Thank you for reading. Please leave me a gem if you are enjoying the Story.
Emily “Are you sure about this baby?” Liam asks and I turn to him as I drop my makeup kit. “I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life,” I respond and he nods because he knows I’m not going to back down. Last week I received a terrible note with a threat on it, Liam found me right when my panic attack started, and if not for him I don’t know how that would have turned out but I recovered and after thinking about it, I realized it’s all loads of bullshit! Why should I not live my life or why should my kids not go to a normal school? Because I’m married to a Billionaire? Oh hell no! At first, I was always living in extra fear from the texts and people like Victoria but then I realized that such people thrive and find satisfaction in other people’s weaknesses so I refuse to show any more weaknesses. “You seem angry. But hot kinda angry.” Liam whispers in my ear as he bites on my earlobe. “Because No fucker is going to take away my freedom! Hell, I’m going to Nina’s book la
“You made it?!” Nina exclaims with joy as she pulls me into a hug. “We are late, I’m sorry.” I smile while giving Liam a side glare. His actions delayed us but not that I’m complaining. “Hi, Nina. Congratulations.” Liam says right before he adds. “This is my friend, Theo, he loves to read.” Liam laughs at how cringeworthy what he just said sounds and I join him. “That’s a lame pickup line,” I whisper to him and he grabs me into his arms in response. Theo who is always serious stands awkwardly as if regretting his decision to tag along. “Nice to meet you.” He says and stretches out his hand. All those years I’ve known Nina, I know that she is never too stunned to speak but right now, it seems her mouth seems to have lost its voice. And the sight is surreal. “Nina?” “Oh.. sorry uhm. I tend to freeze a little during a book launch.” She lies and I almost laugh out loud but I know she will kill me later so I watch in silence. “How many books have you launched so far?” Theo ask
Emily “Diane?” He asks as he hugs her back and quickly pulls away. He notices me standing there and he quickly pulls me to him holding my waist protectively. The moment I saw her jump on him I couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy inside me and my stomach twisted for a second but I decided not to be paranoid. She could be his cousin for all I know right? “I’ll go check on the book princess,” Theo says as he excuses himself but it feels like he just doesn’t want to be found in such an awkward situation. But why is it awkward? “Diane this is Emily, my beautiful wife.” He says as he places a kiss on my cheek. A part of me knows he noticed my reaction and he doesn’t want any misunderstanding and that makes my heart warm and certain. “Baby, this is Diane.” He says. Just Diane? I ask in my head but I decide not to pry further. The woman is a blonde like Victoria. She is beautiful with a slender body in comparison to my fat ass. For a few minutes, I feel a bit insecure but I qu
Liam “Was that the girl who used to follow you around a lot when we were younger?” Theo asks and I nod, as I take a turn on one of the corners. “That’s some messed up shit. She used to scare me a little.” He adds with a laugh and I join in. I didn’t want to leave Emily alone but the look on Theo’s face told me I had to be there for my best friend. Seeing your young sister resort to drugs isn’t the prettiest sight. After going back and forth I finally gave in but I insisted on having her at my Dad’s house. Diane has been my childhood friend and even though I wasn’t very open, she did a pretty excellent job at following me around everywhere. Her parents got killed by some thugs as they were taking a walk for fresh air. It’s a pretty sick history but after seeing how her uncle was bent on mistreating her and even raising his hand on her, I decided to talk to Dad so that we could live with her. Everyone assumed we would eventually date and have some pretty babies and I let them think
Liam “I’ll have detectives work on it right away. It does seem suspicious to me too.” I finally respond to the doctor. “We have so many enemies I can’t even start to think about who has been close enough to her these past days,” Theo says worriedly. Placing both my hands into my pockets, I sigh before responding as I think through clearly. We may have so many enemies but we also have very powerful security and it only takes someone close enough to pull that kind of stunt. Convinced, I turn to Theo. “Does she have security? The one who is always with her?” “Yeah, why?” He asks. “He needs to have the answers. We will sort it out. Dr., Will she be alright?” I ask and Theo tenses next to me probably afraid of what the answer might be but we need to know so we can find a way to help her. The Dr nods in agreement, “Within a few weeks she will be okay but we just hope it won’t turn out to be an addiction where she goes looking for relief.” He ends the statement and walks away. I gri
