Chapter 4 - Close Sure

The next morning, I was awaken by my own alarm at 7AM, normal routine, cook, eat, bath and dress. I have to do that for an hour and a half but sometimes I have to skip some of those because there are class schedules that are early as 8AM. I rarely clean my own apartment because of my schedules, but gotta admit, I'm not the only one who has messy apartment. I just got a text message from an unknown number saying;

"Hey William, are you attending at our Uncle Mark's burial?" 

Bugger it! How did one of my brothers knew my number? Probably one of my parents gave it to them. I just ignored the message and continue preparing my stuffs to school. I bought coffee first before entering the campus, it's my hobby, drinking coffee, it has never been proven that drinking coffee will affect person's intelligence. 

Moving on, on my way to my department building, I started to look around me while walking firmly, I saw a groups of students, mostly nerds in different categories, some are just playing catch this early, some are acting as if they are the busiest person in the world, professors that looks scarier than Godzilla, whenever I saw professors like that, I'll immediately avoid contacts with them. To be honest, I only knew 10% of the population in this campus, I didn't joined any organizations and clubs because I thought they're just a waste of time, actually it's real waste of time, it will mend with my schedules. 

There I saw Lucas coming through opposite direction of mine and he's looking at me.

"Good morning William" he stopped walking while I continued to walk.

"Likewise." I replied while walking.

"Hey wait William!" he called and I stopped walking and he comes near, I didn't realized that he's taller than me.

"Look, I don't want to keep this awkward chemistry between us, and I want to say this in front of you, I know that you know about me, and I know what you are too, so let's keep this as secret between us, okay? I know that you are a Darcy and they don't allow homosexuality in the family". 

How the fuck he knew about that?. 

"So please, act natural when you encounter guys like us, got that? Now let's be friends and be comfortable to each other okay?" He added. Here goes the first asshole who knew about me, now I'm distracted. 

"Sure do, I humbly apologize for my actions". I said and continued to walk. 

On the lobby, Zelbert was there waiting for me.

"William, you have to see this." he said while showing me something ."

Zelbert showed me a news paper about the rumors about Mr. Wickham the Prime Minister' retirement.

"It's true, Jim told me."

"So, who will replace him? Your father?"

"That's what Jim said."

"That's awesome, you'll support him right?"

"Fuck him, he can't even support me, now he will take responsibility of England? How could he?"

"I understand, but I think it's cool that your Dad being the Prime Minister, who knows that he'll past it you someday."

"Zelbert, can we please not talk about this? You know that Mr. Wickham doesn't know I exist."

"Sorry, I forgot..That is why your father doesn't have Sr. after his last name right?"

"I'm glad about it, if only I could change my name easily."

"You can easily that when both us become a lawyer soon." said Zelbert while comforting me because he realized that my temper was triggered.

I was really disturbed about what happened earlier, I can't focus on the lecture here at the session hall. Then I received another text message from one of my brothers saying that 

"William, the burial is about to start, where are you already?". 

So I decided to set my phone into flight mode so that he can't disturbed me. 4PM, all my class are done, so I disabled the flight mode. A bunch of text messages filled my phone, I was shocked and worried at the same time, so I sat at the ground and checked them one by one.

"William, the burial has started, where are you now?"

"William are you coming?"

"The burial is almost finished"

"William, the burial is already done, why you didn't come?". 

Then I also received a text from Gerald.

"William, me and Zelbert is at the cafeteria, I suggest you should come here, there are lot of girls here".

But there's this text message that shocks me.

"William, it's okay that you didn't come to the burial, me and Billy will be waiting outside your apartment at 4PM,  we just want to hang out with you."

Bugger it!!!! It's Jim who's been texting me all along, did dad gave my number to him? They probably outside my apartment by now, so I have to go there immediately, I quickly grabbed a cab and went directly to King's Parade Avenue where my apartment is located.

"Where at King's Parade Avenue kid?" the driver asked

"Near at Nomad's Gift Shop". 

I don't usually ride cab by going and out at school, I prefer walking, but this time, I need to hurry so I grabbed a cab. I arrived at the apartment at 4:30, there , I saw Jim and Billy outside the gate sitting on roadside.

"Inside, now."

I said with low tone. They rapidly stand up and went inside. When they got inside, I never expected that they will be amazed because of the posters I put in the walls, the posters is about the movies I like, Harry Potter, Avengers and even the posters of my favorite band, ABBA, QUEEN, The Police and Westlife.

"So, how'd you guys know my address?" I asked.

"I asked Grandma Emma" Billy said.

"Jim, did you asked your father about my number?" I asked to Jim with suspicion

"That's your father too actually, and..no, I actually sneaked at his phone and there I saw your number.." he smiles. Now he's getting into my nerves. 

"Want something to drink? I have orange juice at the fridge" I offered them something to drink, they maybe tired of waiting for me.

"Um, no thanks." they both refused.

"Now, what you guys doing here?  Aren't you busy in your studies" I asked.

"Today is Friday, so, time to relax"  Billy said with a big smile."

