Yurich Group.
Merely a month ago, Erin was ousted by her manager and Uncle Roger from the office. However, today, she stood alongside Orion and Mr. Arvesso's assistant, Jorge, ready to make a bold return. Orion, pledging to assist her in securing the highest position within the Yurich company, had convinced her to take this audacious step—a decision aligned with her strategic move to marry him.
"I'll inform you of my payment when the time comes. One thing is certain—I do not need money. The Yurich Company remains yours," she recalls Orion asserting.
Jorge is there as a representative of the Arvesso Family, and Orion is acting as Erin's bodyguard. Orion explained his plan to Erin, assuring her that he wouldn't mess with how the Yurich Company ran. He believed getting involved in office matters was pointless because Erin would be in charge in the future.
To ensure that Erin wouldn't be bothered by Jenna or Uncle Roger and to maintain Orion's constant presence, he decided to assume the role of a bodyguard assigned to her by the Arvessos. Erin believed her family didn't recognize Orion because he never intervened in Mr. Arvesso's office affairs. However, a few individuals did recognize him as Drew Walton's bodyguard from the past.
"You have nothing to worry about. Everyone knows me as a bodyguard, not the rich kid kissing Mr. Arvesso's arse," Orion reassured Erin.
As they headed to the lobby, the building guard confronted Erin.
"Miss Erin, I was informed by Miss Jenna that you're not allowed to enter the Yurich building," the guard stated.
"If you don't want to lose your job, you'd better back off. The board is expecting us," Assistant Jorge threatened.
"But I'm just doing my job. Miss Erin, you know I'm just doing what Boss Roger told me," the bodyguard reasoned, scratching his head.
"Erin is your future boss! She's with me as a representative of the Arvessos. Our name is on the expected guest list, so back off!" Assistant Jorge declared emphatically.
They were on the verge of preventing their entry when Orion shot them sternly. Undeterred, they continued walking until they reached the front of the elevator. Erin couldn't help but notice that Orion exuded an air of confidence and purpose. Inside the elevator, he leaned in, his whispered words sending a shiver down her spine, almost causing her knees to buckle.
"Don't worry. I'll ensure no one lays a finger on you."
She gasped after feeling his warm breath.
"You'll gonna need this." Orion attached an earpod to her ear. She didn't know what it was for, but she didn't have the strength to ask because she could feel her hair standing on end every time they got close. She tightly closed her eyes as she strongly felt his breath on her nape while he held her ear for the earpod.
When the elevator opened, she hurriedly stepped out to get away from Orion's body. Outside, she was surprised to see her father's lawyer waiting there.
"Miss Erin!" he greeted her. "Where's Mr. Arvesso?"
"I'm Assistant Jorge!"
The lawyer shifted his gaze to the man with her, who showed no emotion.
Assistant Jorge continued, "Unfortunately, Miss Erin and I were the only ones sent because Miss Erin will be the family representative. We reviewed the documents, and the 'will' allows Miss Villaverde to represent the Arvessos if needed."
'Family…' Erin swallowed hard at this revelation. Did the Arvesso family genuinely accept her? Another pressing question in her mind was whether the lawyer recognized Orion.
"Ah, yes! You're the one Mr. Arvesso mentioned who would come today."
As they headed to the board meeting, the lawyer and Assistant Jorge delved into some details. Erin felt a knot of nerves in her stomach as she walked. Spotting her manager, Mrs. Robles, in the hallway, Erin locked eyes with her and glared. Removing this woman from her position was now a priority when she returned.
It wasn't a matter of pettiness. Mrs. Robles allowed team members to engage in questionable behavior, and she betrayed Erin to Mr. Yu—an act Erin couldn't forget. If Mrs. Robles could do that to her, she could unquestionably do it to others as well.
"What's that woman doing here?" Jenna inquired upon spotting Erin.
The woman stood by her office, and as the witch prepared to approach, Erin waved at her cousin and entered the board meeting, leaving Jenna in shocked disbelief with parted lips.
Ten other attendees surrounded her uncle at the far end of the long table. Erin took her place in the chair marked for "Mr. Niel Arvesso," ensuring she implicitly conveyed the message. In this setting, she embodied Niel Arvesso.
Uncle Roger's gaze shifted toward Orion, who stood behind Erin. "Who is that man?" he inquired.
