Thank you for reading.
The day of the plane crash... "That was so sloppy! I told you getting married would be a distraction, how could you be so careless?!" Jasper Renard, Adrian Carter's coach, screamed in his face. They had just come back from the pitch, their faces sad since they had lost the final tournament. This was all because Adrian made a mistake for the first time. He was trying to tackle the ball from the opposing side but he ended up making an own goal when the ball accidentally deflected into his team's own goalpost, thereby scoring points for the opposing team. The game which had been at nil for both was now 1-0, with Brentwood City on the losing side. Luck wasn't on their side that day, they ended up losing the game. "It was a mistake, coach," Nick Jones defended Adrian. "We are human after all. It's normal to lose or draw a game. We can't always win." The other teammates nodded in agreement. Adrian had helped them win so many games. It wasn't right to blame him for one small mistake.
“My fiancee?” Adrian asked, furrowing his eyebrows. “Yes, baby,” Chen Wei replied. She smiled and added, “And your name is Adrian Carter.” “Oh… really?” Adrian searched his mind but he was pulling blanks. He couldn’t remember anything. Chen Wei secretly smirked. It was a good thing she had taken off Adrian’s ring when he was unconscious, otherwise, he would have had suspicions. She had always wanted to get back at Heather for stealing what was hers. Adrian was supposed to be her husband and CT group was supposed to be her company but the vixen came out from nowhere and stole her position. Chen Wei decided to use this opportunity to make Adrian hers. They could marry in a foreign country and then, she would make him divorce Heather Jacobs when they returned to Brentwood city. “I’m your fiancee and we planned to get married in a week. But since you’re hurt, we can move it to two weeks,” Chen Wei said. She looked at Adrian and said coquettishly, “I was so worried about you.”
A week later... “Sir, I've found something in the island's local town,” Diego reported, looking tired after running around the whole day. Diego had undergone a whole transformation. He cut his curly hair and now, he had short hair on the sides with medium hair on top of the head. He still wore glasses but the haircut gave him a more manly look. Henry was talking to some locals on the island, showing them Adrian's picture and asking if any of them had seen him. He looked at Diego and asked, “Have you found him? Where is he?" "Not necessarily finding him but I found traces of Adrian in the local town hospital," Diego replied regrettably. Henry's eyes lit up. He said, "Traces of him are better than nothing. It means he's alive! Lead the way... I want to see for myself and search for clues." They had been searching the island for a week. Most of the Brentwood team players were found and rescued but Adrian was still nowhere to be found. It was like he had disappeared from the fac
Diego Montero and Henry Ford were busy investigating Adrian's whereabouts after he left the hospital. They were almost finding a lead when Diego's phone rang. He was about to pick up the call but Henry's phone rang at the same time. They both shared a look, hoping it wasn't more bad news. It had been one hell of a week and they hoped they wouldn't have more problems before they found Adrian. However, it seems things were not in their favour. Diego's eyes widened when he answered the phone. It was his cousin, Justin Montero, who had called to deliver the devastating news of what happened to Yolanda. Diego yelled on the phone with bloodshot eyes, "What?! Yolanda has been kidnapped?!" Henry raised his head sharply, just as Roxanne who had called him reported the current situation in Brentwood City to him. He furrowed his eyebrows and replied, "Stay home with the kids and Heather. Don't go out alone... Diego just got a call too. Don't worry, she will be found." When Henry cut his
Diego narrowed his eyes at his elder brother. He scoffed, thinking he had been right all along. His brother was going to use this situation to his advantage. Augusto Montero was ruthless, coldhearted and cunning. However, when it came to his little brother, he was soft like a pillow but strict like a father. He never wanted Diego to leave the Mafia. According to him, family should stick together. Augusto never married or had kids. To him, he wanted Diego to be his successor. Diego could only guess what the condition was. The only thing his brother would want from him was to stay by his side and help with the family business. However, was Diego ready to leave everything behind and embrace that world again? He wasn't. But for Yolanda, he would bring the world to its knees for her. "I'm ready to do anything. I came here knowing you won't help me for free," Diego declared, glancing at his brother. Despite knowing what he would ask of him, he still asked, "What's the condition?"
