Ivanna

"Your body isn't suitable for IVF, Mrs Scott", my gynaecologist Elena says with a sigh. "There's a risk in this procedure"

It's been another year. A year since I got to know I'm barren. I never dared to utter that word in front of Christian because I know he's gonna last out at me. He indeed doesn't want a child as long as I'm with him. But I know it's just a part of him. Parenthood is something anyone can hardly not want.

Especially to me. I wanted to live the bond with my child which I missed. Mom left me before I was even eligible to understand what death is, and never being loved by my dad. I wanted to be a mother and live the bond I had missed. I wanted to see Christian loving our kids and being the best father that my dad could never be.

There were a lot of things to matter.

As the doctors suggested, I was on medication for an entire year only to hear this.

As I hold my tears back, I feel Christian's hand on mine as he tightly holds me. I look at him, his eyes intense

Christian'Chrisanna', our baby girl, brought another version of happiness to our lives. The name is definitely a combo of our names but it has a specific meaning. 'Golden Flower'.Things were not as complicated as they seemed before. It was a little tough for us to deal with parenthood and growing our work together. However, Mrs Fisher and others were always there to help us out.The first month of Chrisanna's entrance into our lives was tougher because of Ivanna's final year exams. But our princess could never be the obstacle. Ivanna studied while taking care of her while I was busy with my work as well as supporting Ivanna to take care of Chrissi. We used to keep sleepless nights while taking care of Chrissi together. Even though she was a year older, she still had the habit of waking up at midnight. If she was a newborn, it would not be hard, but she wanted to crawl the entire house. I never thought I would like to ruin my sleep for anyone else except for Ivanna but Chrissi was s

Five years laterChristian"You're staring at the clock for fifteen minutes straight, Mr Scott. Is anything wrong?" Dr Patricia speaks. "Is there anything right, Patricia?" I ask, blinking slowly as my eyes burn— the result of not blinking straight for fifteen minutes. That's what Patricia said. I don't remember the duration. I hear her sighing deeply. She has been doing it more frequently. Each time Patricia lets out a sigh, I feel a part of my life dissolving. My daughter is dying!Ivanna used to say "Death is a slow poison"It's indeed killing me every time Chrisanna tries to breathe. She needs a nanosecond more than us to breathe, she needs to give an effort to breathe. It feels like someone has pressed my throat tightly, shoving me to death each time I watch her suffering. "Annalyn, please bring Chrisanna", Patricia says. I immediately shake my head and look at the mirror beside me, forcing a smile. This has been a regular habit. How can I even smile when two precious parts o

Ivanna Eight years. I have been kissed and claimed by these lips for eight years straight. Still, whenever the taste of his warm mouth hits me, I feel a jolt of heat and pleasure relishing through my body. I wonder if he still feels the same for me or if it's just a matter of needs— just because he has to stay with me— he has to keep the urge alive till the end. This thought haunts me every day. Eight years are not much time to get over the feeling. But when life gives you tolls over tolls, the tiresome is natural. I fear one day, we won't be sharing even a kiss for months or years. Maybe.Or maybe not.But I love him. I do love him more than I used to do before. After Chrisanna, life has been different, yet Christian gave me reasons over reasons to love him. Especially when I see him as the father in the world. He filled a void in my heart. I love watching Chrissie getting loved and pampered by her father which I never got from my father. I fell in love with Christian again when

Christian "I'm coming home early today. You can finish your work if you want", Ivanna's text arrives.I stare at the words, the lines. Then I scroll up. Upper. We have been sharing such texts for months. There was a time when we used to share silly chats and tease each other. Now everything seems to have faded. And it's strange that now we text each other and ask the other one to stay back at work, not come home early. It's not that she doesn't want me back at home, but she knows that my business is going through some crucial phases. I have lost more than four big contracts in the last six months. Tragic! Every time I had to rush to the hospital when Chrissie fainted or threw up blood. Even though everyone was around her, my heart didn't permit me. My family has always been my priority. If it was possible, I would leave everything and stay beside Chrissie all the time but if my business crashes down, I'll not be able to give her the best treatment either.Life is so fucking crucia