"He's my bodyguard," Erin responded succinctly.
"I don't recall you being capable of hiring a bodyguard," Uncle Roger remarked.
"Please refrain from insulting Mr. Arvesso's fiancée!" warned Assistant Jorge. "Exercise caution with your words as they reflect upon the entire Arvesso Family!"
Uncle Roger fell silent, unable to formulate a response to Assistant Jorge's warning. It became apparent why Jorge was renowned as the youngest and most talented individual in the business world. His education in law from America and a business course in London further solidified his impressive reputation.
"We cannot allow him in this room," Uncle Roger insisted.
Anticipating his objection, Erin nodded at Orion, signaling him to leave. He left the room without uttering a word, acknowledging Erin's understanding of her uncle's uncompromising stance.
"Alright! Since all members are here. We may now start the discussion," declared Uncle Roger.
He proceeded to narrate the past year's events, addressing inquiries about the company's declining profits since his father's tenure. It was no surprise to her that Uncle Roger's management had shortcomings. The conversation then shifted towards the imminent change in the board members.
"We're eyeing the chairman position," declared Assistant Jorge confidently.
"This is absurd! I won't allow an outsider to take the helm of this company!" Uncle Jorge retorted vehemently.
"Outsider? Last I checked, you're no longer the chairman, and that's precisely why we're here," countered Assistant Jorge. "Furthermore, Miss Villaverde is no outsider; she's the daughter of the previous chairman. Does everyone seem to forget that?" he added, the lawyer emphasizing the familial connection.
She observed Uncle Roger's frustration, finding satisfaction in his visible discomfort.
"Don't smirk, baby girl..."
Orion's voice in her ear startled her. Glancing at the door, she saw him standing seriously outside the glass door. He appeared like a vigilant bodyguard, keenly observing the surroundings. That explained why he had agreed to stay outside—he could monitor the ongoing events through an earpiece.
Assistant Jorge continued, "The Arvesso family is designating Miss Villaverde for the chairman position. The company will soon be under her leadership, so why postpone the inevitable?"
Erin swallowed hard, caught off guard by the revelation.
"This is absurd! I won't stand for it!" exclaimed Uncle Roger.
"Hah! Is this coming from the chairman, who experienced a 10% performance drop?" Erin retorted. "No offense, just stating the facts."
The other board members exchanged uneasy glances.
"You can't allow this!" Uncle Roger insisted.
Erin observed an employee approaching Orion, a woman with a smile directed at him. Orion appeared preoccupied, which clarified why he readily consented to step out of the boardroom. This action irked Erin.
"You don't have the authority to decide if I'm allowed or not! That's precisely why we have a board with members making such decisions!" Erin asserted firmly.
"Should you choose not to accept Miss Erin Villaverde, feel free to pack your bags and head home! The Arvessos command a substantial 65% share of this company. If you're feeling snarky about it, we'd be more than willing to acquire your shares. We don't intend to make things difficult for you, but fostering resentment might not bode well for your future."
Uncle Roger's lips curled at Assistant Jorge's pointed retort. "Does anyone dare question us?" he asked, scrutinizing each member who couldn't meet his gaze. "None! Then, we don't have a problem," concluded the assistant.
After the meeting, Uncle Roger received a day to vacate the chairman's office. Erin, engulfed in a myriad of emotions, expressed gratitude towards Orion. Just a month ago, she encountered significant challenges. Yet, here she stands—not only making a triumphant return to the office but also being handed ownership.
"Erin!" Jenna intercepted her as she exited the room. "I don't know what spell you cast on Mr. Arvesso to win him over! Did you sell yourself to him?!" Jenna's loud accusation aimed to expose their boss as morally compromised echoed across the entire floor.
Erin crossed her arms. "Why? Is that your preferred method for getting what you want?"
"You bitch! This isn't over!"
"Yeah, Jenna, this isn't finished. I look forward to escorting you out of your precious little office one day. Ciao!"
Her cousin walked away, and it was probable that her uncle had already informed Jenna about the altercation.
Orion turned to Erin, reflecting on her entire encounter with her former friend.
"So, where to?" he asked, locking eyes with her.
"Where? What do you mean?"
"I'm your bodyguard. I'll follow you wherever you go."
Her mind briefly froze at his words. "I thought it was just here in the office?"
