Raya finally calmed down after a while, her breath coming out in hiccups, and she shivered in my arms, trembling.

I helped her to her feet.

"You should take a bath. You're shivering"

She didn't say anything and just nodded, and I led her to the bathroom where I set the bath to a warm temperature.

"I'll be outside if you need anything" i said to her and left, and I pondered on why she would have reacted to Mr. Rodriguez that way.
