Thank you for reading. I hoped I would finish the book by month-end but I was slow in updating. I still have some chapters left. But I'm sure to complete the book this month. Happy new month! Thank you for supporting me and giving me gems. I really appreciate it.
Weeks came and went in the blink of an eye. Today was the day Yolanda Nicholson's contract as RG shopping mall's brand ambassador was ending. She sighed as she stepped out of her white Porche car, glancing at the building. It was over a year since she walked into the mall thinking she would finally have the love story she had always dreamed of. However, she realised the man she thought was meant to be hers never belonged to her in the first place. He was already married and had never been into her, ever. It was all her wishful thinking. Yolanda accepted her fate and moved on. She then focused on her career and making money. Through the contract with RG shopping mall, she also made two wonderful friends, Roxanne Smith-Ford and Heather Jacobs-Carter. It was safe to say that her stay in Brentwood City had been eventful and she wanted to stay longer. Regardless, this decision would be made if Roxanne offered her a second contract. As she walked through the mall, fans rushed towa
Black was located on the exterior part of the Ford Paradise shopping mall. It was a massive high-end club where big shots met to discuss business ideas and seal deals. A certain businessman had a meeting with a notorious mob boss, Enzo Figaro, in one of the private booths at Black. Of course, illegal activities were not allowed at the club but they could discuss the signing of contracts and the progress of their business deals. It was during their discussion that Enzo caught a glimpse of Yolanda when a waitress opened the door to serve them some drinks. He recalled that he had seen her somewhere. One of the subordinates saw this and smirked. He said, "That looks like the fairy of Brentwood City, Yolanda Nicholson. You love listening to her songs, boss." Enzo narrowed his eyes as interest flitted through them. He remarked, "I didn't know she visited these kinds of places. Bring her to me. I must make her mine tonight." The businessman he was with gulped. He said, "This place do
Diego Montero was enjoying his time off when he received a call from his boss, Henry Ford. "There's trouble at Black. Use your connections in the underworld to get rid of that thug," Henry instructed. "Sir... It's been so long since I got involved with that world. I doubt anyone would help me-" "Yolanda is being harassed by a mob boss. My wife is worried and I don't want her to be worried. Deal with the situation, now," Henry said and cut the call. Diego sighed. He had been enjoying a peaceful life for so many years. Offending a mob boss meant he would be dragged into the world he despised again. Regardless, Henry Ford had once saved his life. Diego would do anything to help him out. Reluctantly, he opened his drawer, took out a trap phone and made a call. His heart raced as he waited for his call to be answered. "Diego?" A male voice answered from the other side of the phone. "Is that you?" Diego gulped. He pinched the bridge of his nose as he forced himself to answer.
"Is Yolanda safe?" Roxanne asked Henry when he got off the phone. "Yes, she is. Diego has taken her to his place," Henry replied. They were in the master bedroom, awaiting to hear news about how Diego resolved the issue at the Black Club. Roxanne was worried sick and felt guilty about leaving Yolanda alone in the private booth. Relief washed over her when she heard that Yolanda had been rescued. Looking at Henry, she furrowed her eyebrows and asked, "How come she's been taken to Diego's place? Is she still in trouble?" "Now that she's offended the mob boss, yes, she's in trouble. They will go after her for revenge," Henry answered. He helped Roxanne into bed and slid in next to her before pulling her into his arms. Before Roxanne returned, he had read the children bedtime stories and tucked them in. All Roxanne had to do was give them goodnight kisses before retiring to bed. "So, she will have to watch her back for the rest of her life? And how come Diego has connections in
After leaving a few men outside the villa, Diego left to meet up with the mafia men who had helped him to rescue Yolanda. Together, they searched the surrounding areas to see if they had been followed by Enzo Figaro's subordinates. Soon, they had checked all the hidden places in the area and confirmed that Yolanda would be safe, at least for that night. However, she would need twenty-four-hour protection. She and Diego had now become Enzo's targets. He wouldn't stop chasing after them until he killed them. Diego glanced at the man with a buzz cut and a scar on the right side of his face. He said, “Justin, thanks for your help tonight. I’ll use the Ford’s security team to guard her from now on-” “Are you kidding me? Those guys are already digging into you and that lady you saved. Your backgrounds, your pasts, the people you know- they are going to know everything about the two of you. By tomorrow, they will be out for blood. You need us, man. Why don’t you seek help from Augusto?” J
