Christian

"My assistant mistakenly got tickets to the delayed flight", John says on the call.

"Delayed? Of how many hours?" I exclaim and immediately strive to sound normal as I realise I was sounding too loud.

They were about to board the morning flight to return to Texas. I'm worried about the transplant procedure tomorrow. Patricia said they needed to bring Thea for a casual check-up. And the most important thing is I don't know if they will be able to make it back to Texas until tomorrow. That's so messed up.

"Not much. We'll be boarding this evening and hopefully, we'll reach Texas before ten at night", he says, giving me a bit of relief.

Thea didn't call or text me after the last time I replied to her. Even though I was pretty much at peace, I couldn't stop being concerned about the change in her decision. Her silence is the scariest one.

"That's great. I'm relieved that you and your team tackled the week so gracefully. I can't imagine the pressure of sudden action. Hopefully,

ChristianI clench my jaw and click my tongue against my cheek walls, inhaling deeply. Ivanna says I often do this when I'm controlling my anger. Why am I thinking about her right now? Because she's never out of my head. But I want her to stay out of my head from now to afterwards. Which I know is next to impossible. I hear the clicking sound of heels against the floor as Thea walks towards me. "It was not exactly a surprise to me", I say in a pressed tone and look up. She crosses her arms, stops by the desk and smirks. "You were expecting me?" She whispers, dancing her eyebrows."Yes. Because I'm compelled to expect you over here", I say. "But not so fast. Of course""Well—" she lets out a deep sigh and walks towards me. Leaning back to the desk, she scoots over the desk, hell closer to me. She crosses her legs, brushing against my thigh and slides her hand around my neck.I gulp down. Again. I roll my eyes. I inhale deeply. I press my lips tighter. Only to control my frustratio

ChristianMy breath hitches and no words escape my lips. Her eyes are straight into mine, devastated and terrified. The next moment, she drives her eyes away and holds onto the door as if she's tripping over. Her body shudders against the door and she rolls her eyes, darting onto the floor. Her lips part open and she breathes heavily. All of that happens in just a few seconds. And every second seemed like the longest one. My brain freezes the moment she again looks up at me. Her eyes are not pooling with tears and her jaw is clenching. I have never seen her in this much anger and pain before which I could see only in a couple of seconds. The nightmare again flashes in my sanity and it ices me on the spot. She was looking at me the same way she was looking at me right now. The same anger and pain filled her eyes. She was numb in the same way. That fear crams inside me again. What if from this moment, the nightmare comes true? To my terror, it does. Ivanna doesn't say a thing and turn

ChristianI slump onto the bed, placing my elbows on my thighs and rubbing my palms against each other. My legs are shaking. I drop my head, chewing my bottom lip. I'm at a loss for words. I hear the sound of water splashing. Minutes pass. My head is overloaded with millions of thoughts. Tomorrow is a big day for Chrissie. At this point, I don't know whether to handle Ivanna or convince Thea. I don't care about Thea unless she's not related to Chrissie. But at the end of the day, I'll need her for Chrissie. What am I gonna say to Ivanna? And will she even trust me if I tell her the truth? She'll never trust me after what she saw today. I can't imagine the pain she must be going through. What if the nightmare comes to be true and she leaves me before I can explain it to her? "God!" I grab my head, groaning heavily when the door clicks open. I immediately turn around, spotting Ivanna in the washroom room. She comes out, wrapped in a towel. She's completely silent. And cold. She doe

Christian I can't believe my ears after what I hear. Did she really ask this? I gawk at her in disbelief and shock. "I'm asking something, Christian. Answer me", her hoarse voice booms around the walls. "Did— did I accidentally send you the mail?" I stutter. "Which mail?" She curls up her face, a bit annoyed by not getting the answer. "I wrote a letter for you", I say nervously. "This morning. And I scheduled it for tomorrow. Evening. I wrote everything that you— you should know. Did you already get it?" I ask.Her reaction doesn't change. "I don't know which mail you're talking about, Christian. But you should know that I don't need any mail, letter or— or words to trust you"The last words from her shake my soul. They come out so powerful and intense that it sends jolts all over my body. Her eyes start to fill again. "I never needed anything to trust you, your love, your efforts, your loyalty or anything. Never", she seethes. "When I said I trust you, I didn't mean that I trus

