Camilla's entire world shattered when her husband Nick Sinclair abruptly ended their three-year marriage, hurling divorce papers at her. The memory of his harsh words echoed in her ears... "I'm done with this marriage. Get out of my house!" No explanations. No forewarning. She had always known that their arranged marriage was devoid of love, but she had clung to the possibility that he would one day grow to love her. However, the arrival of his first love, bearing a child she claimed was his, destroyed any lingering hopes and exposed the emptiness of their relationship. Fingers trembling, heart bleeding, she signed the divorce agreement and packed the few belongings she could gather. However, the shock overwhelmed her just as she stepped outside Nick's mansion and she collapsed. Hours later, she awakened in the hospital, staring into the icy blue eyes of the stranger who saved her. ... Derek Donovan, New York's formidable and wealthiest billionaire CEO, had been searching for a way to deflect the media's attention from his status as a sought-after bachelor. In exchange for saving her life, he proposed a three-year contract to Camilla: pretend to be his wife for three years to keep the press and paparazzi off. With no other options and no one to rely on, Camilla felt compelled to accept the proposal and sign the contract. The contract terms were clear: no emotional attachment, no intimacy and no commitment. But he broke his own rule and fell head over heels for Camilla. Can Camilla risk opening her heart again? What about Nick, who now regretted losing her and wanted her back?

Chapter 1: Camilla

"Ma'am watch where you're going!" A voice snapped at Camilla, pulling her out of her daydream. She whipped around, her gaze falling on the irritated customer she almost ran into. The man glared at her before turning away, pulling his cart along with him. "Sorry." Camilla muttered, even when she knew he wouldn't hear her. Sighing softly, she pushed her own cart towards the counter, yawning tiredly and rubbing her eyes. While she waited for her turn to pay, her eyelids drooped sleepily. If she could just get a few hours of undisturbed sleep, she would feel much better. But that was a luxury she knew she wouldn't get. Her mother-in-law had barged into her room that morning before the sun crawled up. In her high pitched voice, she ordered Camilla to get up and prepare breakfast for the entire family, because they would be having an important guest. As usual Nick, her husband, didn't say a word to stop his mother. He had never defended her nor taken her side whenever she was being mis

Chapter 2: Our marriage is over

"What?" Camilla whispered unbelievably. It had to be a dream. How did Nick have a child? Did he have an affair outside their marriage? And who was the woman? Why had she never heard about her before. "Camilla, go inside. Now." Nick ordered, turning away from her. "We will have a talk later.""No." Camilla refused, standing her ground. Gone were the days when she would meekly obey his every command. Nick had gone too far this time, and she wouldn't remain silent. Her defiance shocked both Nick and his mother. "What did you say?" He asked. "I said no." Camilla repeated. "I'm not listening to you this time. I demand an explanation. Who is this woman?""How dare you?" Mrs Sinclair snapped. She walked up to Camilla and slapped her hard across her face. "The effrontery you have, standing there questioning my son."Camilla's cheek burned from the sting of the slap, and so did her eyes. However, she stubbornly held back her tears. "All these years, I have done all I could to be a good w

Chapter 3: Saved by a stranger

The first voice Camilla heard when she gained consciousness was from a doctor. "She will be fine. She's just under a lot of stress and extremely fatigued. She will need a lot of rest."Another voice spoke out. "I was so close to hitting her." From the sound of his voice, he seemed relieved that she was okay. "You're lucky the car stopped just in time." The doctor replied. "It would have been a fatal accident. Do you know if she has any relatives we could reach out to?""We don't know her." The other man spoke again. "I was driving too fast and almost didn't see her in the middle of the road. I don't even know who she is."There was a short bout of silence, and then the doctor spoke out. "I really appreciate your help in bringing her here, Mr Donovan. I know how risky this is for you. We will get in touch with her family if they live in the city."Mr Donovan. The name sounded strangely familiar to Camilla. She waited for him to speak. He did after a while. His voice was musical, de

Chapter 4: Kissed by a stranger

Derek was driving home from a late business meeting that particular night. Usually he would let Jeremy drive him instead. Most times, he would go with a large convoy with lots of security following ahead and behind. But on this particular night, he decided to drive alone. He took the less classy car so he wouldn't draw attention to himself. He wanted to be alone with his thoughts. Painful memories plagued him, memories from the past. Memories he had succeeded in blocking out. There was a reason why women were off-limits, why he didn't have one by his side. His heart had been shattered once, by his very first love, a woman he had loved wholeheartedly. Years ago before he inherited his father's chain of companies, his fiancée had ripped out his heart and destroyed it, turning him into a cold hearted man with zero feelings. He tried not to think about that day he gave up on love, but someone had mentioned her name at the meeting earlier and all his memories came cascading back. He
