Emily The courtroom falls into a stunned silence as Theo and Katherine enter, I wasn’t expecting them to be here because it would be too emotional for Katherine. Nina “Are you supposed to be here?” I turn around and ask him but he walks dangerously closer to me my breathing starts to increase as fear starts to grip me slowly It's the man from the other night and he's wearing the same black clothes with a mask on his face. “You thought you had won? Is that why you ran away from me? Because of that little boyfriend of yours? No one will save you from your past my little girl not even him!” He now reaches me and grabs me by my neck squeezing me so hard stars start to form. [Flashback to when Nina was young] “Please Daddy I’m going to stop.” I plead as I reach for his big hands but he doesn’t move or reduce his grip. Hot tears are on my face as I plead with him but he refuses to listen. There is a coldness and his eyes are red as he stares at me with so much hatred. I’m now nine years old. We’ve been living together as a happy family. But tonight, I decide to see the stars from outside the house because I'm bored of staying in my room.

Theo “You came?” Liam taps my shoulder in greeting when the session is over. It took a lot of courage for Katherine to step into the courtroom with so much confidence and I’m so proud of her. My plan was for her to know the whole truth when all this was over but after leaving the hospital when Nina was discharged, it occurred to me that someone could use the news against me before the trial so I sat her down to explain and to my shock, she was calm about it. The man who dared attack Nina was being questioned and I hadn’t checked on how far they had gone or who sent him because of the trial. “How could I not?” I chuckled lightly. My phone vibrates and when I look at it, it’s a danger signal coming from Nina’s bracelet.”I have to go.” I stare at the screen as I try to look for her location. It has been four days since the trial was finally over. Instead of being a witness, William was instead prosecuted and found guilty of assault and abuse of power. Victoria was also found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment with no access to bail. Nina My phone rings for the hundredth time and I stare at it sighing heavily before swiping right. “Hi.” I blush the irritation immediately vanishing at the sound of his voice. “Hey book princess.” comes Theo’s thick deep voice. I smile like a high school girl as I bite my bottom lip, “This is the hundredth time you’ve called me in less than an hour.” I tease making him chuckle. “Just checking on my favorite girl. Move in with me so that I won’t have to call every hour.” Theo suggests making me roll my eyes as I fight the butterflies growing in my stomach. I smile again while twirling a strand of my hair in my finger, brushing off the joke. "Nice try, Theo. But I'm not falling for that.” “You’re right. We first start with putting a ring on those gorgeous fingers before anything else.” He whispers making me clench my thighs together when I’m all alone in the kitchen. “Theo..” I trail off unsure what to respond to that.
