Xavier's POV,

My mother's gaze and that of Kitara were sternly fixed on me and Kitara's eyes became bloodshot.

Her smile meant jealousy; it was transparent in her every gaze, and her eyes were locked into mine.

I sighed and shifted my gaze to my mother. The look on her face was normal, but I knew how cold she was.

She might not reveal it, but I knew what was going on in her mind; she picked up the teacup and took another sip.

The phone had stopped ringing, but I was unable to pick it up; I would be completely speechless while on the phone.

So there was no point in picking it.

"Sit down Xavier," her voice was calm this time. "Take a seat over there," she motioned her hand towards the chair that Gina sat on.

"Is there any problem?" My face was engulfed with a frown.

"Have your seat," she insisted on the word and I looked into her eyes.

But those eyes were void.

"Sure," I heaved a sigh. "I would do that."

"Did you actually lie to–"