Yolanda’s eyes grew wider than the size of a dinner plate. Time seemed to stand still as she stared into Diego’s grey eyes and the surrounding air suddenly charged with electricity, igniting a spark between them. She couldn't fully register what had happened so she closed her eyes and opened them again. Only to find herself in the same position- on top of Diego with their lips pressed together. Their bodies were dangerously close, to the point where they could hear each other’s heartbeats. At the same time, Diego felt his heart rate accelerate. Although their lips were just pressed together, he could feel how soft Yolanda's lips were. Her scent wafted through his nostrils and it was almost as if he could taste her flavor. He unwittingly gulped. The subtle movement of his lips made the both of them snap back to their senses. Their hearts raced as they pulled away. Diego cleared his throat and Yolanda bit her lip, her face flushing pink. “Um… I’m sorry about that,” she said s
Yolanda and Diego had their breakfast in comfortable silence. Even though they didn't have anything to say to each other, it was not awkward. It felt like they had done this several times and yet, it was the first time they sat and had a meal together early in the morning. 'He's a good cook,' Yolanda mused as she munched on the extremely delicious pancakes. In her mind, she thought, there was nothing more attractive than a man who could cook. As they ate, she couldn't help stealing glances at him. He already looked handsome with his glasses but seeing him without them in the morning made him look all the more alluring. For some reason, Yolanda's heart skipped a beat. She still couldn't understand why she was getting affected by Diego's presence. Was it because he had saved her the previous night? He had appeared from nowhere like a knight in shining armour and now, the butterflies in her stomach wouldn't stop going wild when she looked at him. Diego had noticed her staring at
Yolanda waited for news about Diego's condition with bated breath. Her heart kept pounding hard against her ribcage, the sound deafening to her ears. Although Roxanne was comforting and reassuring her that he would be fine, she couldn't help being anxious. A bad feeling crept into her when Henry returned an hour later after Diego's surgery. "H-how was the surgery?" Yolanda asked and tried to swallow the painful lump in her throat. "Is Diego ok?" Henry's defeated look made her stomach twist and turn. She couldn't even imagine what she would do if Diego died because he saved her. It would be a nightmare. Henry Ford's eyebrows creased. He recalled the state he saw Diego in and shook his head, saying, "Things don't look too good. He might not make it through the night." A tear rolled down Yolanda's cheeks, followed by many more. Her heart squeezed painfully as if a strong hand was wringing it like a mop. She sniffed and said, "It's my fault. He was so hurt but he still carried me

Three years later... Henry Ford woke up very early. It was the month of love and a few days before Valentine's Day. As usual, he wanted to do something special for his wife as he asked her to be his Valentine. They had been married for ten years and he always asked her days before the actual day in a special and romantic way. Since this was about them, he wanted to do everything himself. He filled up some red balloons with air and scattered them around the sitting area downstairs and the dining area. After getting busy in the kitchen, he whipped up some breakfast for Roxanne- heart-shaped pancakes drizzled with syrup and strawberries covered in chocolate. He had seen this recipe from a trending video on t-i-k-t-o-k and thought his wife would love it. He then got the roses he had got for her and put them in a glass vase before placing them on the dining table. When Roxanne woke up and looked for her husband, she woke up to the transformed living room and dining room. She
Five years later… It was a Saturday and the Fords were hosting a family braai for their son, Oliver Ford, to celebrate his new age. Roxanne sighed as she glanced at Oliver who was helping his father, Henry Ford. They stood by the barbeque grill stand, flipping meat, sausages and chicken kebabs. Oliver didn’t want a huge party on his fifteenth birthday… he just wanted to spend time with family. However, Roxanne had invited Claire Hamilton and his other friends, Liam Kent and Jake Norton. They had all grown and were now teenagers. Running around playing tag like the younger kids didn’t interest them at all. Claire and the two boys sat at one of the tables. While Claire was taking pictures of Oliver, his friends were busy playing games on their phones. “Are you impressed with your son and husband?” Heather’s voice snapped Roxanne out of her trance. “They look so cute… I swear, Henry is a great Dad and Oliver adores him,” Roxanne replied, glancing at her husband dreamily as he
Diego and Henry rushed to the mansion in less than twenty minutes as if there was an emergency. Henry looked for his wife when he entered the mansion, yelling, "Roxy? Baby, where are you? Let's go to the hospital!" At the same time, Diego followed after him and called for Yolanda, "Princess, let's go to the hospital. The earlier the better!" They both paused when they found their women in the living area laughing and chatting with Larry Ford and Kenneth Smith. Henry furrowed his eyebrows. He remarked, "I thought you said you're not feeling well. You look fine to me..." Larry Ford glared at his grandson. He scolded him, "Son, if your wife says she's not feeling well, then find out what could be wrong with her first before concluding. Should I teach you everything?" Henry scratched the side of his neck. He tried his best to be a good husband but there were times like this when he had faults. Being human, he was bound to make mistakes or maybe say something wrong. He wasn't perfe