Liam “But are you sure about it?” Emily asks as we lay in bed. I sigh as I pull her close to me leaving a kiss on top of her head. “No baby, I’m not.” “Then why are you doing this and does Theo know?” Emily asks me as she throws her leg on top of mine. “Yes he does and he’s okay with it. I know your medical research can help her and frankly, I don’t trust anyone else right now.” She nods deep in her thoughts when the door opens revealing my two precious angels. “Daddy!” They shout in unison and I smile as I open my arms for them to jump on the bed. Emily touches her heart as if she’s hurt before gasping, “What about me?” “But we’ve been with you all day long Mummy,” Kayden says and I laugh. It’s always refreshing to hear what answer they have for every question. Sometimes I forget they have such high IQs that I still get shocked at their responses. As the twins climb onto the bed, giggling with excitement, I pull them into a warm hug, the last days have been so hectic that I
Emily “Thank you for doing this. I know she has been crazy to you and Nina.” Theo says to me which earns him a smirk from Liam. “Nina huh?” I whip my hair towards Liam’s direction as if trying to confirm what I just heard and he nods his head confirming what I’m thinking. “You two need to grow the hell up.” Theo spits while rolling his eyes. I smile as I pretend to gasp, “Nina? What are you doing here?” Theo who was busy working on his laptop almost drops it as he whips his head to see if Nina is actually at the door making us burst into a fit of laughter. “Oh, you didn’t!” Theo shouts as he charges towards me making me scream as I run to hide behind Liam. We’ve been so busy that we didn’t even realize that Katherine had walked in. Liam called me two nights ago to ask me to treat her instead of the hospital. I’ve managed to study and learn about natural herbs and if not for the mess Victoria put me through, the research institute would have been far by now. I've made great p
Theo I watch as Emily quickly drags out Liam leaving me with Nina all by ourselves. Nina is a beauty and I fell for her the moment that I laid my eyes on her during her book launch. When that fucker tried to make her uncomfortable, I lost it, and Liam and I have never spoken about it since that day. There is a quietness between us as she fidgets with her hands. She is wearing a beautiful dress that holds her curves with canvas and her black curls make her big brown eyes pop out. “I’m guessing she didn’t tell you?” I ask her and her cheeks flush a beautiful red making me smile. “No, and I’ll kill her for that.” She smiles and it sends my heart pounding. “Do you want me to drop you off at home?” I ask her because I don’t want to make her feel uncomfortable, especially with how unstable Kate is lately. “No, I didn’t mean it like that. Let’s make that tonic. Did she leave the instructions?” She asks as she places her purse on the couch and walks to what I assume is the kitchen but en

Hayden “ Come on we are going to be late guys, Kayden will start his presentation very soon.” I tap my fingers on the table impatiently. When we turned eighteen earlier this year, Kayden was finally able to get his tech company launched which we are all supposed to be attending but Mum and Dad seem to be having time in reverse. “We are coming! Pick Maya up please” Mum says and I roll my eyes. Maya may be my little sister but she can be annoying as hell as right now, I want to be on my best behavior because beauty will be there today. “No Mum, Maya will misbehave and I want to impress Beauty,” I complain earning a chuckle from Dad who walks towards me and ruffles my hair making my frown and irritation disappear. As Kyaden and I grow older, the more we look exactly like Dad so I’m even able to tell how I’ll look years from now and I must say, it’s not such a bad thing. “She will gain you more points. Women find men who babysit attractive.” Mum says but I shake my head. “You’re goi
Three months later: Nina The church is decorated beautifully. There are white roses along the aisle, making it smell sweet. Candles have been lit, giving the church a warm glow. At the front, there is a pretty arch with white fabric and flowers. I peep through the window to ensure everything is perfect despite Emily who is my maid of honor telling me everything is perfect. It’s been three months since that incident that shook my life. I wasn’t panicking like I normally would but being on the verge of death twice made me realise something, that I don’t want to waste any second longer so the moment we reached home, I told Theo I wanted to get married. At first, he laughed and thought I was joking until he realized that I was serious. It took three months because he first wanted to make sure all the overseas offices were working perfectly before setting up his headquarters right here in New York. My girls had lost it when they realized that I was attacked twice but they knew that som
Theo “So you think this is over?” My uncle’s text reads making me grind my teeth in irritation. I’m about to respond but my sweet angel’s voice pulls me from the text. “Let me visit the restroom.” She says and I offer her a smile as I try not to show the displeasure that I’ve just received on such a happy day. “Okay, Princess,” I respond and she walks toward the restroom. Too many minutes pass as I start growing uncomfortable so I walk to the restroom. To check on what has gone wrong. When I get there it’s awfully quiet. “Nina?” I shout but I’m met with a silent response. “Nina!” I shout the second time but I don’t wait for her response when I walk into the ladies and find her purse and her phone on the floor. My heart beats loudly as the realization of what has just happened hits me. My uncle has taken my girl! My heart is pounding in my chest as I realize what has happened. I thought stripping him off his title and announcing his retirement would make him live in a corner but
