After I finished having my lunch served to me by one of the maids in the mansion, I got a phone call from my mother.

"Hello mom," I said.

"Hey, my baby girl. How are you doing?" My mom asked, to which I replied, "I am fine."

I didn't want to inform my mother about how I was slapped by Samara. I didn't want my mother to feel bad about my staying here.

I felt there could be a way for Darlington and me to work out our relationship. Since I arrived, Darlington hadn't given me a reason to hate him, except for the fact that he normally acted cold towards me sometimes.

"That's good to hear. Actually, your father informed me that you wanted to return home. I wanted to call you, but he assured me that he had spoken to Mr. Joshua. How is city life over there?" Mom asked me.

"I haven't gone out of the house yet. I am still indoors." I replied.

"It's well. I know with time you will get used to living there and adjust to the Briggs family home. How about Darlington? Is he there with