Two months had passed since Yolanda and Diego got married. Although they were happy, Diego had noticed that his wife missed her job. Yolanda was an independent woman who loved working for her own money... Of course, Diego provided for her but he could see that she wasn't used to staying home and shopping only. It would even affect her mood sometimes. Diego thought about a way to have his wife get back to her job. Quite alright, it would be dangerous for her to be in the spotlight with all their rivals targeting them but that was why he was around, right? It was his job to protect Yolanda and ensure her life didn't change just because she fell in love with him. So, before he could bring it up to her, he met with his brother and requested to move back to Brentwood City. Augusto glanced at Diego after he made his request, his brows furrowing as he asked, "What is it? Is this place not up to her standards?" "No... it's not that. I just want her to be happy and if doing her job mak
Yolanda's heart was galloping like a racing horse. Diego's promise echoed in her mind, making her look forward to what he would do to her. She tilted her head up, asking for a kiss and Diego didn't disappoint. He connected his lips to hers and kissed her hard. They began to move towards the bed and Yolanda fumbled with Diego's buttons as she tried to undress him. Meanwhile, Diego was busy deepening the kiss with every second that passed. He grabbed the back of her head while the other hand reached between them and he stroked her core, rubbing her clit with every movement of his fingers. Yolanda moaned against his lips. She failed to get rid of Diego's suit and instead, wrapped her arms around his neck and jumped on him, coiling her legs around his ripped torso. In that position, Diego held Yolanda's ass and began grinding his massive erect shaft into her bare core... Despite it being hidden by the branded pants he had on, Yolanda could still feel the tip of his rod, digging at he
Diego carried Yolanda into the cabin. Yolanda's eyes grew wide as she looked around. If she thought the outer form of the cabin was dreamlike, the inside was like paradise itself. The wooden cabin wasn't big. It was like one big room with a small kitchen in the corner, a huge bed in the center, a bubbling hot tub on the left near one of the windows and a bathroom on the right side. The bathroom area had an enclosure for privacy. Not only did they have several acres of land to themselves, but they were surrounded by maple trees with fiery red leaves which could be seen through the huge windows. The whole place was giving "leave the world behind vibes". It offered a perfect blend of romance, peace and refreshment for the newly married couple. "Are we still in our family's estate?" Yolanda asked and Diego smiled. He loved especially the way she used the word 'our' in her question. Sliding an arm around Yolanda's waist, Diego pulled her closer and then put her at his front bef
Diego Montero realised something. He loved Yolanda with his all. Whether he waited weeks or months to propose, she would still be the woman he would want to spend the rest of his life with. Yes, they didn't know what tomorrow may bring. But who ever knows? Everyone jumps in without knowing the obstacles they will face in the future. If there's anything he learnt from his former boss, Henry Ford. It's that as long as you had your loved one by your side, any other problem felt like a passing breeze. After talking to his brother, Diego asked the housekeepers to help out with the proposal. Of course, the housekeeper who had helped Dahlia was fired. In the Mafia, loyalty was everything. Diego instructed the bodyguards to control the drones he had shipped over earlier before they travelled. Augusto helped too. He stood downstairs near the drones, waiting for midnight so that they could control the drones to help Diego propose. Yolanda woke up and they had dinner outside on the balc
Diego didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He glanced at Dahlia and asked, "Why did you come back? If you had stayed hidden, at least I would have had good memories of you... but now... you disgust me." "D-Diego... that's not true. Your brother forced himself on me. That's why I faked my death. I was so ashamed-" "Shut up! Aren't you tired of scheming? Do you think I can believe you over my brother? My brother came from the same womb as I... we may fight and not speak to each other for years, but I know he would never do anything to hurt me," Diego's words sliced through the air like shards of ice, cutting Dahlia's words in the middle. "That's not true... why did you leave? It's because you hated your family!" Dahlia answered confidently. She wasn't convinced that Diego had moved on. He loved her very much and could do anything for her... how could his love for her end so quickly? Diego shook his head. He replied, "I left because I was hurt that they didn't want to avenge yo
