Thank you for reading and for the gems too! I really appreciate your love and support.
Gasps echoed around the finance department as they stared at the man who walked through the door. The man was none other than Henry Ford! He approached Eric and Jason with four men following behind. Jason’s eyes widened. He pointed a finger at Henry and exclaimed, “You should be dead! What are you doing here?” Eric Hamilton was equally shocked. He had seen the state of Henry’s car on the news. Why was he still alive? Who died in that crash? Henry chuckled darkly. He glanced at the duo and sneered, saying, “You celebrated too soon. Did you see my remains for you to think I’m dead?” Jason and his father shared a look. Blade had confirmed that he had killed Henry. Even his wrecked car was captured on National TV. Eric Hamilton forced a smile and glanced at Henry. He remarked, “So, you’re alive? That’s great news! We were all sad that you met your end in that accident. How did you survive?” Everyone’s mouths gaped at the elderly man’s acting. He was so smooth that one would think
“I’m excited to see the kids. I loved how they helped you propose to me,” Roxanne said as they drove into the Ford’s foundation. To celebrate Henry's victory, they decided to spend some time with the children at the Ford Foundation. It was a beautiful four-story building with many bedrooms for the kids. A large lounge where the kids could watch TV, a gaming room and theatre were also part of the building. It was like a mansion with many bedrooms. The Foundation was built to accommodate a lot of children. The backyard was also a sight to see. A lush green lawn surrounded part of the area. It was wide enough for kids to play. One could spot a large pool in the backyard, safeguarded by a small fence to prevent the little kids from falling in. Roxanne hadn’t seen anything like it. Most of the orphanages she had seen were built like school hostels with no luxury or comfort whatsoever. “They are smart kids. Most of them were abandoned by their mothers and others were given up for a
Henry spent two hours emptying the bar. He didn't want to disturb the staff so he did it by himself. Roxanne was adamant about getting rid of all the alcohol in the house. She said it smelled like rotten eggs and was making her sick. He picked up his favorite bourbon and his heart clenched. 'Does it mean I won't have my favourite drink for the next few months?' It hurt to part away with his favorite drinks but his wife came first. Still, when he reached for the last bottle, he glanced at Roxanne and asked, "Babe, can I at least keep one? This one doesn't smell that much." Roxanne frowned. She folded her arms across her chest and asked quizzingly, "Do you love me more or the alcohol more?" "What?" Henry's eyes almost popped out of their sockets, his mouth dropped to the floor. "It seems you can't live without your alcohol. Who comes first to you, your wife or your alcohol?" Henry was bereft of words. He didn't understand where all this was coming from. How could a simple question
It took two hours for Henry to finally find food that would not make Roxanne sick. After having the chef prepare meal after meal, Henry decided to take his wife out, food hunting. It being a weekend, he didn’t have to worry about being late for work. However, he worried about the fuming pregnant woman who was like a ticking time bomb. Having an angry pregnant woman was scarier than the stock price of Ford Corporation dropping. One would lead to an unhappy wife and the other would lead to huge company losses. Henry was afraid of the former because happy wife, happy life. Roxanne couldn’t keep any food down. Not even the street food that she suddenly wanted to try when they passed through a Sunday market area where various food stalls were selling food. She tried a hamburger, tacos and a burrito but she couldn’t even go past the first bite. However, as she sighed in disappointment, her eyes gleamed when she saw a stall selling some fresh pickles and an idea crept into her mind.
