Annelise's POV

“Get out." Ethan repeated.

How cold his eyes suddenly grew controlled my legs against my wish. It's as though he's constantly having a battle with himself on what he wants to do.

One minute he's talking to me, though his face and voice always so cold, the next he wants me out of his sight and his life.

I really want to apologize to him, tell him that I didn't cheat on him and neither do I have a secret boyfriend somewhere but I'd find myself retreat.

He doesn't look like he even wants to know I exist anymore, let alone wanting to hold a conversation like that with me.

I ran out of the room and went through the same hallway we came through, but somehow I got lost. I found myself at a door that has ‘emergency exit’ written on it.
