“Sis, one thing I can't understand about Carol!” Alex puts two cans of beer in the glove compartment and looks at Brianna, who is in the driver's seat, a curious frown on his face.

“What?” she asks, taking out a cigarette, her tone casual as she lights it. “Need one?”

Brianna takes a drag, her expression indifferent. “Because she can’t.”

“She can’t?” Alex’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Why not? That villa is really big. I wish I could have a nice house like that!”

Brianna shrugs, saying nothing as she starts driving, sliding the window down to let the smoke out of the car.