IvannaWhile we all were enjoying the beer and Christian left to sleep, I was already getting concerned. I didn't let him know that I had seen Thea's name on the notification. It worried me after I recalled how he reacted to his phone. I kept my calm even though it was freaking me out. "This Albert is getting on my nerves", Kane slammed his phone aside after reading a text. "What happened?" Emily asked. "I mean what did he do again?""Is he really in talk?" I asked."Nah. An asshole is being an asshole. Nothing new with that. We are kind of used to his shit. Just because he's one of the most powerful clients we have to tolerate him", Kane sighed. "What does he want now?" Emily asks. "He's going crazy for the New York Fashion Week. It was supposed to be held next week but Christian postponed it to next month. Maybe, because of the surgery. He doesn't seem impressed""Screw him!" Emily shrugged and took all the empty bottles. "I need to do the dishes now""Wait. You—" Kane strived t

IvannaWith Christian's shocking statement, I feel the earth sliding away beneath me. I gape at him in disbelief, no words escaping my throat. I find it impossible to believe. Even process. Even accept. I shake my head, being unable to utter something. He keeps his eyes straight on mine. Blood red and swollen. There's anger, frustration, pain— all the mixed emotions that he has been hiding. Mostly anger. I clutch his hand tightly, expecting him to change the statement. But it doesn't happen. "Thea is her mother, Iv", he repeats as if he understands that I'm not believing it. "This is true"My hand slips down from his shoulder. I look down. My eyes keep frozen at the ground, hollow and clueless. The next moment, I cover my mouth in utter realisation. My eyes have popped out, my heart buzzes faster than before and all of a sudden, everything has just changed."I didn't believe it either, Iv", he says. Ivanna"What the hell!" I exclaim, immediately getting off the bed and rushing towards the window to close it. But the wind was so heavy that I struggle to pull them. My body freezes with the chilling wind and snow covering my face. "Back off!" Christian screeches and hauls me behind and he reaches the window. It doesn't take him more than a few seconds to close them. "What was that?" I groan, slightly shivering due to the blow while rubbing my arms. "Snowstorm", Christian says, rubbing his face. "I can see that. But why suddenly?""It has been chilly since last night. But I didn't expect a storm", he sneezes right away as he can't handle the cold even for a second. I turn on the furnace right away and surge to get a sweatshirt down. "What's up with this network?" I hear Christian freaking out. "It's gonna act up from now", I walk towards him near the bed and hand him the sweatshirt. "Put it on before you catch a cold"He puts it on his lap and again gets into the phone. "Why

EmilyI surge around the office while chaos is going on. The loud noise of current news in the city chimes from the television placed near the reception. More than half of the crew is gathered over there. We just landed back in Texas last night from New York. The weather was acting up since then but I had no clue it would get this worse.Everyone is asked to be in the office until the situation gets back to normal, or at least the roads are safe. I'm panicking over here since I have no clue what the fuck Kane is!I have been calling him ever since I got to know he's not in the office. There was a mini storm in the office itself before we came here. According to some employees, Christian and Ivanna might have argued over something and Ivanna left in a rage. Christian followed. I don't know what they're fighting on right a day before Chrissie's surgery."Come on, Kane!" I shrug as I can't get him on call. The network keeps crashing. But whenever I get a few seconds, he doesn't pick up

JohnGetting married in the 50s isn't that strange anymore. But for me, it was— for a man who believed his marriage would last forever and then believed he would never marry again. I stood before the mirror as Ryan helped other groomsmen with their last fit."You all look pretty handsome. Ready to leave. But I wish Kevin had that time to get a good fit. Your suit sucks!""I feel better anyway", Kevin snarls. I chuckle while fixing my bow tie, watching my sons in their 20s still fighting like toddlers. It's been a blessing for me to have a family which didn't break even after the biggest disaster. And maybe it was because, in our family, it had always been us. Me and my two boys. Their mother wasn't there. The death was just a formality. I didn't really change that much. My boys were happier than ever after she died. It's really mean of me to think that way but it was the truth. They were traumatised because they were kids. As they grew up, I realised they had a better and healthier

  • Mr. CEO, Marry Me On Conditions [The CEO's Replaced Bride]   Announcement : Samuel and Chrisanna's book

It's been a while since I updated this book. However, I have delayed letting you know that I'm writing a book on Samuel and Chrisanna titled "Dispute Marriage" You'll find it on my goodnovel profile. This book is a bit different from others which don't have a forced marriage trope or any abusive family since you are already familiar with both families. The story revolves around two childhood friends Samuel and Chrisanna and their sudden marriage after Samuel disappears from Chrisanna's life for eight years. The book deals with heavy mental issues and a dark past. Slow burn. Please give that book a try and let me know if you like it. And I would like to know if you would want a short portion of John and Georgia's story or a direct epilogue to close the book.