Chen Wei's plan was simple. Since trying her best to please Adrian wasn't working, she decided to use the sympathy card. No man would continue being cold after seeing a woman's tears. Well, Adrian could do that but he wasn't the same Adrian as before. He had lost his memory and didn't know what he was like. His character and personality were nothing but a blur to him at the moment. If she was determined enough, Chen Wei thought she might be able to change Adrian into the man she wanted him to be. She wanted to make him a puppet who would be at her beck and call. A wicked smirk crossed her lips when Adrian proposed to proceed with their marriage. However, Adrian was oblivious to her change of expression and continued, "I'm not promising that I'll be loving since I can't remember you-" "It's fine... as long as you keep your promise to marry me," Chen Wei interrupted his words. She smiled and said, "You've just made me the happiest woman in the world by saying that." She reache
In Brentwood city, the ladies and their children had gathered in one place for safety purposes. Since Henry and Roxanne's mansion was safer, they decided to stay there as Henry and Diego searched for Adrian and Yolanda respectively. Roxanne had taken some days off, leaving the company in her assistant and manager's hands. Being the managing director, she could work from anywhere on her laptop, so she took this chance to accompany her best friend as they awaited news from Henry about Adrian's whereabouts. It hadn't been easy. Heather was an emotional mess. Whenever she was left alone, even for a few minutes, she would start crying and Roxanne would find her in that state. This broke Roxanne's heart. She didn't know how to comfort her friend. Telling her to stop crying was also insensitive. All Roxanne could do was sit next to her and cry with her before comforting her and encouraging her to be strong. Roxanne was in the middle of comforting Heather after another crying episode w
Adrian Carter was feeling confused. He didn't understand why he was naturally so cold to his fiancee and a part of him doubted if they used to be in love. Their chemistry was off and he often felt like a thousand ants were crawling up his skin whenever Chen Wei tried to touch him. However, she had shown him proof of them being together and a video of how he proposed to her in front of a lot of people. 'If I proposed to her, it means I loved her, right? But how come she creeps me out now?' Adrian questioned himself. Attributing his confusion to his memory loss, he felt guilty for treating Chen Wei coldly and avoiding her as though she was a disease. She had been good to him so far, the least he could do was be kind and treat her well. When he woke up, he wanted to apologise for the way he shoved her to the ground the previous night. But before he could do that, Chen Wei walked up to him with a request. She was smiling so gently that Adrian wondered if she wasn't hurt by what

Three years later... Henry Ford woke up very early. It was the month of love and a few days before Valentine's Day. As usual, he wanted to do something special for his wife as he asked her to be his Valentine. They had been married for ten years and he always asked her days before the actual day in a special and romantic way. Since this was about them, he wanted to do everything himself. He filled up some red balloons with air and scattered them around the sitting area downstairs and the dining area. After getting busy in the kitchen, he whipped up some breakfast for Roxanne- heart-shaped pancakes drizzled with syrup and strawberries covered in chocolate. He had seen this recipe from a trending video on t-i-k-t-o-k and thought his wife would love it. He then got the roses he had got for her and put them in a glass vase before placing them on the dining table. When Roxanne woke up and looked for her husband, she woke up to the transformed living room and dining room. She
Five years later… It was a Saturday and the Fords were hosting a family braai for their son, Oliver Ford, to celebrate his new age. Roxanne sighed as she glanced at Oliver who was helping his father, Henry Ford. They stood by the barbeque grill stand, flipping meat, sausages and chicken kebabs. Oliver didn’t want a huge party on his fifteenth birthday… he just wanted to spend time with family. However, Roxanne had invited Claire Hamilton and his other friends, Liam Kent and Jake Norton. They had all grown and were now teenagers. Running around playing tag like the younger kids didn’t interest them at all. Claire and the two boys sat at one of the tables. While Claire was taking pictures of Oliver, his friends were busy playing games on their phones. “Are you impressed with your son and husband?” Heather’s voice snapped Roxanne out of her trance. “They look so cute… I swear, Henry is a great Dad and Oliver adores him,” Roxanne replied, glancing at her husband dreamily as he
Diego and Henry rushed to the mansion in less than twenty minutes as if there was an emergency. Henry looked for his wife when he entered the mansion, yelling, "Roxy? Baby, where are you? Let's go to the hospital!" At the same time, Diego followed after him and called for Yolanda, "Princess, let's go to the hospital. The earlier the better!" They both paused when they found their women in the living area laughing and chatting with Larry Ford and Kenneth Smith. Henry furrowed his eyebrows. He remarked, "I thought you said you're not feeling well. You look fine to me..." Larry Ford glared at his grandson. He scolded him, "Son, if your wife says she's not feeling well, then find out what could be wrong with her first before concluding. Should I teach you everything?" Henry scratched the side of his neck. He tried his best to be a good husband but there were times like this when he had faults. Being human, he was bound to make mistakes or maybe say something wrong. He wasn't perfe