“Oliver, why did you do that?” Henry asked as he sat next to the boy. “Why did you try to jump over the fence? Don’t you know it’s dangerous?” Oliver lowered his eyes. His cute little face had a few bruises that had already been treated. He was an eight-year-old boy with sandy brown hair and squishy cheeks. He played with his fingers on his good arm, averting the adults’ inquisitive gazes. “I do,” Oliver answered in a low voice. His face was red from all the attention he was getting. Roxanne stepped forward. She lowered her head so she could look into Oliver’s eyes. She softly inquired, “Were you trying to run away?” Oliver shook his head. He replied, “No. But the guard wouldn’t open the gate for me.” “Why didn’t you ask Celeste to help you out with what you wanted?” Roxanne asked again. Henry remained silent, watching the two interact. It seemed Oliver was more responsive to Roxanne than him so he let her talk to him. “Because… because I didn’t want her to feel bad,” Olive
“I can’t believe this. Are the Crawfords crazy? Why would they abandon their own child?” Roxanne was perplexed. She had heard of the Crawfords. Although they couldn’t match up to the Smiths in wealth, they were slowly rising up the ranks. The Fords were the richest though. Roxanne couldn’t imagine why the whole Crawford group could let a child stay in an orphanage. “That was my reaction the first time I heard about it too,” Henry responded. “Four years ago, I had come to the city to check on the foundation. I was 26 by then and I was not yet ready to fully return but I wanted to fulfil my mother’s dream by taking care of the children at the foundation. That was when Oliver was brought in by the butler of the Crawford family.” He recalled how the four-year-old Oliver clung to the butler’s legs and begged him not to leave him there. It was a heartbreaking sight. ~Flashback to four years ago~ Henry Ford had just returned to the city to oversee how the foundation was running. He li
“Are you really sure, babe? I need to know if this is just a pregnancy emotion thing,” Henry asked his wife. “I want you to think this through because once we make this decision, we have to stick to it till the end. Making Oliver ours is not a pregnancy craving that you can outgrow. It’s forever.” Roxanne bit her lower lip. She knew her heightened emotions could have given her the courage to make such a suggestion but she was certain of her decision. She smiled and said, “Oliver reminds me of my past. I was a stranger in my own father’s house. I can’t even imagine what kind of life he would have lived if he stayed with the Crawfords. It’s always sad to see a father who’s not willing to put in the effort in raising his child. That man believed it so easily when someone else told him the boy who had been with him for four years was not his. He’s not worthy to be called a father.” Henry kept quiet as he listened to his wife. Although he never had such an experience, he could still p
In the evening, Oliver was allowed to leave the hospital since his condition was just a fractured arm. “We’ve never tried the bone stimulator on kids yet so he will just have to wait this one out,” Doctor Brown explained. “Just remember not to make the cast wet. A wet cast can lead to skin infection or irritation. So be mindful when giving your son a shower. You can come for a review after a few weeks.” “I can shower by myself, doctor,” Oliver objected and the adults laughed. “Not for the next few weeks. Your parents will help you,” Doctor Brown replied. Oliver held Roxanne’s hand and then he looked at Henry, realising he couldn’t hold Henry’s hand because of the cast. His shoulders dropped a little and he sighed, saying, “I wish I could hold both your hands.” Henry wrapped an arm around Oliver’s shoulders. He responded warmly, “For now, I’ll hold you. We can hold hands when you get better.” The new family proceeded to the foundation to get Oliver’s things. Henry had already b

Three years later... Henry Ford woke up very early. It was the month of love and a few days before Valentine's Day. As usual, he wanted to do something special for his wife as he asked her to be his Valentine. They had been married for ten years and he always asked her days before the actual day in a special and romantic way. Since this was about them, he wanted to do everything himself. He filled up some red balloons with air and scattered them around the sitting area downstairs and the dining area. After getting busy in the kitchen, he whipped up some breakfast for Roxanne- heart-shaped pancakes drizzled with syrup and strawberries covered in chocolate. He had seen this recipe from a trending video on t-i-k-t-o-k and thought his wife would love it. He then got the roses he had got for her and put them in a glass vase before placing them on the dining table. When Roxanne woke up and looked for her husband, she woke up to the transformed living room and dining room. She
Five years later… It was a Saturday and the Fords were hosting a family braai for their son, Oliver Ford, to celebrate his new age. Roxanne sighed as she glanced at Oliver who was helping his father, Henry Ford. They stood by the barbeque grill stand, flipping meat, sausages and chicken kebabs. Oliver didn’t want a huge party on his fifteenth birthday… he just wanted to spend time with family. However, Roxanne had invited Claire Hamilton and his other friends, Liam Kent and Jake Norton. They had all grown and were now teenagers. Running around playing tag like the younger kids didn’t interest them at all. Claire and the two boys sat at one of the tables. While Claire was taking pictures of Oliver, his friends were busy playing games on their phones. “Are you impressed with your son and husband?” Heather’s voice snapped Roxanne out of her trance. “They look so cute… I swear, Henry is a great Dad and Oliver adores him,” Roxanne replied, glancing at her husband dreamily as he