Tiffany Emery runs to Sebastian. "Da—dy"And he immediately drives his eyes down and takes her in his arms. They both look at me lovingly. Now, I don't feel bad about pushing the wedding. I wanted them to do this honour because if there's anyone in this world I still love more than Sebastian and Emery, My eyes become teary as I walk to them. Sebastian spreads his arm at me and I immediately dig into his chest. He leans closer to my ear."My beautiful bride"I smile against his chest and look up. He takes my hand and leads me to the centre. And I'm not scared to ask you that—"With that pause, my heartbeat stops and my entire body shivers when I wait for him to complete."Will you marry me?" I feel goosebumps littering all over me with those words. Did he really ask me for marriage? It takes me a while to process. His eyes are full of fear and hope and I'm left in shock. Never in my wildest dreams, I had imagined he would propose to me. I hear some people around cheering up and root

TiffanyTime indeed flies like air and it happened in my case in a better way. In the best way, actually. I started my job in the daycare centre with all the lovely kids around which made my life less monotonous after Ryan and Kevin left. They are doing good in their new school and John has also settled into his new office over there. I and Sebastian balanced our life beautifully, supporting each other. As days and weeks passed, our love grew stronger. Among everything, I was happy with the fact that I have my identity now. A good identity. My salary doubled in just three months after joining for my good service and the way all the kids related to me. In a year, I was promoted to manager of the daycare centre, life couldn't be any less beautiful. It's been two years, I and Sebastian are together and we are living our best life. We hardly argued and most of the time it was just silly. He loves to tease me and I go along with it. Sebastian has become the most demanding lawyer in the

TiffanyWe spent the last two days painting the house and I can't describe how beautiful it came out. We did some changes like replacing the furniture and donating some. If everything goes well, I'll be here in less than three days.John has finished all the preparations in Hong Kong and he's leaving the day after we decided to move in. It all happened so fast but I'm glad that John is recovering. It's been eight months since the tragedy and I know it's gonna take years for him to overcome this. I'm happy for him but I would be happier if there was any chance that he finds someone to love him as much as all of us found a person to love.It sucks and I hate the fact that all his life he never found someone like that.I and Sebastian carry the portrayal I had in my room for years. It's a huge one and Sebastian suggested we should place it in the living room because it's beautiful. It's a painting I got from an art summit years back, featuring a mother and her small daughter, surviving

Sebastian"Really, Sebastian? I have never seen you this excited before", Georgia says as I show her some themes I'm confused with and I end up telling her the whole plan. "Isn't it something to be excited about?" I blurt out. "She's moving in with me. Isn't it amazing? People can't even go past dating and we are really moving in!" I tell her and she smiles wider, sitting in front of my desk."That's true", she says. "I'm just wondering what you would do once you guys announce the marriage!" she laughs but on a serious note, it makes my heart stop for a while. She pauses, looking at me. "Sorry. I should not have said that?"I chuckle. "Nah! Nothing like that. I just spaced out when you talked about marriage""Ah! So, that means you're thinking about it", she leans to the desk. I scratch the back of my head with an awkward smile. "I could marry her the moment I saw her! But hell! I'm not repeating any mistakes from the past. Maybe, I'll wait for a while before proposing to her. And t

Tiffany We stop by the nursery. It's one of the biggest nurseries in the city which I can completely believe by the way it looks. The boys run into the green surrounding and I and Sebastian slowly walk to see the plants. One of the workers accompany us, showing us all the kinds of plants we could use for decor. "I want the real ones", he says as I scan those plants which need no sunlight. They would be perfect for indoors."These are real ones too. These are just indoors", I say, watching his expression change. "But I still don't find the realness in them. You can take these. I'll look for others", he walks away to find his REAL plants as I shake my head at him in disbelief. We load all the plants we have got for the decor and Ryan and Kevin took two small ones to plant in the yard. Even though they won't be staying here, they wish to see it all grown up when they would occasionally visit. After that, we stop by a restaurant to have lunch. Surprisingly, Sebastian didn't suggest h

Tiffany We talked a lot today. I'm glad that I took this whole day out for him because we needed to have this conversation. I have finally decided to move in with him. Nonetheless, it'll come with more challenges and I'm ready for it. This decision will not only make our relationship stronger but also give me a world of my own. I can't wait to finally live my life in my own conditions and happiness. Sebastian asked me if he could help me anyway. But I refused to take any help from him as I did with John. It's my call to explore and look for opportunities which I'll be doing from today. I'm thinking about having a conversation with John again. I want him to change his decision of holding back until I settle down. Because that's impossible. I'll need a lot of time to clean the mess and organise my life and I think I'll surely do it if I have Sebastian.I'm glad that Sebastian understood me and more than that he trusted me enough.