Two months had passed since Yolanda and Diego got married. Although they were happy, Diego had noticed that his wife missed her job. Yolanda was an independent woman who loved working for her own money... Of course, Diego provided for her but he could see that she wasn't used to staying home and shopping only. It would even affect her mood sometimes. Diego thought about a way to have his wife get back to her job. Quite alright, it would be dangerous for her to be in the spotlight with all their rivals targeting them but that was why he was around, right? It was his job to protect Yolanda and ensure her life didn't change just because she fell in love with him. So, before he could bring it up to her, he met with his brother and requested to move back to Brentwood City. Augusto glanced at Diego after he made his request, his brows furrowing as he asked, "What is it? Is this place not up to her standards?" "No... it's not that. I just want her to be happy and if doing her job mak
Yolanda's heart was galloping like a racing horse. Diego's promise echoed in her mind, making her look forward to what he would do to her. She tilted her head up, asking for a kiss and Diego didn't disappoint. He connected his lips to hers and kissed her hard. They began to move towards the bed and Yolanda fumbled with Diego's buttons as she tried to undress him. Meanwhile, Diego was busy deepening the kiss with every second that passed. He grabbed the back of her head while the other hand reached between them and he stroked her core, rubbing her clit with every movement of his fingers. Yolanda moaned against his lips. She failed to get rid of Diego's suit and instead, wrapped her arms around his neck and jumped on him, coiling her legs around his ripped torso. In that position, Diego held Yolanda's ass and began grinding his massive erect shaft into her bare core... Despite it being hidden by the branded pants he had on, Yolanda could still feel the tip of his rod, digging at he
Diego carried Yolanda into the cabin. Yolanda's eyes grew wide as she looked around. If she thought the outer form of the cabin was dreamlike, the inside was like paradise itself. The wooden cabin wasn't big. It was like one big room with a small kitchen in the corner, a huge bed in the center, a bubbling hot tub on the left near one of the windows and a bathroom on the right side. The bathroom area had an enclosure for privacy. Not only did they have several acres of land to themselves, but they were surrounded by maple trees with fiery red leaves which could be seen through the huge windows. The whole place was giving "leave the world behind vibes". It offered a perfect blend of romance, peace and refreshment for the newly married couple. "Are we still in our family's estate?" Yolanda asked and Diego smiled. He loved especially the way she used the word 'our' in her question. Sliding an arm around Yolanda's waist, Diego pulled her closer and then put her at his front bef
Diego Montero realised something. He loved Yolanda with his all. Whether he waited weeks or months to propose, she would still be the woman he would want to spend the rest of his life with. Yes, they didn't know what tomorrow may bring. But who ever knows? Everyone jumps in without knowing the obstacles they will face in the future. If there's anything he learnt from his former boss, Henry Ford. It's that as long as you had your loved one by your side, any other problem felt like a passing breeze. After talking to his brother, Diego asked the housekeepers to help out with the proposal. Of course, the housekeeper who had helped Dahlia was fired. In the Mafia, loyalty was everything. Diego instructed the bodyguards to control the drones he had shipped over earlier before they travelled. Augusto helped too. He stood downstairs near the drones, waiting for midnight so that they could control the drones to help Diego propose. Yolanda woke up and they had dinner outside on the balc
Diego didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He glanced at Dahlia and asked, "Why did you come back? If you had stayed hidden, at least I would have had good memories of you... but now... you disgust me." "D-Diego... that's not true. Your brother forced himself on me. That's why I faked my death. I was so ashamed-" "Shut up! Aren't you tired of scheming? Do you think I can believe you over my brother? My brother came from the same womb as I... we may fight and not speak to each other for years, but I know he would never do anything to hurt me," Diego's words sliced through the air like shards of ice, cutting Dahlia's words in the middle. "That's not true... why did you leave? It's because you hated your family!" Dahlia answered confidently. She wasn't convinced that Diego had moved on. He loved her very much and could do anything for her... how could his love for her end so quickly? Diego shook his head. He replied, "I left because I was hurt that they didn't want to avenge yo