ChristianI'm expecting her to say the same— to tell me that she has missed me too. I know she did. But instead of uttering anything that I want to hear, she gawks at me with her two big stunned eyes as if she wasn't expecting this. I hope I didn't make it late to tell her. Securing her tightly against my chest, I lean back to the headboard as she tries to settle herself comfortably on my lap. A small smile curves on my face when I recall those days when I used to pamper Chrissie on my lap and she used to join too. She occupied half of my chest and lap saying that I'm not being fair. She wants an equal share. "Iv", I call her out as she shudders. It seems like she was lost somewhere else. "Hmmm", she hums, looking up at me with her big icy blue eyes. This woman is 29. I can't believe I still find that childish innocence when she's in my arms— completely different. She has actually come a long way. Six years have passed since she became a mother. And a year since she has become

ChristianI feel a soft touch against my cheek, nuzzling my skin with tender strokes. A smile curves on my face as I strive to open my eyes to see the most beautiful view. I hold the hand laying upon my cheek and drag it down to my lips, keeping my eyes still closed. I kiss the smooth palm and finally open my eyes wider, waking up by treating my eyes with her sight in my cabin."Good morning", a whisper comes from her. Her lips widen into a smile at me as I stare at her face glowing through the sunrays near the window— as if an angel landed to wake me up. I keep leaning against the chair, devouring her sight with my drowsy eyes when she decreases the gap between us, locking my hand with hers and scooting onto my lap. I immediately snake my hands around her waist."Good morning", I mumble, smiling at her lovingly. She cups my face and leans closer to me, then gently places her lips on my forehead. I close my eyes to feel that blissful kiss more effectively. It's been so long since sh

Christian It's near twelve when I reach Ivanna's firm. I don't know how she's gonna react. Is she hurt or angry? Or both? As time passed gradually, I realised I overreacted. I should have tried to know why she suddenly reacted this way. Since when did I become so careless about Ivanna? It felt like it had been ages since I had observed her. Last night when I did, I found so many weird things in her behaviour. Later, I acted like a dumbass. Because I can't tolerate it when she makes me feel like my love for her has changed. I always try to treat her well and make her feel better. When she acts like I'm only showing my love for formality. It irks me out. "Good afternoon, Mr Scott", Caleb greets me as I reach the reception and Ellen passes me a smile. Over the years, Ivanna has made a great team and undoubtedly, she fulfilled her promise. She made me proud in every possible way. "Good afternoon""Ivanna is in her cabin", Ellen tells me with a smile. "As you said, I didn't tell her

JohnGetting married in the 50s isn't that strange anymore. But for me, it was— for a man who believed his marriage would last forever and then believed he would never marry again. I stood before the mirror as Ryan helped other groomsmen with their last fit."You all look pretty handsome. Ready to leave. But I wish Kevin had that time to get a good fit. Your suit sucks!""I feel better anyway", Kevin snarls. I chuckle while fixing my bow tie, watching my sons in their 20s still fighting like toddlers. It's been a blessing for me to have a family which didn't break even after the biggest disaster. And maybe it was because, in our family, it had always been us. Me and my two boys. Their mother wasn't there. The death was just a formality. I didn't really change that much. My boys were happier than ever after she died. It's really mean of me to think that way but it was the truth. They were traumatised because they were kids. As they grew up, I realised they had a better and healthier

  • Mr. CEO, Marry Me On Conditions [The CEO's Replaced Bride]   Announcement : Samuel and Chrisanna's book

It's been a while since I updated this book. However, I have delayed letting you know that I'm writing a book on Samuel and Chrisanna titled "Dispute Marriage" You'll find it on my goodnovel profile. This book is a bit different from others which don't have a forced marriage trope or any abusive family since you are already familiar with both families. The story revolves around two childhood friends Samuel and Chrisanna and their sudden marriage after Samuel disappears from Chrisanna's life for eight years. The book deals with heavy mental issues and a dark past. Slow burn. Please give that book a try and let me know if you like it. And I would like to know if you would want a short portion of John and Georgia's story or a direct epilogue to close the book.