She had assumed their boss-bodyguard charade was limited to the workplace.
"No, baby girl. Bodyguards protect their princesses 24/7. That father-daughter duo will easily find out if I leave you alone. So, where to?"
Oh no! Erin struggled to find the right words. Did this mean she was stuck with him all the time?
This is absurd! Orion found himself on the verge of anger as he drove Erin to her penthouse. Getting close to Erin and spending every waking moment with her was not part of his plan. He couldn't understand why he had let himself get entangled in this situation. Frustration clenched his teeth, and anger surged through him, directed at himself,
Erin led Orion to a secluded room in her penthouse for a private conversation. Unfazed that her residence boasted four rooms, she was open to accommodate him. However, she wasn’t ready to live with Orion. "What do you mean you'll be staying here?" she questioned, a mix of surprise and concern evident in her voice. 'Now? Wait, I'm not ready yet!' "After you just kicked me out of your car?" she retorted. Orion is one big moody guy, even moodier than someone with PMS. "I have to pack my things; I'm sorry," he explained. "Erin, I've already laid out my reasons to you. We told your family we'd stay together; I'll act as your bodyguard. Besides, I'm aware that someone wants to harm you." Erin shuddered in fear, though Orion's eyes conveyed much more than his words. She could sense the unspoken desires he harbored. She recalled Jenna's messages to Daryl, whom she had thought Orion. Unfortunately, Orion wasn't the recipient of those texts back then. "That's why I'm taking the k
Erin's heart skipped a beat as Orion appeared at the open door, catching her off guard. She chided herself for not reminding him that the bathroom connected both rooms. A playful glint flickered in his eyes, causing her lips to tremble with surprise and anticipation. Erin closed her eyes briefly to conceal the emotions swelling within her chest. Undeterred by the water, Orion approached and claimed her lips, his hands exploring her body with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine.
Erin found herself immersed in a whirlwind of emotions reflected in Orion's eyes. Desiring to believe in his affection, she interpreted how he gazed at her, and the subtle cues conveyed by his body language.Unexpectedly, he lowered himself towards her, initiating a kiss that left Erin momentarily entranced. As the moment's intensity swept over her, she questioned its reality, wondering if it was a dream. Orion, however, pulled her even closer, heightening her yearning for him not to release her.
"You are too audacious to send those messages, Erin," Orion grinned. "I managed to get hold of Daryl's phone, and seeing your message exchange is quite apparent to me." Orion gently squeezed Erin's chin while she recalled Jenna's messages to Daryl on the last day she saw him. She refrained from disclosing the truth, avoiding the admission that she wasn't the one behind those text messages, out of concern that Orion might be disappointed in her. Having just discovered that Daryl owned that number, Erin had unwittingly communicated with him, thinking it was Orion on the other end. "No, I didn't send those! It was Jenna," Erin explained, although Orion already had the impression that she was flirting with his brother. Despite Erin's protest, Orion remained emotionless until he suggested they go grocery shopping before his friend arrived to change the locks. "Do we really need to do that?" Erin stammered. "Yes, Erin. You were the one who said you believed Zach wasn't that person. We d
Orion is bringing Erin to the Arvesso office for some necessary tasks, seeking to put behind them the embarrassing incident in the penthouse where his friend Marco inadvertently witnessed their intimate encounter the previous night. It's a good thing Orion efficiently extracted the necessary device, stopping the video. His friend playfully teased him until he departed, further coloring Erin's cheeks with embarrassment. In the car, Erin couldn't help but ask, "Was it really okay for me to come along?" "Yes," Orion reassured her. "After what happened last night, I can't leave you in the penthouse." His reassurance brought comfort to Erin. The notion that Orion was genuinely concerned about her well-being was comforting. Yet, she couldn't help but harbor a hope that his feelings for her were sincere. As they traveled the road, her phone suddenly rang, and the screen displayed an unfamiliar number. Erin furrowed her forehead, staring at it for a moment in contemplation. "Is the
Erin confidently strode into the office, her head held high, with Orion, Mike, and Assistant Jorge following closely, all donning serious expressions. A discreet glance at Orion revealed him in a simple polo shirt paired with a jacket, projecting the aura of a seasoned bodyguard with years of service to Drew Walton. The production manager guided them through the office, introducing Erin as Miss Villaverde, Mr. Lawrence's daughter. Some onlookers, who had perceived her solely as an employee for only a few months, were taken aback. The news of Erin assuming the chairman position had stirred the office, prompting the usual commotion. However, some managers couldn't help but harbor skepticism and wariness, not necessarily due to her uncle's influence but rather owing to her gender and perceived lack of business experience. As they made their way through the office, Erin caught wind of a group gossiping about her. "Do you know who the bodyguard is? That's Drew Walton's handsome protect
Erin dedicated herself to understanding every aspect of the Yurich Corporation. Her mind throbbed with uncertainty, grappling with decisions that weighed heavily on her. Doubt lingered about her ability to lead Yurich effectively.Aside from the chief finance officer, she was among those responsible for signing the checks. However, she could not determine where the man's loyalty indeed lay in this capacity.