"If you are going to relax, then why are you here?" 

"To take you out William" Billy quickly answered.

"That's right, we are taking you to the restaurant" Jim added with excitement. "Dad gave me a few quid".

I have to no choice but to accompany them, Billy came all the way here from St. Albans just to eat with me.

Jim took us to a burger restaurant at Guildhall St., according to him, it was his favorite restaurant.

"Seriously? Here? This place only offers one dish, burgers!" Billy said with his loud voice.

"Come on, give it a chance, you're gonna love this place, their burgers are addictive" Jim said with excitement. 

I just listened in their argument at the table, should I stop them? Maybe not, then a waiter came in our table.

"Mr. Darcy, it's you again", the three of us looked directly at her.

"What?" I said with confusion.

"Oh, Meryl, hi". Jim said with a smile. 

"Um, this is my brother, William Darcy and my cousin Billy Darcy, I took them here just to let them taste your burgers. Guys this is Ms. Hill, she's the manager in this branch." he added.

"Hello Darcys! Welcome!." she welcomed us with a smile. So Jim is a loyal customer here, no wonder he's so fat. 

Jim ordered for us, he ordered 9 burgers.

"There, it's their best selling burger and my favorite, 3 for you, 3 for you". Jim while distributing the burgers.

"What the, Jim, you expect us to eat this all? This burgers are massive, one is enough for me" Billy was shocked by the amount of burgers in his plate. Even me, this burgers is big as BigMac at McDonald's, I can't eat this all.

"Don't worry if you can't, because my belly is always open" Jim said while laughing. 

While we are eating, Billy asked me with a shocking question.

"William? You ever had a girlfriend before? or now?"

"Are you serious right now? You're gonna ask me that question?" I replied .

"Yes? I had a crush on my classmate, I like her". Jim just laugh while hearing that.

"Listen, I never had a girlfriend before because I don't want to, I just focused on my studies that's it, and another thing, you are too young for that, you're just 15! You are still on your puberty Billy, trust me, when you confess to her, she will say that she likes you then you'll be a couple, then a few weeks later, your relationship will become bitter and bitter and then you'll break up, and what's next? You will keep yourself away from your family, you'll lock yourself in your room while sulking and crying, and the worst is, it will affect your studies. So I suggest, no. Just focus on your studies." They were like mannequins and their burgers were stuck in their mouths after they heard that speech.

"Woah, William, I thought you never had a girlfriend" Billy said was shocked about what I just said in front of him.

"Hmm...I went too far, I'm just telling what's going to happen if you commit on her, Billy, you're just a child, I may never had girlfriend in my high school days, but I'm smart enough to predict what will happen if a teenager like you if you're hurt inside". Wow, that's a little serious isn't? I can't believe I'm saying this in front of them.

"That was the deepest shit I've heard in my entire life" said Jim while slowly clapping is hands.

"But William, I thought you never had a girlfriend? Why are you telling this to me when you don't have experience in relationships?" Billy asked with confusion.

"Like I said, I'm smart enough to predict the teenagers movement, goddamn it, I feel like a divorced forty year old man now, can we change the topic?" I said while putting the burger because I'm so full already.

"Well Jim, that's it, I only ate one and a half of the burgers you ordered" Billy said while rubbing his belly.

"That's okay, I'll take it out and eat it later at the house." Jim said while still chewing the burger, I can't believe this kid, no wonder he's getting fatter these days.

After we ate, we decided to take Jim first at his home on Milton. Exactly when we got a taxi, the rain is pouring hard, I mean really really hard that the wiper won't do. In the taxi, I sat on the front seat and the two is in the back. It came up on my realization that my father's home is just 4 miles away from my apartment, I expected that he will visit me often, but the last time I remember him visiting at my apartment was just on my 20th birthday, and that was on September 10 last year, he just came there, gifted me a laptop and greeted me a happy birthday and go. He promised to me a week before my birthday that he will take me out on a dinner date with him, I looked at the window and saw another man waiting for him outside. And I clearly heard them that they will have a fine dining at their favorite hotel. I refused Zelbert and Gerald to celebrate my birthday with them because I thought my dad and me will have a dinner together, bugger it, that's why I spent my 20th birthday alone.

I was awoken by the loud horn of the taxi we are in, the taxi driver and even me hardly can see the road because of the heavy rainfall. Then that's it, we didn't see the truck or the truck is the one who didn't see us, the truck is overtaking in the opposite road and directly hit the taxi we are in. Luckily, the truck was running on a low speed, it only hit on the driver's side, my right armed was bleeding because the front glass broke and it hit towards me and the driver, Jim and Billy's head bumped on the window so their heads are slightly bleeding and the driver's leg was stuck. We immediately went out on the taxi, since Jim's phone is water proof, I told him to call an ambulance while me, Billy and the truck driver will try to get the taxi driver out, luckily the taxi driver is not unconscious. After we pulled the taxi driver, we put him in the road side while Jim, Billy and me sat on the side of the driver while waiting for the ambulance to arrive, the truck driver promised that he will take the responsibility.