My eyes flutter open at his handsome face. No words come out of my mouth. I'm at a loss of words."I know you're shocked! And I'm not scared to ask you that—"With that pause, my heartbeat stops and my entire body shivers when I wait for him to complete."Will you marry me?" I feel goosebumps littering all over me with those words. Did he really ask me for marriage? It takes me a while to process. His eyes are full of fear and hope and I'm left in shock. Never in my wildest dreams, I had imagined he would propose to me. I hear some people around cheering up and root

TiffanyTime indeed flies like air and it happened in my case in a better way. In the best way, actually. I started my job in the daycare centre with all the lovely kids around which made my life less monotonous after Ryan and Kevin left. They are doing good in their new school and John has also settled into his new office over there. I and Sebastian balanced our life beautifully, supporting each other. As days and weeks passed, our love grew stronger. Among everything, I was happy with the fact that I have my identity now. A good identity. My salary doubled in just three months after joining for my good service and the way all the kids related to me. In a year, I was promoted to manager of the daycare centre, life couldn't be any less beautiful. It's been two years, I and Sebastian are together and we are living our best life. We hardly argued and most of the time it was just silly. He loves to tease me and I go along with it. Sebastian has become the most demanding lawyer in the

TiffanyWe spent the last two days painting the house and I can't describe how beautiful it came out. We did some changes like replacing the furniture and donating some. If everything goes well, I'll be here in less than three days.John has finished all the preparations in Hong Kong and he's leaving the day after we decided to move in. It all happened so fast but I'm glad that John is recovering. It's been eight months since the tragedy and I know it's gonna take years for him to overcome this. I'm happy for him but I would be happier if there was any chance that he finds someone to love him as much as all of us found a person to love.It sucks and I hate the fact that all his life he never found someone like that.I and Sebastian carry the portrayal I had in my room for years. It's a huge one and Sebastian suggested we should place it in the living room because it's beautiful. It's a painting I got from an art summit years back, featuring a mother and her small daughter, surviving

"Isn't it something to be excited about?" I blurt out. "She's moving in with me. Isn't it amazing? People can't even go past dating and we are really moving in!" I tell her and she smiles wider, sitting in front of my desk."That's true", she says. "I'm just wondering what you would do once you guys announce the marriage!" she laughs but on a serious note, it makes my heart stop for a while. She pauses, looking at me. "Sorry. I should not have said that?"I chuckle. "Nah! Nothing like that. I just spaced out when you talked about marriage""Ah! So, that means you're thinking about it", she leans to the desk. I scratch the back of my head with an awkward smile. "I could marry her the moment I saw her! But hell! I'm not repeating any mistakes from the past. Tiffany We stop by the nursery. It's one of the biggest nurseries in the city which I can completely believe by the way it looks. The boys run into the green surrounding and I and Sebastian slowly walk to see the plants. One of the workers accompany us, showing us all the kinds of plants we could use for decor. "I want the real ones", he says as I scan those plants which need no sunlight. They would be perfect for indoors."These are real ones too. These are just indoors", I say, watching his expression change. "But I still don't find the realness in them. You can take these. I'll look for others", he walks away to find his REAL plants as I shake my head at him in disbelief. We load all the plants we have got for the decor and Ryan and Kevin took two small ones to plant in the yard. Even though they won't be staying here, they wish to see it all grown up when they would occasionally visit. After that, we stop by a restaurant to have lunch. Surprisingly, Sebastian didn't suggest h

Nonetheless, it'll come with more challenges and I'm ready for it. This decision will not only make our relationship stronger but also give me a world of my own. I can't wait to finally live my life in my own conditions and happiness. Sebastian asked me if he could help me anyway. But I refused to take any help from him as I did with John. It's my call to explore and look for opportunities which I'll be doing from today. I'm thinking about having a conversation with John again. I want him to change his decision of holding back until I settle down. Because that's impossible.