Months later... As the days unfolded amidst the ancient branches of towering trees, a soft breeze caressed the leaves, weaving a delicate melody that echoed the whispers of times past. The relentless march of time had etched its mark upon the weathered gravestones, standing as solemn guardians adorned with the names of those who once thrived with vitality. Some graves bloomed with freshly placed flowers, while others surrendered to the embrace of moss and roots, each telling a tale that had reached their poignant conclusion. Erin tenderly laid a bouquet of pristine white roses before the gravestone of someone she once knew as Orion's wise and strong brother, Daryl. It marked the anniversary of his passing. Having become a part of the Arvesso family through her recent marriage to Orion, Erin joined them in visiting Daryl's resting place. As she fixed her gaze upon the inscription of his name and the date of his death, a pang of guilt coiled around her heart, unseen but deeply f
Orion's waning interest in responding to Erin's question was palpable. "Well?" Erin asked once more, anticipation etched on her face. "Why did you agree to marry Tanya?" Orion's brow furrowed. "Do you believe I was romantically involved with Zach's sister?" "No." Initially, Erin had presumed there was a romantic connection between Orion and Tanya, conjecturing that their relationship had grown deeper, considering Tanya's pregnancy as evidence of such intimacy. However, the harsh reality of Tanya's miscarriage and Orion's subsequent public explanation unveiled the true nature of their bond with Erin. It dawned on her that what she had perceived as a serious relationship was, in fact, a casual affair. Orion recounted the events involving Mr. Niel Arvesso and Tanya, shedding light on what transpired in the hotel and the circumstances surrounding Tanya's pregnancy. "If that's the case, you knew from the beginning you weren't the father of the child she was carrying..." E
Erin's fingertips lightly brushed against Orion's cheek as they sat together in the car. Despite having a driver at their disposal, they paid him no attention, lost in each other's company. Orion monopolized her thoughts entirely. The disbelief lingered within Erin as though the day's events existed only in a dream. "Please, tell me this isn't a dream," Erin pleaded. In response, Orion silenced her with a tender kiss, his lips tracing a path down her neck. The driver's cheeks flushed crimson as he glanced at the rearview mirror. He wished he could vanish, overwhelmed by the palpable passion unfolding in the backseat. Their actions were simple yet intimate—kisses exchanged, sweet words whispered. Before long, they arrived back at Orion's residence, where Erin and Lacey were currently staying. Orion scooped Erin into his arms, carrying her inside. As they crossed the threshold, Erin's gaze fell upon a lone suitcase nestled by the doorway, a silent witness to Orion's hurried d
The movements, exchanges of conversation, and the beeping of various devices reverberated in Orion's ears like echoes from a dream. Erin's tears haunted his thoughts, her pleas for him not to let go echoing endlessly. Each time she cried, his heart sank deeper, consumed by worry. "Wake up, Orion… Wake up!" The urgent call seemed to emanate from everywhere—Erin's voice and even a faint whisper within his own mind. He needed to rise, to return to the woman he loved. It was as if an enchantment had ensnared his skin, holding him captive in its grasp, steadfast and unyielding. With deliberate slowness, he unfurled his eyelids, welcomed by the scene of Marco's fervent typing on his laptop. A lump materialized in his throat, accompanied by a cascade of numbness and anguish that inundated his entire being. The intensity of the pain threatened to elicit curses from his lips, but his voice emerged raspy and weak. "W-water..." he managed to croak. Marco's eyes widened, the color draining
As they sat together in the hospital lounge, Lily's tender touch wiped away Erin's tears. They both waited anxiously for any updates on Orion's condition, their shared concern palpable in the silent moments between them. The hospital restricted access to the intensive care unit to prevent overcrowding and minimize the risk of introducing infections. Visitors were required to wear gowns to prevent any potential transmission of bacteria to the patient. "Erin, you must continue to balance your responsibilities, both at work and with Lacey," Lily advised, offering her support. It had been a challenging month since Orion's hospitalization, and Erin struggled to juggle her obligations. Despite Lily's occasional return home to Bel-Air, Erin remained steadfast in her vigil by Orion's side in the city. "I know your heart is with Orion, but don't forget about Lacey," Lily reminded her gently. As Erin sank onto the couch, the weight of her exhaustion evident, she reflected on her sacrifices
