Chapter 27

I have always believed that my mom and dad were the best couple. Most times, they had matching outfits on.

Dad will always carry us, Mom, Ronald, and me, to the park every time he gets a chance. Dad was always careful not to offend Mom, and likewise, Mom.

The attitude they displayed in front of Ronald and me sent an indirect message to us, especially me. Ronald and I were doing great in our academics, which a child wouldn't be anyway when they live in a peaceful home.

I remember one time when Mom did something wrong and begged for Dad's forgiveness all night. I went on my knees with Mom too, to beg Dad.

An hour later, Dad came out, looked at Mom, and I shouted, “Ta daa, we were playing!” I ran into my room angry and smiling because I didn't expect that to happen.

Our family was the envy of everyone on our estate. One day at dinner, we were having my favorite spaghetti with grilled chicken when Ronald brought up a story his teacher told him in class.

“Dad? Mom?” Ronald called.