Nina "A date mmmm, Maybe he'll propose!" Lily says excitedly but I shake my head. "We've joked a few times about it but I'm not sure he's ready. Any way guys, it's just an ordinary dinner nothing too crazy or extra!" I pause and look at the girls who are all looking at me with raised eyebrows. Because of our crazy schedules, we promised to always call each other on video so that we never miss a day in each other's lives. Kate is awfully quiet which makes me feel uneasy. "Kate is something wrong?" I ask making her shoot her eyes up with a shake of the head. "No, I'm sorry guys. There is this story that is giving me a headache. Nina, whether he proposes today or next year, Theo loves you and I don't think there is anyone else he'd rather do life with." A blush creeps my cheeks at Kate's words. I'm about to respond when I hear a car, "Okay girls, I've got to!" I shout as I quickly hang up and rush downstairs. As Theo's car pulls up to my house, I feel a flutter of excitement in my
One year later: Nina "This is great Nina, I'm so happy for you!" My manager says as we look at the list of how many pre-orders we have for the new book. It's like a dream come true. One which I didn't think was possible especially with how scared I was before I decided to give my dream a chance! I smile at her, "Thank you so much Miss Fanwell for believing in me and giving me this incredible chance." "No problem sweetheart, let's make today a success too!" She claps her hands together as we get the ball rolling. I take a seat at my table and start signing the pre-orders while we wait for 10 AM to open the doors. I run a smooth hand on my paperback and my heart swells with emotions. With a smile on my face, I take a picture and post it on I*******m for the first time in a year. After my Dad attacked me, I had been so paranoid and couldn't post my picture anywhere especially after I discovered how he found me. Social media can be a dangerous place to post most of your life. I'd leav
Emily I don’t know how much time has passed since I locked myself into my room but I can’t go out there yet. Not until I’m certain of the threat I just received. A soft knock at the door makes me panic as I think of a way out “I’ll be there just a minute.” I shout. As I’m about to stand, my phone vibrates and when I see Liam’s name flash on my screen my heart beats so fast. What if someone just found it and they want to give me bad news? With a shaking hand, I swipe right. “Hello?” My voice comes out shaken. “Baby? Are you okay?” comes Liam’s voice and my heart rests instantly replacing my fear with anger. “Why didn’t you pick up? I thought. I thought.” Tears start to fall on my face as all the possible scenarios return but I don’t know how to say it without him being angry at the fact that I kept the threats hidden from him for the past three months. “I had to take care of something. You won’t be receiving any threats anymore. I found the one behind it. Let’s talk about it whe
Liam After an hour-long drive, I finally reach a normal-looking house which I’m guessing is under another name and if anything happens here, no one will know, making a smile stretch across my face. This is about to get very interesting! I walk to the front door and open it carefully, the last thing I want is to be tied to a chair and put my kids in danger especially since I came here without backup. But I have a few friends nearby and they will be more than glad to help out. Pushing the door open, I step inside, scanning the dimly lit room. "Anderson, where are you?" I call out. The house is so empty, my voice echoes. I take a seat on the couch as I wait for the man of the hour to show up. "Liam, I'm glad you came," Anderson says, his voice calm but I can taste his fear at the tip of my tongue. I nod at him as he takes a seat on the other side. “You look better.” I begin and he chuckles but it’s a forced laugh. As I look at him clearly, I can tell he is having a hard time and h
Liam After leaving Theo’s office yesterday, I had to visit Dad and tell him what I was up to, and when he gave me the go-ahead, I knew I had to end this once and for all. I walk into the board room where the meeting is expected to be held. After digging some dirt for Smith shareholders, I was able to buy off their shares making me the largest shareholder with 51%. Victoria’s father wasn’t expecting to see me so when I stepped into the board room he looked at me in furry. “This is a shareholder’s meeting! “ He announces but I ignore him and sit on his opposite end. I want to see how his face will look while I strip him of everything he holds precious. “I’m well aware.”I smile. His assistant must have caught on because he leans in and whispers something to him which turns his face pale. I clear my throat as I stand and button up my jacket slowly. Everyone looks nervous because they didn’t expect me to be here and I know they’ve heard about me especially since some are the people I