Diego and Henry rushed to the mansion in less than twenty minutes as if there was an emergency. Henry looked for his wife when he entered the mansion, yelling, "Roxy? Baby, where are you? Let's go to the hospital!" At the same time, Diego followed after him and called for Yolanda, "Princess, let's go to the hospital. The earlier the better!" They both paused when they found their women in the living area laughing and chatting with Larry Ford and Kenneth Smith. Henry furrowed his eyebrows. He remarked, "I thought you said you're not feeling well. You look fine to me..." Larry Ford glared at his grandson. He scolded him, "Son, if your wife says she's not feeling well, then find out what could be wrong with her first before concluding. Should I teach you everything?" Henry scratched the side of his neck. He tried his best to be a good husband but there were times like this when he had faults. Being human, he was bound to make mistakes or maybe say something wrong. He wasn't perfe
Two months had passed since Yolanda and Diego got married. Although they were happy, Diego had noticed that his wife missed her job. Yolanda was an independent woman who loved working for her own money... Of course, Diego provided for her but he could see that she wasn't used to staying home and shopping only. It would even affect her mood sometimes. Diego thought about a way to have his wife get back to her job. Quite alright, it would be dangerous for her to be in the spotlight with all their rivals targeting them but that was why he was around, right? It was his job to protect Yolanda and ensure her life didn't change just because she fell in love with him. So, before he could bring it up to her, he met with his brother and requested to move back to Brentwood City. Augusto glanced at Diego after he made his request, his brows furrowing as he asked, "What is it? Is this place not up to her standards?" "No... it's not that. I just want her to be happy and if doing her job mak
Yolanda's heart was galloping like a racing horse. Diego's promise echoed in her mind, making her look forward to what he would do to her. She tilted her head up, asking for a kiss and Diego didn't disappoint. He connected his lips to hers and kissed her hard. They began to move towards the bed and Yolanda fumbled with Diego's buttons as she tried to undress him. Meanwhile, Diego was busy deepening the kiss with every second that passed. He grabbed the back of her head while the other hand reached between them and he stroked her core, rubbing her clit with every movement of his fingers. Yolanda moaned against his lips. She failed to get rid of Diego's suit and instead, wrapped her arms around his neck and jumped on him, coiling her legs around his ripped torso. In that position, Diego held Yolanda's ass and began grinding his massive erect shaft into her bare core... Despite it being hidden by the branded pants he had on, Yolanda could still feel the tip of his rod, digging at he
Diego carried Yolanda into the cabin. Yolanda's eyes grew wide as she looked around. If she thought the outer form of the cabin was dreamlike, the inside was like paradise itself. The wooden cabin wasn't big. It was like one big room with a small kitchen in the corner, a huge bed in the center, a bubbling hot tub on the left near one of the windows and a bathroom on the right side. The bathroom area had an enclosure for privacy. Not only did they have several acres of land to themselves, but they were surrounded by maple trees with fiery red leaves which could be seen through the huge windows. The whole place was giving "leave the world behind vibes". It offered a perfect blend of romance, peace and refreshment for the newly married couple. "Are we still in our family's estate?" Yolanda asked and Diego smiled. He loved especially the way she used the word 'our' in her question. Sliding an arm around Yolanda's waist, Diego pulled her closer and then put her at his front bef
Diego Montero realised something. He loved Yolanda with his all. Whether he waited weeks or months to propose, she would still be the woman he would want to spend the rest of his life with. Yes, they didn't know what tomorrow may bring. But who ever knows? Everyone jumps in without knowing the obstacles they will face in the future. If there's anything he learnt from his former boss, Henry Ford. It's that as long as you had your loved one by your side, any other problem felt like a passing breeze. After talking to his brother, Diego asked the housekeepers to help out with the proposal. Of course, the housekeeper who had helped Dahlia was fired. In the Mafia, loyalty was everything. Diego instructed the bodyguards to control the drones he had shipped over earlier before they travelled. Augusto helped too. He stood downstairs near the drones, waiting for midnight so that they could control the drones to help Diego propose. Yolanda woke up and they had dinner outside on the balc
Diego didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He glanced at Dahlia and asked, "Why did you come back? If you had stayed hidden, at least I would have had good memories of you... but now... you disgust me." "D-Diego... that's not true. Your brother forced himself on me. That's why I faked my death. I was so ashamed-" "Shut up! Aren't you tired of scheming? Do you think I can believe you over my brother? My brother came from the same womb as I... we may fight and not speak to each other for years, but I know he would never do anything to hurt me," Diego's words sliced through the air like shards of ice, cutting Dahlia's words in the middle. "That's not true... why did you leave? It's because you hated your family!" Dahlia answered confidently. She wasn't convinced that Diego had moved on. He loved her very much and could do anything for her... how could his love for her end so quickly? Diego shook his head. He replied, "I left because I was hurt that they didn't want to avenge yo