"Orion! Orion! P-please, do your best to stay awake," Erin pleaded, trailing behind James' group of men carrying Orion. She feared that if he closed his eyes, it could be the last time she saw him. Orion's gaze appeared delirious, mirroring Erin inside his mind. He struggled to place his palm on her cheek, his efforts indicative of his weakening condition. James swiftly called for a helicopter to expedite their departure from the area where they had engaged Douglas Mikael's group. As they exited the building, Marco hurried towards Erin. "Erin!" he called out. "Marco!" She sobbed, embracing her friend tightly. "O-Orion..." Her voice faltered, unable to articulate her fears. "I understand. We must get him to the nearby city. I've informed the hospital and made the necessary arrangements. We cannot linger here in Acapulco," Marco assured her. Minutes later, assistance arrived. Erin followed silently, tears streaming down her face as she held Orion's hand, her prayers unspoken. A me
Five years ago, Erin and Orion engaged in meaningful agreement when Orion served as her bodyguard. During that time, he provided her with a number to call in case of trouble, a number that Erin never imagined would remain working to this day. Upon hearing Erin's voice, Orion struggled to contain his emotions. Both of them felt the weight of the situation, teetering on the edge of tears. "My love, are you alright?" Orion's voice trembled with concern, his trembling words betraying the depth of his emotions. The weight of sadness hung palpably between them, echoing the turmoil of their hearts. "I need a solid crust," Erin replied. Attempting to steady himself, Orion exclaimed, "I must compose myself! Fuck! How many guards are there? How many require rescue?" Recalling her observations earlier, Erin cryptically mentioned, "There's an abundance of cheese, an overwhelming number of pepperonis. The crust must be sturdy and thick," conveying to Orion the gravity of the challenge he face
"I need your help," Erin pleaded with Jenna as she made her way to Jenna's cabin. Caught off guard by Erin's sudden appearance, her cousin paused momentarily, her eyebrows furrowing in surprise. However, she swiftly composed herself, her hands continuing their fluid motion as she applied blush to her cheeks with practiced precision. Raising an eyebrow at Erin's request, Jenna couldn't help but wonder if she was losing her mind, entertaining the thought of helping someone she had distanced herself from. Jenna paused her makeup routine, crossed her arms, and met Erin's gaze in the mirror. "Are you suggesting I aid in your escape?" "Yes," Erin replied. She felt desperate. Honey had assured her that staying on the current floor offered some safety, thanks to Boss Scar's protection. However, venturing to the main deck, where the cruise clients resided, seemed perilous; too many individuals there harbored ill intentions towards her, making escape unlikely and survival uncertain. "Tha
Erin was so taken aback that she found herself unable to form a response. "J-Jenna?" she stammered. The woman before her remained stoic. Her demeanor drastically altered after five long years. She moved with unsteady steps, avoiding Erin's gaze. Erin recalled Honey's account of a woman who had been mistreated almost to the point of death by Bald, staying inside a cabin to recuperate. Could that woman possibly be Jenna? Approaching her cousin cautiously, Erin asked, "What happened to you? Why are you here?" She reached out for Jenna's hand, only to have it swiftly withdrawn. "Don't feign concern now!" Jenna retorted sharply. Despite her surprise, Erin's concern for Jenna was genuine; she simply hadn't anticipated this turn of events. Jenna attempted to compose herself, her facade crumbling. "A woman I share a room with mentioned Boss Scar's involvement in your abduction. I need to know if it's true!" "You've seen me. Are you reveling in your revenge?" Erin questioned, grappling
