Trevor clenched his fists, veins bulging on the back of his hand, but he did not get angry. He simply reached out and gave her a stack of cash, "Who did you give the child to?"

Under Trevor's cold gaze, Venice's voice trembled.

"After we handed the dead infant to the family of the woman in labor, Dillon left. I was afraid that the family would discover the matter, so I followed her to ask when she would give me the money. What if it was discovered? I needed to discuss what to do when that happens with her.

"She went to the rooftop alone, and I saw her talking to a man. I wanted to call out to her, but that man asked Dillon if the baby had died. I was startled and hid.

"Dillon said the child was dead before being born and then asked him when he would pay up. That's when I found out someone didn't want to buy the child; they wanted the child dead."
