Chapter 6

"Where is your husband?" Carol's father said they were having dinner together, but Alex wasn't there.

“He's in a meeting, he's been very busy lately,” Carol said.

“Are you sure he is busy with his work? I'm still curious about who Olivia is, there's a lot of news talking about that girl," Carol’s mother said.

"Mom, that's in the past, I don't know who she is, but now he's mine, so I'll make sure no one can take him from me, including that poor girl," Carol said.

"Call your husband now and tell him to come here, I want to talk to him," Carol's father said and Carol immediately took the phone to call Alex.

But she didn't get an answer to her call, of course, that was because Alex was busy with his other girl.

Alex couldn't seem to stop kissing Olivia in their bed, even though Olivia had asked him to stop because of the annoying phone sound.

"Alex stop," Olivia pushed Alex's body a little to stop him.

"What? Your lips are very addictive," Alex said and tried to kiss Olivia again but Olivia avoided him.

“Oh come on,” Alex said.

"Pick up the phone first, it looks like it's your wife," Olivia said.

“Shit!” Alex got out of bed, he wasn't wearing clothes at that time, he took his phone off the nightstand and went to the balcony of his room to answer the call from Carol.

"Hello?" Alex said.

“Finally, where have you been? I called you dozens of times,” Carol said.

“Meeting, what else? I told you,” Alex said.

"I know but my dad asked you to come here, now, he thinks you're cheating on me with another girl," Carol said.

"Oh really? But I'm still busy, I'll come a little late," Alex said.

“Whatever, but make sure you come and see him, I love you,” Carol said.

"I love you too," Alex said as he looked into his room, where Olivia was sitting on the bed in only her bra.

"What is it? do you have to go now?” Olivia said.

"Yes but no, we still have time together," Alex sat near Olivia and kissed his fake girlfriend’s face.

"Alex," Olivia said.

"What?" Alex said.

"Promise you will always be responsible for your baby," Olivia said.

“I promise,” Alex said.

"Go, your wife will need you," Olivia said.

"What about you?" Alex said.

"What do you mean?" Olivia said.

"Don't you need me?" Alex said and Olivia's mouth immediately snapped shut.

“Go,” Olivia said.

“I'll come again tomorrow, wait for me, okay?” Alex said.

"Okay," Olivia said, Alex gave Olivia a passionate kiss before looking at her and leaving.

Even though it was hard to accept everything, Olivia was slowly able to see what Alex wanted from her. Alex always treated Olivia well, there was no reason for Olivia to let him go other than because she never had him.

But now, she had a reason to stay there, the baby in her womb at that time was Olivia's strongest reason to survive. She may have to sacrifice herself being destroyed, her future being destroyed but she will not let her baby's future be destroyed just because the baby has to lose a father figure.

Alex sat next to Carol's father that night, they looked very serious, Carol was not there, Carol was busy with her mother in the kitchen, preparing snacks for her husband and father.

"You seem very busy lately, you make my daughter lonely Alex, that's not a good way to please me," Carol's father said.

"But Dad, she knows that even before I married her, I was already this busy, I can't leave my job just because I married her, she also has to understand my position," Alex said.

"I hope this marriage is not a joke for you, because you are dealing with the wrong person if you just want to mess with my daughter," Carol's father said.

“Why is the conversation so serious? Dad, don't make my husband uncomfortable," Carol came with her mother carrying snacks and placed them on the table before sitting next to her husband.

"I made snacks for you, try them," Carol said and fed him some of the cookies she made.

"Hm, that tastes good, thank you, babe," Alex kissed Carol's forehead in front of her parents, and that made Carol happy.

It was getting late, and Alex and Carol decided to go home, Carol continued to talk about her father and mother in the car, they couldn't wait to hear the happy news about Carol's pregnancy.

"I can't wait to hear the news either, what about you?" Carol said.

"Yes me too, that would be the most special news, and Carol, tomorrow I have to go out of town for my business," Alex said.

"What? why are you just saying it now? Gosh, I haven't prepared anything," Carol said.

"What do you mean? I can prepare it myself," Alex said.

“Aish, of course, I have to come with you, I have to go wherever you go, I can hang out while you're busy with your work," Carol said.

“Who allowed you to come with me?” Alex's voice turned cold and made Carol turn towards him.

"What's wrong with you?" Carol said.

“I'll send money to your account, go on vacation with your friends, and don't interfere with my business,” Alex said.

"Can I go to Europe with my friends?" Carol said.

"Yeah, do whatever you want, but don't interfere with my life," Alex said.

"Okay, that was easy, thank you, my hubby," Carol kissed Alex's cheek and took his hand, intertwining them tightly before resting her head on Alex's shoulder.

Being able to get Alex is the best thing that Carol has, she has been trying to be the only one visible in the CEO's eyes and her struggle has now paid off, Alex came to her and asked her to marry him, isn't that like a dream come true?
