late into the night. Eventually, Felicity's repeated yawns prompted Stella to encourage her friend to head back to her bedroom. Stella, on the other hand, settled down on the couch. Despite expecting to have trouble sleeping, she surprisingly dozed off swiftly. However, her rest didn't last long, as the urgent ringtone of her phone suddenly woke her up.

In a drowsy state, she answered, "Hello?"

Maya's voice came through the other end, sounding shaky. "Madam, do you know where you put Mr. Kane's blue shirt?"

Still half-asleep, Stella instinctively responded, "Second-floor wardrobe, the east-side second bracket from the left."

A moment of silence followed on the other end of the line. Maya hesitated before saying, "I've checked there, but it's not there."

"That can't be right. I personally put it there after ironing it. Ask Keegan if he moved it," Stella suggested.

Maya whispered, "Mr. Kane said he didn't touch it. Maybe you should come back and look for it."

In that instant, Stella was fully awake. She was sure that Keegan was standing in front of Maya. She remembered clearly which bracket all his clothes were placed in. How could Maya possibly not find them?

"If you can't find it, search every wardrobe carefully. The Kane residence doesn't have that many. Go through them one by one. If all else fails, just choose another shirt!" said Stella before ending the call.

Stella checked the time. 'Six in the morning! Keegan must be out of his mind to have Maya call me at this ungodly hour just for a stupid shirt! Is he insane?!'

Meanwhile, at the Kane residence, Maya turned around, visibly terrified. "M-Mr. Kane, Madam just hung up."

Keegan shot her a glare as he thought, 'Of course, I heard it. I'm not deaf, and the call was loud enough.'

"Mr. Kane, do you still want the blue one?" Maya asked nervously.

After a few seconds, he replied with a stern face, "Ask her which tie goes with the shirt."

Maya did not dare to say anything further. That shirt would go with the cream-white patterned tie. She remembered seeing him wear it multiple times. He practically wore it every day. How could he not know?

Maya could only call Stella again. This time, it rang a little longer before Stella picked up.

"Madam, I found the shirt, but which tie should it go with? You usually handle these pairings, and I'm afraid Mr. Kane will be upset if I get it wrong."

Stella rubbed her temples before replying, "The cream-white tie with the cloud patterns. It's in the left drawer, fourth level, third bracket."

She could hear some noises from the other end of the line before Maya whispered again, "I can't find it..."

Stella was at a loss for words.

"Let me talk to Keegan."
