Amara's POV:

The following morning, I prepared in my room, knowing that Darlington was leaving very early to his office. I had spoken to him about accompanying Bella back to her school. Although from our research about her school's location, it was an hour's drive from the Briggs Mansion, so I prepared early, as it was 6 AM, knowing that Darlington likes to arrive early for work.

As I was done preparing, wearing a cream top and black skirt, since I wasn't so good at wearing trousers, my phone rang. Rushing to answer the call, I saw it was a missed call from Bruce.

*What does he want from me?* I wondered, but eventually answered his call on the second ring.

"Hello, good morning," I greeted Bruce, still wondering why he was calling me so early in the morning.

"Good morning, Amara. How was your night?" Bruce was asking me, and I replied, "Good. How about your own night?"

"It was okay. How about Darlington? Is he there with you, as I saw the way he was possessive with you last Sunday? I t
